  • This is so good! Love it!^^

  • do you have the japanese version of the song making christmas

  • Haha this is freaking awesome in Japanese. And really well dubbed in my opinion. It's really hard to dub any kind of latin based language to Japanese because it's so different. But they maintained most of the personality of the song.

  • @danitiwa thats the japanese for you. when it comes to do these kind of things, they are complete geniuses!

  • @danitiwa

You have a good point, but English is actually Germanic based. Sorry, don't mean to be a douche :P

  • @mistermasterinahat I think it's a bit of both. You see words that derive from both... But you are definitely correct

  • 2:47 is the most hysterical thing ever!

you really are a stupid idiot for commenting something so rude mabey we should all make fun of your language so stop being annoying and stop taking up commenting space ^ ^

  • I'm sorry if you feel that way about me but i just wanted to comment my expression on the vid. Sorry for commenting. I'll find anothing video to comment on then. God bless!

  • i'm not saying that you can't comment i'm saying that what's the point of commenting when you're gonna be idiotic about what something seems to sound like no one likes to read comments like that

  • Well thats what i heard on there. If i offended you in anyway, i'm sorry

  • i'm not mad or offended i just think that it's inappropriate to comment something like that

  • No. Some pple make stuff that up.

  • I love it when he says Christmas Town!!! XD

  • OMG!これってぜったいに世界の1番凄い物だ!

Haha this is the most amazing thing in the world.

  • そです!!!!

  • aww I wanted to hear kidnap the sandy claws in Japanese D:

  • watch Japanese NIghtmare 1 then ;)

  • YAY! XD

  • It kind of sounds like he's talking, not singing. That's the only thing I don't like about this. :/

  • sounds like the mayor has had a couple litres (me aussie btw) too many, otherwise great work

  • LOl its so much fun listening to this

  • wow 2:22

not someone you would want to find in your room at 2 in the morning....

  • I'm sad that the japanese version isnt as fluent as the english one but this one is awesome. I dislike "whats this" though. The japanese version of the movie was better than I thought it would be.

  • ;) That's your choice to say that about the video.

We're not going to change people's opinions by downthumbing them.

  • Yay. Thank you for being so nice.

    ^^

Normal people would get their panties in a bunch.

  • Well, I'm a language enthusiast, so I get dissed on the aesthetics of a language or song a lot, and I've learned that people have their opinions. And it's not polite to hold an argument on someone's Youtube video when they didn't start it, anyway. : )

  • I don't think I'm the most important person alive, BUT I think that when commenting a video people should show some manners

  • I love this video, absolutely love it. The best show of Jack's Japanese voice, in my opinion.

The extraordinary part is, it seems like I can understand the whole thing (I'm a student of Japanese, so...). If you need a translation, I'd give it a shot.

But I probably wouldn't, and am just posting saying that to make myself feel like i have amazing Japanese ability. XD

  • so awesome!

though some parts when Jack is singing, it sounds that he's talking...

  • if some can send me a link to where i can watch the Japanese version of this movie I'd very much appreciate it( is it just me or does jack sound a bit like soul from soul eater?)

  • Hmm, he sounds a little bit like Soul when he does a lazy-sounding voice. XD But then again, anyone talking lazy could sound like Soul.

The use similar styles of speech, that might be another reason you noticed it. But yeah, actually, through the second half of the vid I can totally hear Soul in his voice...

  • did you notice all the reaction sounds? The japanes are all about reaction sound.

    "aaahhh!"

    "ooohhh!"

    "ooooo!"

  • I love Jack's Japanese voice~! He sounds so adorable!

  • English is the better version IMO ( Danny Elfman is so awesome ). Jack's japanese voice is cute but I'm bothered by the fact that it sounds more like he's talking than he's singing. Well, the french version has this little problem too but...

Well, I guess that I really prefer the english version. I love the japanese language, really... it's beautiful. But they're more talking than singing here... and the musical parts are what make this movie so awesome.

  • That's true.

  • Yeah, I'm agree, sometimes is more "rithmatic" than sung.

I prefer Italian version, with Renato Zero voice, but Elfman voice is nice too.

  • Trop bien ! Bon je préfère en français mais je trouve que la langue japonaise est trop belle *_* ça fait tellement bizarre de l'entendre de cette manière là xP

  • tht wasnt half bad

  • i swear to god the corpse kid sounds like RockmanEXE.jack's voice is so cute!^^

  • jack has an adorable voice in japanese!!! LOVE it :3

  • oh u are so right! <333

  • Indeed he does x3!!!

  • I love this! And I can understand it though I´m swedish!^^

  • Did anyone else notice that the sea monster at 1:15 is a girl in the japanese version, but a guy in the english version? Listen to the voices.

  • It is ? To me it sounds like an old woman.

In the german version its a girl too, so I thinks its a female monster.

  • It is a girl in the english version as well. Her voice is just much deeper in the english version.

