  • i have a little round spot with little pumps do i have staph??

  • OMG...I HAVE 8 month old TWIN BOYS..and I am soo freaked bc i watched this video and its the same with one of the twin boys..its started like a red little flea or mosquito bite, within a couple days it progressed as did your baby..looking like a pimple with a little puss head..following another growth on the other leg..I have researched and researched and found this video.I'm BRINGING him in today. It is developing the same way.Im scared now,Please Pray For HIM & US..his name is Dawson.

  • @honeybear8605 I will definitely keep him in my thoughts and prayers!! He'll be just fine!! The important thing is that you caught it so early!!

  • My son just was diagnosed with a staph infection yesterday. He got stitches on Sunday on his forehead & that is where the staph infection is...it looks nothing like a pimple(s) though...hmmmm...do you know if they all look like pimples or if it just looks like an ordinary infection? Its just red & crusty.

  • Thank you so much for posting this...so so helpful. My infant has this, and your video really helped!!

  • @alikitg Oh, you're so welcome!! I'm glad it was able to help you!! Hope your little one gets better soon!!

  • hope the kid is better. If anyone was wondering, infants/kids are not the only ones that can contract staph.

Strange I came upon this video, but I also got staph. I'm a M/24 and got it over past spring 2011 while I was at school. At first it just looked like a small pimple. My face is pretty much acne free, just a couple adult cystic acne every now and then. Not like acne that teenagers get when they go through puberty.

  • I know this is two years old but I wanted to comment. lol You were very lucky you found out what it was its so serious my Mother in law got a bug bite and it turned into staph and the next day when she woke up it spread and was all over the front of her leg. The doctors were giving her the wrong meds and had to keep her in the hospital she had it for a whole month and lost 30 pounds because she couldn't eat they said she was very lucky she lived. Crazy infections!!

  • I have a night-time itch. A point here, a point there. It comes with warm moist conditions in the bed and the weather. Possible due to food allergy or bathing in roof water. Age 66 .Very fit. Lots outside.

Relieved by Dyphen hydramine, or bicarbinate.

Diet is acid, p nuts tomatoes etc. Vitamins etc... all done away with, bed clothes changed ... no bugs

Any help at all!!! It is a torment. hobot 22

  • Hey is this infection the only reason why a baby would have a couple of blisters...because my son has blisters in his pelvic area...

  • Oh, and my daughter is allergic to Sulfa, and the medication that will treat it effectively has Sulfa in it.. so thankfully she hasn't had a major case of it needing medication.

  • After a 3 month bout with "spider bites" on ourselves, (we find out later it was MRSA), we had our baby. Then when he was 2 weeks old, he got a bad case of MRSA. A two week old!! It was all over his diaper region. Terrible. Pustules, boils, and gross. Dr didn't know right away what it was, but did tests and positive lab result for MRSA. Freaked us out! The Dr. thought STDs even. Always check for staph!! We used Altabax ointment. Cleared it right up

  • 110 percent exact same thing, diff place....I seen this after i caught the SA but, great video.. rx for 6month old boy/ not allergic...bactroben ointment for skin 3x a day,and cephalexin 250mg 4ml twice a day

  • 0.42 is funni lol srry for laughing

  • this looks more like the common form of impetigo, a cellulitis or skin infection cause by the bacteria staphylococcus aureus or streptococcus group A or a mixture of staph and strep. it did not look like the leukocidin toxin producing strain of staphylococcus. Yep that's impetigo. i had to teach this crap for years.

  • oh ok when you said it can be in your nose then I knew its the same as mrsa I am a nurse and I see this a lot not the rash but in the nose

  • ya'll are too very good parents

  • is it aslo called mrsa?

  • @misti4uall28 yes this was my question too

  • Cephalexin

  • he is such a cute baby,, hope he's feeling better

  • stap is a pus-forming and the most common pathogen bacteria found on humans. You can catch it from dirty counters, door knobs, basically on surfaces and stuff like that but dont worry trip is is going 2 be fine in no time. He is such a sweet little boy and really strong :)

  • I had a staph infection when I was pregnant I got it after I went to a public pool it was all im my armpit and they were large and gross but it went away!

