  • Josh: When I say special, I MEAN special.. I'm talking a denny's type deal with plastic alligators wearing clothes... come on what gal doesn't want her proposal to be there? LMAO. Actually without spending a ton of money they could have taken her to the ocean or a park, somewhere naturally gorgous and he could have popped the question then.. *sighs* you don't have to spend a fortune on a proposal, just be creative.

  • Lol, people hating on the Duggars. Funny thing is that the parents love each other and are not going to get a divorce, their kids are all more well behaved, nicer and not fak/shallow like 95% of today's kids, and they're all truly good people who don't force their beliefs on anyone else, but truly live a good life. So stop hiding behind your little computer screens with your hate filled typos. Get a grip, get a life, and get some manners.

  • "we think you're the one" LOL dad's in love

  • 6:00 "Umm... I'm gay"

  • josh has gained some weight since then!

  • I definitely agree with monitoring your childrens internet and media access, but why the need to so strictily monitor the eldest children who are practically adults? By the time that they are a certain age they should be able to be trusted with a little bit of freedom.

  • @DuggarFamily92 Well I was actually wondering the same thing but I think it's because they don't trust what is out there...it's not that they don't trust their kids. My parents limited my internet access too.

  • Very amazing guy. God has a guy like this for each girl out there trusting Him to bring the perfect one along. Sooooooo happy for Anna

  • It's nice to have the word 'courting' come back.

Are the Duggars a member of any particular Baptist denomination or group that reflects their beliefs and lifestyle?

  • @RichKnight2010 I think they're just Baptist...not sure what kind of Baptist exactly :/ but yes they are Baptist

  • Josh is my hero! He is Anna's boss!

  • I am personally not relegious, I am spiritual though

I feel that people should belive wethever they want, also most people who are christians live their lives in respectfull way because they follow teachings which are very positive. Problems come when we start not to exept other people and their belives, I hope we can all understand each other and exept our differences

    Love & light

  • i love Josh & Anna.

  • I find this old-fashioned courtship to be both somewhat charming and creepy at the same time.

  • @TheCaliforniaPrinces hahahaha mostly creepy.

  • @TheCaliforniaPrinces

It only seems creepy because we live in such an unnatural dogs-in-heat culture now. "Courting" used to be universal, not too long ago.

  • lmfaooo @ nice restaurant with their plastic swordfish on the walls LMAO

  • AWW!!! How classy of Josh to ask Anna's father for her hand in marriage!

  • @monettejay

i agree, they are a joy to watch, & joshua was raised obviously the right way, he will continue to be a god fearing man, & a good husband & daddy !!

i love watching him & anna & the baby !!

  • @MonetteJayLopez It would be nice if more guys would do that!

  • Nice family... shame they are Christians.

  • They are nice people BECAUSE they are Christians. What do you have against Christians? You know that's very very veryyyyy offensive to some people, including myself... you should watch what you say because you are not right, and come off as very unintellegent and ignorant. If your not Christian, that's fine... just don't bash people who are.

  • @xoxoixoxo Oh trust me, the majority of Christians are probably nice. But a HELL of a lot of Christians are NOT nice. They are the most ignorant, hurtful and nasty ppl. And as far as not being right, I respect that you think that, if you respect that I think YOU are wrong.

  • Some Christian people are ignorant, hurtful and nasty... as are some people from other religions. You can find horrible people no matter their religion... and the fact that you are specifically talking about Christians is offensive and ignorant and nasty.

  • @xoxoixoxo You have a point. I stand corrected. I apologize for offending you.

  • Thank you for being understanding... you don't have to agree with me or think I'm right and your wrong... but my point was just made to make you realize that there are TWO sides.. not just one right or wrong one :). Thank you for being respectful... shows a lot of class.

  • @xoxoixoxo Very kind of you and I do see what you are saying, thank you for letting me see your point, I do appreciate it. :)

  • No problem :)

  • @xoxoixoxo

i am so glad you said that!!

being a christian is not as easy as some people think!

for instance i USED to be a jehovah wittness, & i go on a site to help people to the lord, I get called swear words all the time, & names, so ya, i love to see someone stand up 4 believers & r faith!!

    god bless

  • Thanks, I am so glad you discovered Christianity and God. God bless.

  • @myscongeniality you are a retard. just so ya know.

  • @luvstevew And your qualifications to prove this? oh... have none?? THEN SHUT YOIUR MOUTH.

  • @myscongeniality If they wern't Christians I can say that he would not have come out as good as he did! Props to Michelle and Jim Bob for their awesome godly parenting!

  • sigh...19 people before you in line for that awesome roller coaster...

19 parking spaces that could've been free.

A higher chance of a super conservative religious idiot being next to you on an 8-hour flight...

  • I think my da would piss himself laughing if some lad asked could he marry me LOL

  • I'm just shocked how judgementally and mean peoples are to the Duggars. I mean really....this family buggs you that much.

  • these people are fucked in the head

  • por que no tiene subtitulos?? :(((

  • What if the girl doesn't have a father?

Who does the guy ask then?

  • My friend doesn't have a father and her sisters fiance asked their older brother. So I'm thinking like the oldest male close relative. So like brother, grandfather, uncle.

  • Interesting.

  • Wish me luck guys. I've had 7 kids total so far and before my fertility welters, I hope I have 20 kids total. My sister has had only 4 and she only wants 6, but my brother is just getting married and hopefully he can have at least 10 so our kids can play together. :D

  • you are just plain stupid we are in a resecssion you need to get attention some way else . Idoit 12 09 09

  • you need to STOP. like really

  • Jim Bob and Michelle are constantly contradicting themselves. They always say that they leave it up to their kids to make their own decisions, such as Josh and courtship, but then they mandate that they have a chaperone with them at all times. So I guess its really not up to Josh to make the decision himself on what he will/ wont do before marriage. If it was really up to Josh, they would entrust him on making the right decisions himself without the need of a chaperone following at all times.

