  • 240 we meet again..

  • for cueing, i use the traktor kontrol x1's hotcue for the first beat. in the past, it's hard to get the stanton t60 to full normal speed and cue so i decided to go for the X1

  • very nice tip bro , i cut a pair of vinyl sleeves and turned them into slip mats, the torque problem is still there, maybe i need to hunt for a better slip mat or a better wax paper alternative

  • Im a begginer.. i dont own any vinyls so can i jsut hook it up to my computer and play jams from there?

  • @JokersFollower You can do that, but you need certain cables and connections. You will also need software on your computer to play it, such as Serato Scratch Live or something like that. I'm not very good with this, as I have never connected to a computer. Look around on the web or ask some other youtube users. Otherwise, load up on some vinyl! Try and find a local shop near you, or look online for shops. Even if its some old vinyls from 60s or 70s, rock, pop whatever. Anything can Work. Practce

  • trace out wax paper the size of the slip mat, it helps with the friction....

  • @porkfriedbacon I've tried that, its works good.

  • hey did you spend like 300 to 400 dollars on those well i am getting some for 100 each at a pawn shop ooo bro whats up now and that song is for homos

  • Where We Put CDS On THis COnsole

  • Can you plug in headphones to this turntable?

  • @ninenine909 You plug your headphones into the mixer, which is connected to the turntable.

  • hey whats the difference between 60 and 62, and where can i find the slipmat u mentioned

  • dude the reason y those turntable suck is because they are belt drive u need to get direct drive

  • @cozby89 These turntables are direct drive. They are just a weak direct drive because they are some of the less expensive model direct drive you can buy. They are still good for a beginner though.

  • @EGS3 oh that fuckin sucks like i just bought the numark ibattlepack and the motors suck so bad im just gonna save up and get technics or a ns7 but idk yet

  • @cozby89 They are direct drive, just weak.

  • you can always use wax paper

  • what model are the white colored ones!? i cant find it anywere!!!

  • how is the power vs. the t62 because i saw a t62 cheaper than the t60 i bought and the t60s power anint that great, people have said the t62 has a strong torque but i dont know

  • hey you think $225.00 dollars for a pair of stantons t.60's and a behringer djx750 is a good deal.??? please reply

  • hi, do you have inner groove distortion at the end of the lps?

  • thx, dude :)

  • so do u use the slipmats well the record is on, im a noob and wanna get into djing

  • @djBLIRR Yes you do. The slipmats help the record slip more smothly on the turntable platter so that when you hold the record down, the record will stop but the platter will continue to spin under it.

  • actually, it takes less then one second to start the record, factory standard. u also could get rid of a lot of your problems with torque and the slow start if u didnt have it on 45 rpm when the record u have in the video is meant to be played at 33 rpm. im not trying to sound like a dick, but its true

  • @Robot0Ninja I realize this. I was a very big beginner at the time. Honest mistake.

  • butter rugs man, or get some starch to stiffen the slipmate it makes it much more slick.

  • Sorry I haven't been responding to comments as much. I'm in California now attending university and I've got a wicked small apartment that I share with a roommate so it wasnt so practical to bring my decks out there, plus I've just been busy. I keep up to date with stuff and I still love the music, so I'll do my best to answer questions.

Once again thanks a million for all the support and I'm so glad I could help any of you out there. Cheers.

  • Hey to everybody out there who continues to watch this video and my other overviews. Thanks to all of you!!! I can't believe this video have over 46,000 views and some of my other ones have over 1,000 and over 8,000, its crazy. I'm really happy that I could help all of you out.

  • hey dude nice turntables but you dont have to buy plastic records for under the slip mats just use the paper that comes from the insides of the records it makes it more slippery.

  • i dont care about the scratching.. will these work with software like virtual dj and serato?

  • @JaIrN Yes these decks will work with serato and all those digital tools. Don't ask me how to set it up though haha. i stick to analog.

  • @JaIrN i run one of these pos on serato and i can tell ya how to set ya shit up.

  • @JaIrN

i use these two decks with the traktor scratch duo and it works great

  • @zicha1 I'm planning on getting them with Traktor Scratch Duo as well. Did you replace the cartridges or slipmats? I wouldnt think the cartridge would matter that much because theyre being used to control the software. I plan on getting butter slipmats to fix the problem because those slipmats look terrible

  • @JaIrN if you dont care about scratching then why are you even a dj?! i swear this is why the dj game is over saturated. use a ipod!

