  • I love this card!

  • 4890 = 6790 =130$ IN NEWEGG

  • @migur77 4890 is better than 6790

  • I though that that was box on the right :) and then he said that is not

  • Comment removed

  • This card is fucking legendary. It owns the 5850 in some games to this day.

  • lol is funny how now ati cards perform better at higher resolutions.

  • AMD ftw

  • I have 2 of these in sli with my I7 920 and it is quite a combonation! Im wondering if I should get a 3rd one or get two GTX 570's

  • @MrBlooDudette Lol, they crossfire, not sli. Just saying! :-)

  • @DiDolRuChagi Well yeah... same thing xD

  • @MrBlooDudette "I have 2 of these in sli" wtf dude, sli is on NVIDIA Card's. CrossFire (CF) is on ATi/AMD Card's.

  • @aLieNcrYse Oh yeah, whoops :p always making that mistake

  • @MrBlooDudette This is probably a late response, but 3-way Sli/Crossfire doesn't always scale that well. I think you should go with a 570 in this case.

  • @ZeroHeroVids Yeah, pretty late. Got two GTX 570's anyway.

  • 1:25 cameraman's rebellion

  • amd and ati gaming ftw

  • AMD>nVidia

    Deal with it

  • @thispieistoocold amd and nvidia are both good, why im always seeing fan boy coments, no mather what, ati makes fast cards, nvidia make even faster, and ati makes even faster and nvidia makes even even faster.. so what this fight whit no losers or winners

  • 2 last grn cards or 1 new card?? one 460 or 2 older cards??

  • can u make a comparison between 5770 and the 4890

  • @BraveZombie I saw a reveiw with the two compared, they performed almost identical on MW2 max settings straying only a couple fps away from eachother, go with the 5770, better features, eyefinity, hdmi and displayport(no adapter needed), and also DX11

  • @BraveZombie

5770 = good mid range card, has latest DX11 support

    4890 = more powerful than 5770, but DX10 only.

The first number represents the generation of technology, the next 3 numbers represent how powerful it is in it's class. 890 is several grades higher than 770, but the 5 gives it the next gen in computational power, and has more potential.

  • 9. April 2009 !

  • 4890>5770 ...=> 4890 much faster il all games ,see the reviews on internet

  • 4890 or 5770 ? im stuck between them as i know that the 4890 only supports DX10 and the 5770 supports DX11- but i don't really see much different between the 2 plus DX11 will take a while to actually kick in (correct me if im wrong), i have seen benchmarks where the 4890 has come on top of the 5770 wich shocks me as the 5770 is a newer card, so yeah please help me decide wich is the best one to get for gaming. I want the best performance and please no fanboy's !

  • @NitroProffin speed specs are about identical but dont forget 4890 is 256bit and 5770 is only 128bit. so therefor 4890 is about twice as powerfull then 5770.

  • @NitroProffin 5770 is only better than 4850, not on par or better than 4870 or 4890... as for gtx275, it is indeed compete strongly with 4890....

  • @lancernos Agreed I had crossfire 5770 and 4890 compares just the same with 2 5770s. 5770 is the lower end of the 5xxx series but the 4890 is the high end of the 48xx series. 4890 beats the 5770 and 5770 dont compare to 4870 either. but compares to the 4850.

  • @lancernos total bullshit :) The 4890 is almost as fast as the GTX 285 and sometimes even faster, I know 'cuz I have both of them.

It's a total difference of 10 fps in most games, which is not worth the money

  • @UnknownSoldier2011 well, i just point out my view based on the reviews i saw, 4890 is sometimes not on par with gtx285, the fps for some games are only comparable with gtx275... i dont own any gtx285, i only experienced single 4890 and sli gtx275, and now i'm happy with the former :-)

  • @lancernos I owned the Vapor-X version which suddenly died 3 month's ago, and I forgot that I used the 4890 in a C2Duo system I've never been able to see how it performed on my new i7 rig. It was a very fast card and I had more enjoyable fps with a few games than I now have with the GTX 285 I think because of the lack of DirectX 10.1 support. With the price of a GTX 285 you could buy almost 3 4890's nowadays, I'm waiting for the 6900 series now (if it's worth it) :P

  • @UnknownSoldier2011 yup, totally agree, sometimes procs will bottleneck the gc... but i'm happy with 4890 matched with i5-750, both are stock speed... however, in my place, 4890 used to be more expensive than gtx275, but still slightly cheaper than gtx285... i dont play much games, so sli a pair of gtx275 is a waste for me, and my psu barely can support...

  • @UnknownSoldier2011 oh btw, my 4890 is reference card with stock cooler, by Sapphire, never oc before....