  • I know you made this vid to talk about Tripps ailment and I'm glad he's gonna be ok.... but I just can't look at him without thinking "what a beautiful baby!!!"

  • Aww thank you :o) I can't either haha! Everytime I see his sweet face I melt. I basically melt all day lol

  • oohhh poor trippy! i hope it gets better quickly! thanks for letting us know

  • O my gosh thank you for doing this video.. my brother and sister-in-law a week ago came up wth what they think are spider bites but yesterday she showed me and they look JUST LIKE tripps leg! is this something that can go around like the flu??

  • YES, it is very contagious. ANYONE can get it from ANYWHERE. Tripp could have had a little scrape and the bacteria could have gotten in the scrape from a dog, public place, person who had the bacteria without knowing, etc. Or since he's cutting teeth, he could have been chewing on something that had the bacteria and it got in through his mouth... it could happen easily and we'll never know where or when he got it. But it can spread just like a cold.

  • ohh thats soo sad poor lil tripp i hope hes doing better thats sooo sad

  • Oh, he's doing great! He never felt sick or pain from it. His meds started working really fast and his rash is already looking better :o)

  • My baby boy is 5 months old and when he was only 4 weeks old, I noticed a little place that looked like a pimple right above his butt area. Anyway, I was scared to death. His doctor did a culture and it turned out to be staph. I couldnt understand how my 4 week old baby had this. We hadn't even had him in public yet and I am a compusive cleaner. The doc said more than likely he got it in the nursery. Scary, huh? Take care.

  • my brother has a staph infection!! he said he has a hole in his leg from the puss.. soo gross! poor tripp! i hope it goes away soon!

  • Great video--so informative! I learned something new today! Thank you! Hope it goes away quickly for you.

  • Thank you! It's so weird that staph is SO common, yet so many ppl don't know about it. We had NO clue about it. Tripp's meds started working fast though and his rash already looks so much better :o)

  • when i was in basic training for the US Army we all got it all 90 of us and we were very healthy adults obviously lol, working out everyday nad eatting a perfectly balanced meal 3 times a day so yeah its just one of those things thats pretty common to get i just feel bad that he had to get it :( i hope it goes away fast!

  • Yea it is pretty common. It's still scary though when it happens to your little baby!! And I think I mainly freaked out just knowing that it CAN be serious. Even though his isn't. I just worry lol

  • i bet! i would have a heart attack lol hopefully it clears up fast and the medicine helps him!! i will be thinking about him and you guys!!

  • aww that makes me sadder than sad. =[ but he looks so happy and not like he has anything at all

  • Thank you :o) He seems perfectly fine! It's so weird. We'll make sure to keep an eye on his rash though.

  • I have had school sores and no other symptoms either (and neither did anyone else I know who has had them)

  • thanks for the info... that is scary but he will get better soon! take care!

  • Poor Trippy, but not to worry he'll be better soon babies always bounce back healthier from these things :)

But how are you guys doing cuz most parents run themselves ragged with stress and anxiety, so don't forget to take care of yourselves as well guys!

  • poor Tripp :( hope he gets better soon x

  • Thanks for the info. I had my husband look at the pictures of the infection so we could commit it to memory in case our son ever get that. I'm glad you caught it early and things seem to be going well!

  • That looks soo uncomfortable! I'm so glad that Tripp had no other symptoms other than the visible! Because that looks like it should be painful/sore, something!

    Get better Tripp!

  • Well usually it is!! Everything we red says that it is painful. He just showed no signs of his being painful.

  • He's just a Trooper! Trooper Trippers! That should be a new nick name for him!

  • OMG!!!get well soon handsome little boy..

  • Ohhh goodness yes its painful i had it under my armpit ! i had to go to the doctor and he cut a hole in it to drain, IT WAS BAD!

  • Thanks for sharing this Lora and Layton. Hope little Tripp is ok, you guys are such good parents.