  • its mazing how well their voices match the characters personalities, and how the feeling of it all remains generally the same

  • I LOVE THEIR VOICIES! it suits them sooooo WELL

  • IN 57 SPANISH SAYS:"SI TE CREO"

  • 55 loool

  • Jack sounds really cool on Japanese *___*

    xD i love it

  • Can you put this with the japanese lyrics?

  • mii 3!!!

  • me 2!!!

  • I really wanna watch The Nightmare Before Christmas in Japanese!

  • i agree with the majority the mayor really sounds drunk

    tis funny

  • in spanish we call it Santa Claus, and in the film it's called "Santa Clavos", in english means "holy pins"

  • in the movie it's sandy claws.....

  • in italian it's Babbo Natale (eng. Father Christmas), it's transformed Babbo Nachele (eng. Father Christ-Claws). In english, obviously, claus->Claws, coz Jack thinks to see claws in the shadow of Santa. they should have tried to transform Santa claus in some japanese Bad Meaning, instead of keeping Sandy Claws.

  • It would be a bit more difficult in Japanese since Santa Claus is サンタクローサンタ (santakuroosu), which is just a translation of the english name. I guess that they could of had called him サンタグロス(santagurosu), meaning Santa Gross, but you would still have to know what the english word gross meant (which isn't totally unreasonable). And it is definitely not as close in sound as 'Claus' and 'Claws' (which are pronounced identically in english).

  • I think the only thing that makes this not as good as the English version is that it doesn't rhyme :(

  • Yeah, minna means everyone... although i think "Minna, kitte kure" translates to something like, "Listen, everyone."

Jack's laugh at the end... it's like, WTF...?

  • "Minna, kitte kure" means "Everyone, listen please", which is a bit of a short form for it. They did a pretty good job with the translation. Much better than I am used to from Japanese to English translations!

  • begining sentance i think was 'everyone, have a seat' i at least know 'mina' means everyone

  • the mayor IS drunk XD

  • LOL xD

  • the mayor sounds drunk

  • omg that's soooooooo kwl~!!!!

  • Sandy Claws....that's so creative. XD

    Thanks again!

  • I think Avalikia is right, our german translaters came up with something - the turned "Nikolaus", which means "Santa Claus" into "Nicki Graus". "Graus means ...something frightening".

  • この歌はすごいと思っている!

  • Jack being so used to hearing "scaring terms" hears Santa Clause as Sandy Claws

  • I wish the translators had done something with the "Sandy Claws". I mean, it wouldn't have made any sense to translate that into Japanese the way Jack mishears "Santa Claus" in the English version, but I'm sure that they could have come up with something in Japanese that would have continued the joke. As it is, a Japanese viewer probably wouldn't notice the difference, though those that did would notice that everyone in Halloween town mispronounces "Sanata Claus" for some unknown reason.

  • em.... but were is the song?

  • Aw... I was really hoping for the Oogie Boogie Song in Japanese.

  • Minna! Kiite kure. Boku ga mite kita koto wo hanasou. CHRISTMAS TOWN da

  • jack sounds like a narrator in a anime

  • -i like sally's "ooooh"

    -the mayor sounds drunk

    -2:48 to 2:54 ROFL!

  • i kno huh i was laughing too:)

  • That "Dah" at 1:57 was funny

  • yaaaaaaaaaay !! amo su voz !*-*

  • Toooooo....COOL!

  • I love it!

  • Sally sounds so stupid... Like always :P

  • when he laughs he sounds like a smirf.

  • =O that wolf man spoke in english! 1:58 o.o...nice video though~

  • XD jacks voice makes me giggle

  • I feel that I've already heard that voice in an anime

  • his laugh is wierd and at 01:56 he says duh

  • @ayeakaactor

Sorry to decieve you, he says "da" -> for an affirmative phrase

  • Jack's laugh in japanese sounds funny.

  • awesome!

  • I love watching TNBC in Japanese. It's feels more normal than watching it in English.

  • man, the japanese Jack rocks!!

  • Why do people hate the japanese version of these songs??? They sound just like them!!!!!

I say the germen version isn't that good.

  • nice

  • still very cool ^-^

  • WOW!!!! Leave it to the japanese to get it bang on! Voice acting is their thing...Im not surprised at how well they matched voices to the characters.

  • this is so amusing!!!

  • wow... the japanese goes soo well with the characters.... oooooo....

  • J'adore! I love this! Amor! I can't remember how to spell 'I like' or 'I love...' in german. This rocked on so many levels! I love listening to other languages!

  • mercurialmoi, errmmm are you french? the best version must be the way it was originly produced!!!

  • I dunno. This is halloween is better in french in my opinion. And the clown sounds better in Japanese. However in this, the worst sounding person is definitely the mayor.

  • heheheee he said no da XD

  • yes h said da in some parts

  • the italian version is the best

  • While all the dubs are respectable, it will always be the original langauage that stands as the best vocal track. In this case, English.

  • I think I'm in love with Jack's VA. :D

  • omg I agree, he sounds so good.

  • I like the Harlequin Monster's voice!