  • GTX 275 is very slow

  • Homo

  • 5870

  • 5770:X

  • Man these vids are good. Subscribed :)

  • I would love to torrent a gpu and once it's downloaded, *POOF!* the graphics card appears in my computer all installed w/ latest drivers and ready to go! (In my wildest dreams) I think ima get this card, two of them actually.

  • what have you been smoking?

  • The good stuff mate.

  • i will buy this one :)

ppl say is da same gtx275 and is cheaper

  • If you crossfire the 4890 its a damn good bang for the buck

  • I'm saying this without any proof or support.. but I get the feeling Nvidia is more for Media and ATI is for gaming.

  • somewhat correct.

Ati is mostly raw power (core clocks, shaders) which caters to games.

Nvidia card often have LOADS of memory, and high memory clock. (3d modeling, playing games at extreme resolutions)

Both are good at media though.

Fermi, the latest nvidia gpu, is catered to 3d modeling as well.

  • I have this one!

  • 1:28, it is 4890 not 4870... yes 4870 is clocked at 750MHz but 4890 is indeed clocked at 850MHz

  • 4890 is faster then GTX 275 i don thsi test with a friend

  • WTF is on his shirt? If thats the mic...dang you guys, come on! Get a better set up....jeeeeesh.

  • LOL

  • Nice card, I own the Sapphire Atomic Edition that running at 1Ghz (Core clock). Great performances for the price.

  • Man, I'd love to LimeWire a 5970!

  • LimeWire a 5970! What the fuck are you talking about ?!?! LIMEWIRE?

  • @speedaddict2008

We were all laughing at will891410 when we asked where to download that card. I was being sarcastic.

  • I didn't know you could download GPU's! Please! Tell me how!!!!!!!! :D

  • just you can download the bios of the gpu you know like ps2 emulator

  • No, no. That's not what you said. You didn't say BIOS, you said GPU. Please. Tell me how to download hardware for free! Hahahahaha! :D

  • limewire it :)

  • hahaha :D I would love to know that to!

  • you cant download a gpu but you can certainly go down to the computer store and buy it! I think you mean download its drivers.. you can do that on the ati website

  • guay que pedazos de graficas yo tengo la ati de 512 m

  • FAG!

  • haha i thought that paper was a real box

  • ATI>GeForce

  • Wait im a bit confused....

    MSI Ati Radeon HD 4890?

    Why got MSI?

    i got Ati from AMD

  • @cjgan80 ATI used to make their own boards, too

is like cpus now, they sell CPUS but other companies make the boards. The same companies make ATI board aslo make Nvidia boardas. AMD owns ATI btw

  • yes , i also know ATI is owned by AMD , just a bit skyptical -_-

Had to choose like 3 types of brand manufacturer but the same model number -_-

  • I ordered hd 4890. I hope my computer is compatitive. At least I know that i have pci-e 2.0 x16 wich the card needs.

  • hopefully your PSU'll have nuff power.

  • What PSU and processor do you have with your computer setup?

  • I already did some search and my psu is not powerful enough and it only has 1 6-pin connector. So, buying new one. processor amd phenom II X2 @ 3.11 GHz

  • Get an amd phenom ll X4

  • Is that a suggestion or a requirement for this gpu?

  • Can i use my 8 pin mobo connector for my graphics card? i'm thinking about getting a graphics card that has a 6 pin and an 8 pin. My PSU has 2 six pins and one 8 pin motherboard connector, but my mobo doenst need it. would it be safe to put it in my new graphics card?

  • thats what the 8 pin is in the first place, its not just a mobo, its for anything 8 pin

  • Lol i just found out my PSU has a 6 pin and a 6+2 pin.

  • lol this cameraman is a mysterious one,

i wanna see what he looks like...

  • @Iamshort435

He says thats ducks cant fly

he also claims to be a very handsome man.

Al we know he's THE CAMERAMAN!

  • What is better an HD 4890 or a GTX260

  • 4890 anyday

  • Well radeon 4890 definitely because they process MUCH FASTER

  • jUST GOT A 4890 AND ITS AWESOME

  • @ZR3FR1K HD4890

even the HD4870 is better but takes more Watt

  • The 4890 is definitely better

  • 4890 beats the shit out of a GTX 260

  • u fucked in ur mind

  • AMD Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cuz U have it

  • @alex189100 from which planet are you?

  • @Raizeo earth. AMD ROCKS

  • @alex189100 Of course it doesn't rock, rocks doesn't like electricity

  • @Raizeo llllllllllllooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllll

    nice one

  • Made in China LOL!

  • I have the Gigabyte Version of this card. On the back it has a gold plated HDMI output. Pretty sick.Oh and Zalman fan.

  • they both show off products and do simple reviews.... Nobody ripped off anybody...

