  • this is great - I remember listening to him as a boy - i am so glad he has been around - his songs send shavers up my spine - what a voice

  • I know why he has to make a song. He's Roger Whittaker, and that's what he does.

  • crazy... I was raised my grandparents.... they play Roger's album all the time.. this brings me back to those good times.... love love love

  • RogerWhittaker is the best! He simply cannot be beat!

  • great song and singer lol though I think a new world or at least a new start evry morning would suit me fine !

  • take your bag and start an new life somewhere over the rainbow

  • contradiction !!

  • Great video. Rosslavel- Initially, I was nonplussed at your puerile, inane drivel until I realized it was your attempt at irony. Yes, the idea of praising a song about a new world while promoting an anti- modern fascistic agenda would be so ludicrous that no one would be stupid enough to post such a comment unless they were making a sad attempt at humour.

  • Wonderful to hear this live!!!

  • This really kicks you in the heart. Probably haven't heard this since i was in grade three. i guess it was playing in the background somewhere probably at home or on the school bus but its amazing how the good musicians can resurrect memories. This is what men are supposed to sound like when they sing. Since this era our society has regressed enormously. The influences of media, culture, gangs, fame, liberalism, feminism, all like drops of water on the fire the sumproduct extinguishes.

  • I still remember a Sunny Blend New Morning reaching the age of 6 - and very joyfull to tell everybody, I'm six years old!

  • My favorite song by Roger Whittaker. I had it on a cartridge, "You are a Miracle", but I wore it out. Lois Reinsmoen

  • Grew up listening to this man. still love listening to him.

  • it makes me remember a fantastic party's morning when I was first time in love:)

  • new morning ... is to day you are reight my friend

    thanks

  • @OFFENDOR I'm sorry but I hardly know anything about Whiskas, I prefer dogs.

  • He startet so well! Why did he leave this way to make only commercial tracks? It's a shame! A really great and giftet voice!

  • @MrTriolian That's an easy answer, "AGE," it catches all of us if we live long enough.

  • His baritone blows away most. He's also quite a gentleman.

  • so true and very well done!

  • He did not wear specs but I wear specs.

  • great song - only just noticed how sometimes in this vid Roger looks a bit like Jean Reno - brilliant live performance :)

  • @SCOTTISHFILMFAN That's hilarious.... he does look like Jean Reno....LOL...

  • phantastic guy. i met him in Copenhagen. He was very straight om. some very good

    songs especially Durham Town

  • Classic

  • Roger also has quite an audience here in Germany, mostly with German songtexts. But anyway; for me, his English songs are so enjoyable and authentic, I really love them all! And it also brings many souvenirs as I've grown up both with his English & German songs (they used to be broadcasted by Northern German radio "NDR" a lottish :) !

  • I've not really listened to him much before, not until the duo I play in cover Durham Town, he is incredible!

  • @tonecot89 I think that we must have because it was the same way for us and it was the greatest hits tape too!

  • This man is greatly underrated in music history

  • I grew up listening to his music...my Dad loved him and we constantly listened to him on almost every car ride that we went on

  • @cmckethen The same here. Roger Whittakers music brings me so many childhood memories:-)

  • @cmckethen You and I must have the same dad, he constantly played the greatest hits tape on trips to the grandparents, even to baseball practice!!

  • i'm 34 and appreciate this.

  • @msmithstud I'm 33 and this music brings me so many childhood memories as my mom played this since I was a small boy. I will never stop liking Roger Whattaker. It's quality:-)

  • @MichaelHundige I never heard of Roger Whittaker until i heard The Last Farewell.

  • @msmithstud Roger Whittaker has always had an audience here in Denmark(Scandinavia) since the the early 1970s and my mom was already an avid fan back then and attended his concerts whenever he came to Denmark. She played his music often when I was a small child so Roger Whittakers music has always been a part of my life somehow. I guess my mom indoctrinated me from a very young age:-)

  • Nobody makes music like this anymore. Great song and performance. One of my Whittaker favorites.

  • What a beautiful, rich voice, I have so much of his music and will have to listen to it all again. This is a lovely song---"And I can feel a new tomorrow coming on--"--such hope and realisation that even when you reach "81" it ain't over till it's over and life is still wonderful if you carry your dream. A lovely posting, thank you ,"geralddonais"

  • This man is a legend. Seen him twice. Simply excellent.

  • JEAH!!

  • its true what he says it takes to long ?.....because they what others to to do

change will only happen when you do it not others

  • its gordon freeman....

  • You don't hear that kind of voice often.

  • WWWWOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW

  • HE IS AWESOME..WHAT A VOICE

  • don't discount the efforts of the sound engineer - great voice granted.

  • HE DOES HAVE A GORGEOUS VOICE!!! BUT HE HAS A LISP WHEN HE SINGS!!!!

  • @dannys2222 What a ridiculous comment!! So bloody what?

  • My Grandma has a record player and I use to listen to Roger Whittaker's album all the time when I was a kid whenever I was with Grandma on the farm.

    Good times. ^_^

  • i still remember this one as a child

  • Beautiful. Thank you for posting.

  • Sorry, young people, THIS is singing!

  • @pegcage Excuse me? I dislike people who generalize genarations. I'm from the 90's lot, and if I had to pick one favourite singer of all time, it would be him.

Don't get riled up though, it's just me feeling a bit insulted. :-)

  • i'm a rock and roller...heavy,punk anything rock but will always remember whittaker playing in my house as a kid...always loved his voice... the guy had great pipes...

  • Everybody dreams of a new world order in the morning XD

  • Admittedly, the greayest song in Europe ever heard.

  • I have always loved this song.

  • Great entertainer!!!!!

  • I'd like to have a new girl every morning actually.

  • I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert twice in Fla. Great singer and performer.

  • makes me smile - with a deep breath :)

  • THE MOST MEMORABLE SONG IN MY LIFE--hl

  • He sounds at times like he's trying not to laugh XD He's great.

  • @DumuRaL Your right! I love his warm voice and twinkling eyes.

  • Sings along

  • Comment removed

  • My favorite Whittaker song, but at first I didn't like this particular rendition--too slow compared to the album version, BUT then it really grew on me! The lush backing instrumental won me over. After watching Whittaker clips I come away saying the same thing as goldie0800 below: I really should get more of his albums! Such beautiful, uplifting music.

  • just amazing, mad props!

  • Lovely rendition. Wonderful singing! I really should get more of his albums. Thanks.

  • It's amazing how he's so incredible live.

  • @simplethunder - great technical production and a fuck off orchestra! how's the brass? and did you hear the harp? lovely.

  • : )