  • @westup1213 maybe he mixes

  • dooood! I started on Numark TT1700's (the blue plastic ones!) be thankful that your not usin' those! I have a Str8-60 and that thing feels as good as a technics ( I have those too). Just use what ya got I guess.. cheers.

  • can i hook this up to virtual dj?

  • 1) yeh its your slipmats, i got think technic xray ones. Also a bit of polish under the standard slipmats works aswell. 2) I havent had a problem with the start/stop, could be yours?!?!?! 3) pitch has been alright with mine

  • Stantons are far better than any other out there, Especially the ST8 150's

  • the reason its stoping is cuz ur bringin it back too far..and btw you might want to put your turntables in a battle setup...

  • sould i buy t60 or t80???whats the best coice(for an amateur)

  • to get a better met you can trace a record on the plastic sheet it comes in and put that under the original slipmat it gives it more slip

  • Like he said in the vid, these turntables would be ideal for people starting off, so long as the platters are firm.., some low quality turntables have 'wobbly' platters which makes it difficult to cue and drop in tunes, as the needles just skip off easily. That said i know from experience that learning to dj with shit decks will make you a better dj in the long run so long as you persevere.

  • IS it good for just listening to Vinyl? Cause thats what im looking for?

  • can i record my vinyl onto cd using the t60

  • you should spin em around so the arm dosent get in the way

  • hey u can use wax paper and it works realy realy well by the way

  • can you tell me what album you're using in this video?

  • Hey nice vid im trying to get the stanton t-60 just have to get some more money! But i like that bt album you have! Do you know anywhere i could get it on the internet?

  • if turntables is really all your looking for, you might as well just wait and save your money for stanton str8 150's if stanton is what your looking at. Yeah obviously they're expensive but why waste your money on tables that will only take you so far, might as well get the good stuff, wait longer to purchase rather than blowing money on shit product and having to buy the good ones anyway later on, my first set was 1200's and a pioneer djm 400. I had to save but i survived, last longer

  • is dis a belt-drive? sounds like it...i thought it was direct

  • it is

  • This is a direct drive turn table.

  • Bro when your touching the turntable your applying to much pressure. When you touch it your supposed to stop the record only. When you did it you stopped both the record and the platter.

  • @JSTDG88 He said he's "lightly pushing down on it" & it already stops which means that the turntables don't have good torque. You have to apply the right amount of pressure to scratch & I believe he is applying just enough to get it to scratch.

  • @EGS3 so its good fro scratching porposes right??

  • @123asd260 Hey man, yeah these decks are good for scratching. The needle skips a little if you go crazy on them. But for the most part, I've never had a problem. Peace bro. Thanks for watching.

  • @EGS3 so if i do not want the needle to skip..i can change it right? thx for tha previous answer ;)

  • to jamesaustin, i've looked at your supposely mix vids, and let me say, keep working on your vibe. besides i got the funds to pay for them. my money, my decision, right.

  • just want another set.

  • are the stanton t60's good for mixing. i don't care about scratching much, i own a pair of 1200 for that

  • Yes, if you have a good mixer, the T.60s are good for mixer that's mainly what they are made for, they hold up really well for that.

Though why don't you just use your 1200s for mixing and scratching. You have the best of the best arguably. Unless you really want a separate pair of decks for scratching, if its for that reason then these are good, because they are probably the least expensive turntables and still can hold their own.

  • why the hell would you need a pair if you got 1200's

  • Hi, to everyone who has been asking about the track I play in this video, look at the first video response to this video. It is a video I made that shows the track I used in this demo. The video is called "BT Track from my Stanton T.60 Demo"

You should watch for a few reasons. It answers your wonders about the track. It shows brief glimpses of my room a year ago, which is rare footage. And most importantly I make a really stupid mistake in it.

Thank you to everyone, I mean this, who watches.

  • yeah. whats this track?

  • ive had these decks for about a year now and to get around the torque problem i use proper slip mats and then put a sheet of wax paper underneath it works perfectly.

  • which slipmats would you recommend? (i have the t.62 and also have this problem)

  • Butter Rugs by Qbert are great, if not i put wax paper between the platter and the slipmat. works real well!