  • thank you all knowing wise one

  • ??? did I insult you in any way? I just said nobody ripped of anybody...

  • haha no, I just thought it was funny how you know for a fact no1 vied the others review 1st and accidentally or intentionally quoted it. Glad you were there at the time the video was shot to clear it up for me is all!!! Now I know with 100% certainty!!! life seems so easy now!!! I'm just bored kid, it's youtube!!!!!!!!!!!!! designed to entertain me lol

  • if you have nothing better to do than to "play ignorant" on You Tube than you must have a weird since of humor...

Nobody quoted anybody. They told us the Specs and what the damn thing is named... If you don't say what the specs are or what the name is then you don't really have a very good review on your hands...

  • haha you're still replaying, thanks for stating the obvious!!! HAHA today we're reviewing...well idk but TheGreatStash1994 probably knows, lets ask mister i was there and it's official!!!! Haha let it go kid.

  • what the fuck is your problem dude?

did I do something to you, or are you always a dick?

  • while we are at it why don't we group in every hardware review site and say that are all copying there content from each other....

  • haha! you're becoming less & less entertaining but thanks for the laugh kid. I see by the back to back responses something must of gotten under your skin. Imagine that, you need to learn to relax kid...don't take everything so serious..so stop crying and yelling and go post some more pointless comments like me!!!

  • well since I'm no longer entertaining to you then good buy.

  • haha one last bit of entertainment, "good buy" to you as well HAHA

  • can i get 3 of these in crossfire

  • U can but ti's really pointless for almost everyone. Xfire and SLI you loose a lot of performance u can use only 50%-80% of the cards so unless u have money to throw away for almost no reason it's really not worth it to your average even hardcore gamer only to ppl who want to spend money on the latest products every month and show their rig

  • i agree with you AMDGuy64, despite your many thumbs down on your comment, there are some people who actually believe that if they have two cards they'll get 2 times the performance. computers have a decreasing increase of performance for each card they add. having four 4870s for example will (if lucky) deliver the performance of 2-3 times the performance of one 4870.

  • thank u considering you go from x16 speed x8 half the time and you lose so much money! Why buy 4 cards I mean do ppl honestly really use it? 1680x1050, 1024x768, 1900x1200 my 4870 1GB runs smooth on all these the only game I run on Ultra High without full AA & AF is Crysis.

  • im buying 2 hD 4890s because my rig will look better when seen through the window. Ill have TWO red radeon blocks of AWESOMENESS, and it fills up the case making it look 1337 :D

im sacrificing some gb on my storage HD for the 2nd one, but who cares about storage :)

  • u can even get 4 in crossfire with the msi board

  • I helped my friend order for a compete computer parts setup on newegg, the deal included the hd 4890 and amd p2 quad core. Were really looking forward to puting the computer together tomorrow and bench marking it.

  • ATI Radeon HD 4890 is AWESOME!!!

  • so wat is better the 4890 or gtx275

  • lol was asking the same =P

  • gtx275 runs faster. about 5-10 % in games.

but the 4890 comes closer and closer to the 275 with higher definitions and AA.

  • A lot of it is drivers too... sadly nVidia always seems to have the software edge. ATi is catching up though.

  • performance is almost the same but 4890 is much cheaper so go with ati 4890

  • the HD 4890 is better at 24 inch,

but the 275 would win at higher resolution, another reason for the 4890 is that its still much cheaper than the 275

  • @CRW5900 I have a 19 inch =D beats the heck out my old 275

  • My dad said hes gonna get me 1 of 4890!

:) my old 1 is 8800GTX it always got crash

  • Learn to spell, kid.

  • Hey guys, should i buy a sapphire 4890 right now, or wait for the 5870, cause my 3870 died, and im stuck with geforce 7300GS right now, and theres no way i could play crysis, or anything with this peice of crap. I can survive a while without playing pc games, i could just play 360, but do u guys think its worth waiting for the 5870, when i should just get a 4890 right now?

  • You might as well, the DX11 cards are going to be an over-priced gimmick when they first come out, seeing as NO games will fully use DX11. Look at the 8800GTX (Ultra) when it came out, it was ridiculously highly priced, yes it was good back then, but if you waited a bit, more DX10 cards came out which were basically as good and cost a lot less. May as well buy a 4890, it'll last you, unless you want to spend a lot on a DX11 card for no reason.

  • yea, i guess your right. Im gonna buy a 4890 tomorrow, and ill just crossfire it later on, if i cant max out crysis 2. thx for the advice.

  • Well im ordering my 4890 tonight so, its best to get it sooner really

  • did you know that money is unlimited, you could earn them anytime

my opinion is just to get 4890 2gb just 190 dollars

  • I need help guys, people say that some cards are really big and that you won't be able to put them in your computer.

