Great video. Rosslavel- Initially, I was nonplussed at your puerile, inane drivel until I realized it was your attempt at irony. Yes, the idea of praising a song about a new world while promoting an anti- modern fascistic agenda would be so ludicrous that no one would be stupid enough to post such a comment unless they were making a sad attempt at humour.
This really kicks you in the heart. Probably haven't heard this since i was in grade three. i guess it was playing in the background somewhere probably at home or on the school bus but its amazing how the good musicians can resurrect memories. This is what men are supposed to sound like when they sing. Since this era our society has regressed enormously. The influences of media, culture, gangs, fame, liberalism, feminism, all like drops of water on the fire the sumproduct extinguishes.
Roger also has quite an audience here in Germany, mostly with German songtexts. But anyway; for me, his English songs are so enjoyable and authentic, I really love them all! And it also brings many souvenirs as I've grown up both with his English & German songs (they used to be broadcasted by Northern German radio "NDR" a lottish :) !
@msmithstud I'm 33 and this music brings me so many childhood memories as my mom played this since I was a small boy. I will never stop liking Roger Whattaker. It's quality:-)
@msmithstud Roger Whittaker has always had an audience here in Denmark(Scandinavia) since the the early 1970s and my mom was already an avid fan back then and attended his concerts whenever he came to Denmark. She played his music often when I was a small child so Roger Whittakers music has always been a part of my life somehow. I guess my mom indoctrinated me from a very young age:-)
What a beautiful, rich voice, I have so much of his music and will have to listen to it all again. This is a lovely song---"And I can feel a new tomorrow coming on--"--such hope and realisation that even when you reach "81" it ain't over till it's over and life is still wonderful if you carry your dream. A lovely posting, thank you ,"geralddonais"
@pegcage Excuse me? I dislike people who generalize genarations. I'm from the 90's lot, and if I had to pick one favourite singer of all time, it would be him.
Don't get riled up though, it's just me feeling a bit insulted. :-)
i'm a rock and roller...heavy,punk anything rock but will always remember whittaker playing in my house as a kid...always loved his voice... the guy had great pipes...
My favorite Whittaker song, but at first I didn't like this particular rendition--too slow compared to the album version, BUT then it really grew on me! The lush backing instrumental won me over. After watching Whittaker clips I come away saying the same thing as goldie0800 below: I really should get more of his albums! Such beautiful, uplifting music.
this is great - I remember listening to him as a boy - i am so glad he has been around - his songs send shavers up my spine - what a voice

I know why he has to make a song. He's Roger Whittaker, and that's what he does.