  • @12CJ12 cheers for the reply.. i've tried the wax paper and it works a treat! still want to get new mats though, mine seem quite heavy

  • what vinal are you spinnin? i want it

  • i have a question. is it better to buy 2 str8 80's for 160 or buy 2 t60's with a m202 mixer and headphones for 300? if i get the str880s i might get a cheap numark m1 mixer.

  • what's the difference between this and T.62?

  • nothing except for the color

the T.62 is black top and the arm is black unlike the T.60 which is silver.

  • you uploaded this video 2 years ago, and your still trying to sell them!

  • haha no man, I just recently decided to sell them, about a month ago. I bought them back in 2007 I guess. I used them for a god year and a half, kind of got busy with other stuff and now going to college in California from the East Coast it would be a burden to unload them. If you know anyone who is interested please let me know. The cartridges are included.

  • I'll buy em. No joke.

  • Great review mate, really helpful

  • hey can u use these on a computer

  • na buddy i can get 2 t 62's and a mixer for like £80 new

  • where at?

  • where lol?

  • off a buddy

  • na buddy ur a fuckin lier

  • oh ya,really w.e dick'ed

  • im looking to get some stanton t 62's directs nd i was wondering if these were directs?

  • Hey great video man helped me out alot. I just bought a used pair of t.60s and i fixed the torque problem by putting wax paper under my slipmats. they work perfectly now!

  • in regards to the torque problem...I have the t.62 decks and i just bought a set of d-styles table cloth mats and they work quite well. just a light touch will stop the record and scratching will only slow the platter less than 3%.

  • you man, do you think stanton t 60 are better than the gemini tt 02 ?? ;)

  • they are. a lot. Though they are nearly the same price the santatons are MUCH better

  • to be honest man, I've never got the chance to try out the geminis. I've never really heard much about them either. I know stantons are more in demand just from what I've seen. Maybe do a little more research somewhere else and you could find the answer. Sorry I don't know more about them. Peace.

  • If you are interested please send me a private message letting me know. I don't want this video's comments to be filled up because I still want to answer questions if people have them. So if you still have a question about the t.60 keep posting and I'll help you out f I can.

Once gain You'll have to wait until May or June for me to put everything up on ebay but I might act faster if you are really interested.

Thank you everybody for reading this and thanks a lot for watching.

  • I need to set up an ebay account. I don't plan on actually putting it up for sale until late May or June. If you are interested and can wait a few months I am 95% sure that I will be selling all of my kit. I'll work out the details when the time comes but I know that the buyer will have to pay for the shipping wherever he or she may be and I will also be selling everything together most likely. i know someone who wants to dj will be buying and its much easier like that.

  • ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!

I have an announcement to make concerning my dj gear. In June i graduate from high school. I am planning on selling my two t.60s and the denon mixer and the headphones and possibly two speakers. I haven't been djing as much for the past year, even though I still love the music. I think its time for me to sell my equipment for some extra money going into college and i know a lot of people on here are probably interested. (Please continue reading above.)

  • Hey, nice review there. I am looking for a turntable for the only purpose of listening to my old records. I can't spend a fortune on a technics so i think stanton T60 is a good choice as do not want to mix or scratch. My question is can i get signal directly into the speakers or do i have to buy a mixer just for this purpose or an amplifier? Sry if this seems stupid but i don't know how this works. I used to have a combo with turntable included and i would just connect it to the the speakers.

  • Thanks, and I am almost positive you can connect the turntable directly to a speaker. Actually I am positive, you can do that pretty easily, you might need some inexpensive connector but thats it.

  • are the t60's the same as the t62's or is the t62's an upgrade to the t60's?

  • The t.62s are a slight upgrade of the t.60s. I don't know much about it but I think the t.62s have a slight torque upgrade or maybe come with a catridge I don't know really.

  • alright mate, ive had some cheap nasty turntables in the past and im looking to buy a pair of these but the problems iv had with some cheaper ones is that the plater isnt solid and wobbles when hard pressure is put on it like when scratching and this sometimes made the needle skip, could u tell me how solid the platter is? thanks mate

  • Hey, I've never had a problem with the platter wobbling or anything. Stanton seems to build their gear tough and as far as that goes I haven't had any problems with the quality of how everything is made. So no I don't think what you're describing will be a problem at all from what I have seen.

