Hey dude! Just thought you might like this, I looked it up for you, cos I was curious :)

Knopfler uses a strat on his neck pick up (Your selecter on the middle notch) and his tone turned down all the way. your amp should be set up to sound nice clean, then just do this and add distortion. I reckon you'd sound SWEET through that :D keep playing

haha funny thing he always uses his fender for MFN but on the single cover it has him with a gibson les paul. just a little FF(fun fact)

What effect/setting do you use for this? It sounds really close to Knopflers version.

I used the chorus setting on my amp, and i added some reverb. I also had the middle and treble turned down to about 4, and the bass on 10.
