  • Mike was best, Kid was awesome, Kid more of a leader, but both talented.

  • I was at this game. Epic night.

  • piazza ............ the best met catcher

  • @piazza4life Opening Day 1985 was it? Gary Carter wins the game in walk-off fashion -- his first game as a Met? Mikey may be the best ever but never forget the previous best and now very, very close 2nd best The Kid. One a Hall of Famer, one soon to be. Not bad. Too bad the Mets suck ass. Hopefully they can one day again instill some real confidence in us Mets fans. Unfortunately a 12 game lead on September 1st ain't even good enough for that. Not yet.

  • I was at this game. The crowd literally was cheering for Piazza his whole at bat and beyond for a couple of minutes. One of the greatest Mets ever.

  • i would have too, he was my idol in the 1990s when i was younger...

  • I was at this game in the loge area on the 3rd base side. I will always remember this day and his homeruns against pedro when all of Shea cheered him for scoring against the Mets. We cheered because we got to see our favorite Met hit 2 more homeruns in his stadium.

  • and then when went up to bat for the last time, everybody booed him and he almost hit a homerun (which would've given the padres the lead).

  • @jagarcia1 He hit two HR too. Almost hit a third.

  • Man I miss Mike, but it's nice to see that Mets fans still cheer for him as a Padre, the true Mets fans at least, it just shows how much of an impact he's had on the team...

  • with all due respect to mets fans, hydrojin7...Lo Duca will never rise up to the occasion of Piazza's greatness in NY....remember, you guys worshipped Mike Piazza during glory days in NY...and no offense, paul lo duca to me is pretty overrated, yeah the guy can hit, but he never pulls through in situations.

  • As much as I love Lo Duca, he'll never hit 40 home runs and carry the Mets to the playoffs like Piazza did in 1999 and 2000.

  • ive been a mets fan for as long as i can remember. i guess i was jus upset he didnt stay with the mets at the time. ahh fuck it. go mets!

  • Yeah, totally a decision made by the Mets, not Piazza. They didn't renew his contract. Mike would never have left NY on his own.

  • lo duca is garbage ok piazza is a god

  • Lo ducaa was one of the most disgrace in the mets ever how sare you say that

Lo duca is garbage he will get booed if he goes to play the mets now

I think piazza is better now as a 39 year den loduca will ever be

  • awww man classic!