  • sorry for asking retarded questions but for turntablism and strictly scratching ... do I need 2 turn tables for starters ? or can I get away with a mixer and 1 turn table :) ? thanks btw

  • Yeah you should have 2

  • If you want to just scratch you might be able to LEARN to only scratch with one. But to truly learn this kind of music you need 2. One turntble plays the background beat and then you scratch on the other. Really I think you could just play yh background beat rhough a cd and then scratch. I don't do this to much and I don't know much about it so maybe thats not possible. Research it on scratching websites.

  • yea I only ment that option for a while until I gt some more money for a second turntable ... 2nd world countries like mine make it rather difficult tu buy good gear at once :)

found a mixer that supports usb, so i'll upload beats through that for a while :)

thanks alot mate for the info.

    Jah Bless :)

  • No problem man. The most important thing I think is that you're doing what you can to start djing. That means a lot, and you can take it as far as you want.

What country do you live in btw?

Let me know how everything goes.

    Peace.

  • i have the t.60's great tables.. wat i did for the torque problem is i put a peice of wax paper under the slip map and it works perfectly...

  • Check out my other video I have one about the song

  • where do you get the vinyls ?

  • what song is playing on this video? does anyone know?

  • yer i got my djlab.2 yesterday and the torque isant gr8 but ive just been testing it like moving the plater forward n backward and it works just find the platter doesnt stop their gr8!

  • Do you reccomend them? is the torque suck? loli think the torque wouldnt be a problem if you bought butter rugs ( special slipmats )

  • The torque isn't high like Technics or the higher-end model turntables, but it beats belt-driven turntables; and yes, with a good pair of slip-mats like butter rugs, frosted plates, or even help from flying carpets (or cut out wax paper) on the stock Stanton slip mats, they'll spin like butter.

  • technics arent that high in tourqe only about 1.5. the str8150 are so powerful, probably too powerful. they have 4.5 torque. they are also bout 200 quid cheaper. beats tech

  • the str8 150's are better than the 1210 mk5g's in every way except one, the name basically, theyre packed with more features, look a lot more stylish i think the str8 150's are stunnin little machines and as u say the torque, plus the straight tone arm amazing decks, and yes cheaper than 1210s aswell !!

  • tech's were made for clubs, the str8150 sound inferior in a club enviroment and with the metal finish tech's build quality beats any stanton.

  • Man, i thought it was just me. I knew that the str8 150 beat most technics turntables. I just wasn't sureee.

To me, i think stantons are underrated, or overlooked. Nowadays, technics are what most djs strive for. When you see a dj with stantons, you know that he has done his research.

To much djs just hop on the bandwagon. Im just 14, but thats what i think.

  • the str8 doesn't beat technics, technics is more basic but the build quality of technics, especially the tonearm is better than any turntable.

the best turntable in the world is the tech sl1200m5g,it's even better than vestax pdx2000mk2.

  • Tru dat.

I said it beats alot of technics turntables, like the sl1200 mk2. even the sl1200 mk5.

Btw its a '1210' mk5G. That turntable is fkin sick. Nothing beats that.

  • hey, i am new to dj equipment..

one question, do you have to have a mixer for the t60? or will it still be fine without one?

  • If you are going to buy two t.60s and you want to learn to mix then you do need a mixer. The absolute essential things to dj are two turntables, a mixer, and something to make sound (speakers, amp etc.) Without a mixer all you can really do is play the music. So yes you need a mixer.

  • What do people think of the stanton t 62??

  • its the T60 in black, bad deal

  • you must be putting far to much pressure on the record for the platter to stop completey...

the motor is not that weak..

  • If you have a t.60 you know its torque limitations.

  • yeah you don't even need to stop the platter if you're holding the record

  • haha one more thingg

what kind are very good for

    scratching but have low cost?

  • T.60's are good enough just make sure you get the right Cartriges

  • how about the cartridges that come with the T60's in the DJLAB.2 package? Are they alright for scratching?

  • and does the package come with needles

  • yer the djlab.2 comes with 2-t60s 1-m.201 1 set of headphones and 2-50mb cartridges lol i ordered this kit last friday

  • Oh && do u need two of them?

  • i have a question im buying

a stanton turntable for my bf

im not familiar to what else he might

need to actually get started on mixing

    and stuff. Any suggestions?

&& where can i get sum of those records?

