  • where were the defilers?

  • @eigenlambda i think the cost on been able to create defilers, was too much and there were no real big fights

  • maybe boxer was stalling so he could have a rest

  • boxer should have went for his trademark nukes... definitely would have been effective nuking from out of range. Maybe he didn't start his nuke obsession just yet.

  • great game - u must be tired from the hour long commentary, and going on to do the rest of the best of 5 consecutively? props

  • good game !!

both players being very 'manly' although they're not reach: yellow not giving up and boxer not expanding !!

  • yes! play until the end! when i learned how to play chess, i was taught to never resign, and play on until i was beaten, and i've won more than a few games coming from positions that would have lead others to resign.

  • wellll, i would say, "amateurs" instead of "kids" and "grandmasters" instead of "good players" to be more accurate... but still, i believe that more likely than not, b/t two evenly matched players, the one who wants to win more, is more likely to win... if u want any justification at all, just watch nada. i hear he stays until the very end on many, if not most, of his games

  • it aint overtil the fat lady sings

  • Around part 3 up until even part 5 perhaps Yellow still had some hope. Boxer at one point was down to a single command center, which was in his mined-out main. If Yellow had managed a really excellent drop or two he actually could've starved BoxeR out, since he himself was at three mining bases. He didn't manage it, though, and at the very end here it got a little silly when it was clear Yellow had nothing left. On the other end, BoxeR had GREAT play at the beginning, but it slipped a lot.

  • Man, this was a good game, a long game, but good nonetheless. I really liked the fact that yellow did what he did, he's like a small dog, just fighting to the end. And he did so valiantly albeit a bit futilely but, oh well, the entertainment value was there.

And it shows the staying power of Yellow who just used his lisks and lurkers nicely to the end.

  • LOL zerg base infested with murines (think about it) ;D

  • thanks for the commentary, but i dont know if games from this era are the best for you to spend your time on (since the players are pretty much still learning). I think games from about a year or two later would be far more interesting to see, especially games around the time before Boxer goes into the AF, so around 2003-2006 would be the best, I'd guess.

  • man i wish pro players still dressed up like power rangers that is sick. Im pretty sure they could kill some one with those shoulder pads

  • Boxer could have won that game far earlier had he expanded when he had map control, and secured them with a bunker, tanks, and turrets. That would have been much more effective.

  • hmmm why didn't yellow use defilers?? Dark swarms should be the way to go. No?

  • i think he just didnt have the time to set up the tech, boxer kept taking out all his tech buildings, he rebuilt his lair like 5 times and his hive like 3.

  • @ 7:48, did he really say "Yellow here ferrying, looks like, 2000 drones.." o.O

    Haha!

  • nice, especially to see how playing sc has developed to the style today.

  • cool commentary. yellow looks like data from star trek. but anyways, gg. boxer really likes to keep his expansions at a minimal and concentrate on micro. looking forward to the rest.