  • Awe poor little guy :(

I hope he gets better real soon!!

  • OMG they looked awful! It looked like a burn! I'll bet it's uncomfortable but he is just such a good boy. Poor kiddo. Man that is freaky. Does his walker seat rub him right there on his thigh? Maybe it rubbed a little abrasion on his skin, and then he just touched something that was carrying the Staph. Ugh, That would irk me not knowing where he got it! I would be like BLEACHING EVERYTHING! I hate germies! Well you guys are good parents for catching it and taking him in! Phew!

  • Haha yea we've been bleaching everyting and cleaning everything that can't be bleached lol

  • I'm sure you guys are! You're smart to wash everything like the blankets after he's used em to! Once it's gone it wouldn't hurt to steam the carpets/rugs too! When my dog had parvo I felt like my skin and house was CRAWLING with the germs! I couldn't et ENOUGH bleach! I wanted to bathe in it! I wish you could just shrink your house and dip it in bleach water!!! LOL I'm a bit OCD!! Has his Sores shrunk or changed any today?

  • Haha that'd be cool to shrink it and dip it lol!! Since he's had it though, we've been REALLY careful and cleaning/washing everything before we even knew what he had. Now we are just doing it even more!! And the rugs/carpet will all get cleaned as well. Yes, his meds worked quickly and his lil rash is already looking better!!

  • Thanks for the info Lora and Layton. It is good to know. Glad that you guys caught it early. I will keep Tripp in my thoughts and prayers that he gets better super fast!!! That is one thing about having kids.........it is so scary when things happen to them or they get sick.

  • staph sucks! i have gotten it many times, i hate it! it hurts really bad =/

i'm glad you found it pretty soon, and it didnt get too bad!

  • AWW WOW!! I'm so sorry about Tripp! I hope it gets better. i'll be praying for him and your family. Haylee had two bumps. One on each thigh and when I saw this I freaked out and checked them.. They look like they're going away right now though. I will be making an appt anyway. Thank you for sharing!

  • No problem! Good idea getting it checked out, just in case. You can never be too careful.

  • poor tripp... hope the antibiotics work... he's still a jolly little baby... thats good you caught it early! thanks for making this vid..real thoughtful :)

  • thanks for sharing!

  • aw poor baby Tripp! so glad ya'll caught it in time!! good job parents!! Lora, I would've freaked out too! thanks for making this vid--good to know

  • Im glad you caught it early, Jacob had two boils on his right butt cheek, about a month ago. They prescribed him azithromycin 100mg/5ml. I was freaked out myself. My kid has never even had a diaper rash

  • Neither has Tripp! He's never had diaper rash or any kind of other rash or skin irritations. That's why we were so confused! Luckily the meds are working great and he's doing much better :o)

  • Hi sorry to hear that, I just researched on the internet and it said its caused by a staph bacteria, and the bacteria can be spread through the from one area of the body.

  • poor lil guy! That looks really scary I am glad he is doing better though!!

  • Hay

Here in australia we call them school sores and they are very common and contagious so be careful hun... Do they also give u some cream to put on it... I hope he gets better soon poor little guy

  • i'm from australia and have never heard the expression "school sores" lol, anyway hope the infection goes away quickly

  • trent: School sores are common here (in Aus) it is impetigo

  • i hope he gets better!!! i'll be praying for him!

  • poor tripp that is so scary!

  • Aww! Poor Tripp! I hope he gets better soon!

  • Hey, your hair's getting long. It looks really pretty! :D

  • Thank you :o)

I chopped it all off when I got pregnant, but I'm growing it back out. It's been long my whole life! I missed it!

  • I know how that is...I got my hair cut really short once, it was fun for a couple of days, but after that I just wanted to hide in my house until it grew back. lol

  • Ajay got a staph infection on his butt...just a bunch of little bumps (I thought it was a really bad diaper rash)...they gave him Bactroban and it went away that night

  • Oh that's awesome! Tripp's is starting to go away too. We're so lucky they didn't have it really serious.