  • Two Santons, a used mixer stanton is "ok" I would look for a used numark, headphones and cartriges donb't forget to buy two

  • Hey, the other poster pretty much said it. You do need two turntables and a mixer. Get a cheaper mixer and let him upgrade instead of starting high. Cartridges are probably the most important thing. They are easy to forget because you just expect the turntable to come with a needle lol but sometimes it doesn't. The store you are buying from will point you to which ones you need to get for t.60

You might need to check on a speaker system a well. To see what you can hitch all of this up to.

  • nice review..realy usefull

  • when you said "plastic disc under the slipmat" that gave me a great idea, i just put another record under there (it's a 7" 1979 julio iglesias record, so who cares:p) and that seems to help alot. I don't know if it works better if you put a 12" under there, since i don't have 'disposable' 12" records, but thanks for the hint!

  • I don't really have an 7" records, but if it helps you thats great, I'm glad I could help.

  • yeah gud vid do u hav to hav 2 turntables coz im oin to but one turn table nd a mixer nd then sav for another turn table and btw wat do u need wif the turntables like wat do u need to work it good

  • do you need two turntables?

  • If you want to dj you really need to invest in two turntables. I recommend sticking to one format. For example get two vinyl turntables or two cd turntables. But you could also switch it and get one of each.

Simply though, yes, if you want to dj you have to buy two turntables.

  • THAT TOURQUE IS SO WEAK

  • I've had my t60's for a few months. Due to the lack of torque, Im looking at better decks. If you are looking for scratching decks, avoid!

  • Dude, after watching this vid I decided to get some as my first set, got a good deal on them, $250 with a mixer and used them for the first weekend I got them, they were sitting in my living room for over a month and I didn't even touch them cuz the torque is so bad. They look nice though but definitely not for scratching. Sold them for $350 shortly after that.

  • Whatever works for you, to anyone else I wouldn't really recommend these if all you want to do is scratch and be focused as a hip hop dj, if that is not you focus though, I still believe they are a good choice for beginners.

  • NOT ENOUGH TORQUE.

  • what a piece of garbage that turntable is.

  • so aren't the t60s good for scratching? because this dude is killing the t60: ?v=X1YWmTl5V4I

  • i just take wax paper and cut it 2 the shape of a slip mat and put that underneith.u can use the plastic record holder shit inside ure record case. but i just used wax paper

  • yea man, I've tried that before, works pretty good.

  • Is it possible to replace the straight tonearm from the stanton t.60 into a s shaped tonearm??

    Grtz

  • to be honest I'm not sure about this. It seems like it would be possible. Try asking at the place where you buy the t.60s. I bet if you message a youtube user called briansredd he will have the answer for you.

  • dude ru a dj or r they stolen and ur sellin dodgy gear on net lol? sell drugs man its easier mate u dont get all the bollocks questions!!! :)

  • I'm not selling anything.

  • probably been asked already, but whats the tune playing?

  • check out my other videos theres one about the song thats playing in this video

  • OK I haven't been responding to comments at all recently about the last 3 weeks because I've been on a long vacation to Eastern Europe. I went to countries like Russia, Czech Republic and Estonia. Anyway I got back a few days ago and I'll respopnd to any questions if they are asked now. For one I'm not selling my stuff, Ill show you where to get it at good prices but I don't plan any time soon on selling what I have especially if I have to ship it.

  • nice one, you went to estonia. i live here. respek D:

  • can u dj or do u just have the gear to look cooool

  • im in california, read a few coments down brah!

  • ok vice dude how much? and where are you located

  • Oh and put the slipmats back on after incase you don't

  • I have these and the torqe problem is so simple to get over. Just take off the slipmats and polish the pallet. They work fine now.

  • This Turntable is shit! I got one last year! I will never buy this turntable again... Now I'm using the Technics 1210er. They're great!

  • im just curious but how old are u? cause im 13 and i need some beginner turntables... these looked like good turntables for someone starting out

  • got some t60s for sale dude with a mixer, everything in great shape. hit me up if u like.

  • ok where are you located and how much for everything?

  • im in cali, Santa Barbara, 375 for 2 t60 turntables and a beringher vmx300 mixer . origional boxes and butter rug slip mats. they still look brand new.

  • r your slip mats on upside down? sometimes that helps m8!!!

  • whats the name on that tune your playing? sounds good!

  • the best deck for torgue is the stantons str 150s they have the word strongest torgue motor but are alot more these r still good tho stanton r klling it now days

  • im fairly new to this and think im gonna buy me one of those.. seems pretty good for its price
