@RTechstudio This will outperform a 5770, but the 5770 is DX11 capable and has a better thermal signature. ie. it uses very little power when idle. If it were me, I would chose the GTX285 if my computer was strickly for gaming and pick the 5770 if I was going to game and also leave the computer on all the time for other stuff like web browsing and such. @sharki9876 Looks are the main negative, the backplate looks a lot better. It does cut down on some heat, but either way good airflow in the case is a must to keep temps down. Hope this helps! Be sure to check my channel out too. :)

I do not know the rest of your setup but for me its a nforce 790 Digital FTW board (which is powerhungry also), 4x 10k rpm WD hds 2 monitors, 8gb OCZ 1800Mhrtz memory, Intell Core2 Extreme X9750 CPU running stable @ 4.2 Ghrtz and loads of USB devices. I use a 1000 Watt PSU, while that may be overkill for you id go with a good brand 500+ watt PSU as minimum, get a 600 watt to be in the clear.

The thing they don't tell you in the video review is the black screen of death these cards love to give you. Working on my 3rd RMA now, the one I currently have has been in my computer a whopping 4 days and I can't play Call of Duty for more than 5 minutes without a lockup, what a wonderful card... We'll see how my 4th card will do.....

If I leave the fan on auto, yeah, but I generally run it at 80% and the card never sees more than 72*c, not that it would matter, thermally the card's maximum is 105*c anyways.

i had the grainy pixels on the screen and texture color changes when playing COD MW2, i noticed that generated frames (FPS=150) heats the GPU and make it reach 82 or 83 even, i've check V-Sync to keep FPS=60=LCD refresh rate, and the GPU Temp kept at 72 with auto fan speed, played most of the campaign and no grainy pixels

Plenty of power, I've changed power supplies and such just to make sure. Finally got one in that's working right. If you check EVGA's forums, the black screen of death is a pretty common problem for whatever reason, great card when it's performing properly, just irritating when thing's don't work, but that's with anything... :)

if your not bent on getting a nvidia card, you should get one of the new 5000 series cards from AMD. the 5850 or 5770. These are good, and will last a long time, because DX11 is not yet standard. if you really want a nvidia card, ConFuSerZ has some pretty good recommendations

Cuda is a very powerful parallel compute engine that allows calculations TO BE MADE much faster than the CPU, is very useful & allowing some incredible performance.

Physx allows the GPU to perform real world graphics like cloth movement & tearing, character movement etc.

Stereoscopic allows 3D vision for 3D Games and Movies on 120hz monitors.

AMD & ATI might well be cheaper but you get what you pay for & in my opinion an Intel & Nvidia combination cant be beaten, although for the cheaper end of the Market ATI/AMD make some very very good products for the price.

The GTX 295 seems Amazing, but you could get the GTX260 like you said for a budget and its really good, as for ATI you HAVE to get the HD 4890 to have one of ATI's Top notch cards wich i think was competing with the GTX260, i mean correct me if im wrong.

Yes the ATI 4890 is a super card, especially for the price but again the extras that Nvidia have make it a better buy in my opinion & its all about personal opinion.

2 GTX280s in SLI would be better than GTX295.

Dont always go on these benchmark tests as all cards perform differently with different games in real world platforms.