Knowing that my CPU's lenght is 16 inches, and that the HD 4890 is 9.5 x 3 x 11.8 inches,do you think i will be able to put in it?

  • It's all about the 295 baby.

  • Yea but you can buy 3 4890's for the money with which you would get one 295.

  • Yeah, but you have to have one hell of a (your)motherboard and case to hold them :P

  • The 4890 is basically a 4870 that can clock MUCH higher, all thanks to a cap ring and better internal timings.

A 1GHz overclock is common, bump the memory enough(1.2, 4.8 effective read is easy to hit) and you can get a %15 boost in performance in GPU-limited situations... Core-i7 comes to mind.

It's great at eating through AA without taking much of a performance hit.

Good Price:Performance for a high end card.

  • thanks

  • ? they work fine

  • they do now and i'm a nvidia fan .....but this will change soon

  • does any one know the measurment in lenghth for this card is?

  • This guy is a tard, the 4890 is way more powerfull all around then the 275. Just look at the specs.

  • surprisingly its not... the gtx275 even comes up against the gtx280!

  • that it no benchmarks

  • how much does this card cost in euros?

  • In the US, a direct conversion would be 150-180euro.

  • yeah just found out the cheapest here is around 135 euros i mean that is just crazy if you look at nvidias 275gtx which is supposed to compete with this card and is around 200+ euros its amazing

  • The price for the 4890 went waaaay down. It's because they're going to roll out 4GB 4890x2s pretty soon.

Those will be pretty expensive though I bet. I somehow think 3x 4890s is going to be cheaper, or roughly around the same price as one of those things. 4GBs is nuts though...

  • i bought that card but OC version

  • no i dont know shit about heatsinks, im not even sure if i know what they are lol

  • I overclocked my 4890 to 1ghz

  • hey wat temps do u get? im gonna buy 1 thats already overcloked to 1ghz from xfx

  • I don't know,but I will find out,I don't think its that hot anyway because its the sapphire vapour X edition... :P

  • thx and do u know any 4890 heatsinks as i can see this reaching 80c and above

  • GTX 275 is not really better then 4890. I would say both cards have the same kind of power, and both share very impressive blows with the GTX 285, the fastest single-gpu card on the card. So yeah, both are high end and get them depending on your preference.

  • The GTX 275 Stock is faster than the Stock HD 4890, but since the 4890 overclocks better, its surpasses the GTX 275 OC at a 20% core and memory clock increase.

    I own a Sapphire HD 4890 XT

    and a EVGA GTX 275

  • 850mhz - 3600mhz overclock

  • who win>> gtx275 vs ati4890?

  • They are around the same. gtx275 is very little better. Any reso 1680x1050 the 275 is better. the hd4890 uses less power and noise than the 275.

I would go for the 4890. but thats me.

  • ah ok thanks, so 4890 is mor efficient? Also say i had an core i7 4gb ram and this card, could i run crysis at around 30fps+?

  • cpu is fine. the 4890 got better fps in crysis than the 275 they are very close cards some people say the 275 is better others say 4890. but for in crysis 4890 got better fps and in farcry2 it also bet it.

  • ak7kid yes you can. crysis will run fine. altough you still cannot play at a decent 40fps on very high settings with AA maxed out. you will need a dual gpu solution for that but it is good enough you won't see that much diffrence between high and veryhigh anyway. this card can play every other game out there on the market maxed out including farcry 2 which uses an optimized version of the crytek engrine.

  • Crysis 1680x1050 High 4XAA 16XAF

    [GTX 275] Average = 37fps, Minimum = 23fps

    [HD 4890] Average = 30fps, Minimum = 17fps

    Overclocked Results

    [GTX 275] Average = 43fps, Minimum = 27fps

    [HD 4890] Average = 34fps, Minimum = 19fps

    GTX 275 > HD 4890

The GTX 275 gives a higher minimum fps giving smoother overall gameplay.

If you don't care for Crysis then they're pretty much neck and neck in every other game.

  • Crysis does'nt have AF...

  • you can force it in nvidia control panel or ati's control panel though

  • serious !!?

  • yea

  • cyris is an nvid based game so you should try and benchmark a valve game or somthing

  • Thats 4890 at stock. The HD 4890 1ghz is currently the fastest single gpu card on the market.

  • nope GTX 285 is the fastest single chip card :)

  • putting driver quality and game adaptibility aside, i assure you that the HD 4890 atomic has the fastest core clock out all the single gpu's at stock settings. The HD 4890 atomic overclocked has been shown to surpass the GTX 285 in many games.

  • I agree but unfortunately we are talking about real world and real games where architecture of the GPU is less important than FPS :)