  • are they mormon? the only ppl I know that mandate a chaperone are mormon..and I really think its silly. They raised him to be a good kid, they should give him that trust. I totally agree.

  • i'm pretty sure they are Baptist, i looked it up before. =)

  • @novack86 They think you better be safe than sorry. They want Josh to make the right decision and yes hes a good kid and I dont think they needed a chaperone

  • i think its a good idea for them to not watch alot of TV or go on the computers alot because alot of people probably couldn't go a week without facebook or youtube including myself, i just think its sad how they can pretty much control our lives:( But there a great family i love how they do so many family things!!!!

  • its so sweet. they make such a great couple and barely over a year after they are married they have a gorgeas baby girl

  • ;- )

  • oblongfan1 I feel sorry for you, those kids have the best lives! They are what a family is supposed to be. Unlike alot of families I know who have no respect or no morals.

  • these people are disgusting. no surprise theyre religious nuts. they keep breeding worst than animals. they think thats the only purpose of life. as most christians do. feel bad for those kids. hope they dont give in into this religious crap.

  • It sound so rehearse. I bet Anna parents knew he was calling, knew they were gonna be on a speaker phone and knew they were gonna be air for this interview. Anna and Josh only saw each other a once and had a long distance phone relationship less then a months before he done this. Then brought her back to Arkansas to date her. I think Josh is gay, he probably pray about it to cover it up and use Anna to do just that. JB is against gay life style, I'm sure. With the conservative thing and all. LOL

  • that's what I'm talking about.

  • If this family is "messed up" then so is basically every American family since the founding of this country until this sick culture of sluts and whores became the norm.

  • How exactly did he meet her? They live in Arkansas, and she lives in Florida. I'm confused...

  • They met through mutual friends at a home school conference in TX.

  • Gator Landing in Palatka Florida.

  • wowo so now what 18 grandkids? lmaoo i stopped watching this at the 15th child geeeezz .....the mom looks pretty good having all those babies.......i say more power to them maybe theyll make it to the 20 child..

  • 'The Lord is leading me to pusrsue a relationship with her", "Courtship is asking the young lady's father if you can get to know her better".... does anyone else notice that LOVE is never mentioned in this scenario?? Love and passion are the most important aspects to a serious relationship, conservative or not!! This seems a little sad...

  • in another video he says he 'just loves her so much' but yeah i know what you mean ... they're weird that way :P

  • What a polite young man Josh is and all the Duggar kids! I never see any kids as polite as them.

  • @kikipoo25 Well, you should see one of our homescool conferences! Everyone is SO lovely.

  • courtship is a good idea. I've done mainstream style of dating for a long time. I have decided to do courtship as well. I don't think I will do the whole "first kiss on wedding day thing". I think I will during the engagment. With courtship, you get to know the person better, then to say if you are hanging all over each other. Trust me!

  • I find it funny that they make a tv show but don't let their kids watch much tv

  • they watch some t.v.

they said they agreed to do the show for encouragment and a ministry! :D

  • These kids are really fortunate to have been brought up in such a loving environment that they can have such conviction and faith. I'm not religious and anti-indoctrination, but there's something to be said for people who actually know how to live Religion's universal doctrine of love

  • what a beautiful family!

josh is so sweet & his new wife anna, love them all1

  • Hmm...Josh and Anna don't seem as weird now that they are married. Their baby daughter will be born in two months or so. :)

  • Josh is going to be a father and once again a big brother. His mom's pregnant with number 19. I bet it's going to be a boy.

  • OMG, when I saw this episode, I thought the idea of this kind of courtship was so weird. But then I kept thinking, it depends on how you want to look at it. :/

Not everybody is as ordinary in today's standards.

  • hahaha, special.

  • Thanks for the 18 kids and counting videos! I would love if you put more up!!

  • Probably a teen but looks 35-40.

  • that's because their conservative, very commendable!

  • Anyone know how old Josh is?

  • 21. And so is Anna now.

When they were married, they were both 20. They were 15 or so when they met.

  • I can admint that their values are a little bit different from mine, but those kids are probably the most well-mannered children I've seen on these reality shows.

  • Josh is such a sweetie. :">

  • I see all the negative comments and I envy their shelter, there would be far less divorce and fatherless children, if more people lived life like this.

  • @FreakMagnet66 and way more overpopulation

  • @FreakMagnet66 I agree!

  • @FreakMagnet66 A to the freakin men on that! So much hateful comments probably from Jealous people who wish this would happen for them so they gotta make nasty, snide, remarks. For whatever reason their lives are so miserable or they just enjoy trying to create DRAMA because they have nothing in their lives better to do than to just hate.

Better to be happy than a miserable, angry all the time preg.

  • My youth pastor did the same thing, and his wedding is in a few days. He is also planning to kiss his fiance for the first time on the wedding day. He and a few other people, including me, have decided to wait for one god has for us.

  • they are ass backwards, they dont let thier kids watch much tv but wanna plaster the whole family's face on it, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee its retarted

  • WTF?! You do not need to ask her dad for permission to date OR propose to her! You want a relationship like that with HER not her father or mother (I doubt the mother makes ANY decisions the way all these families live) WTH is wrong with these families? They hardly knew each other before they got married. Neither dated dated, kissed or did ANYTHING with anyone else. The first person you date isn't usually the one you end up with. They even had chaperones on all their dates and their ADULTS!

  • You pursue a serious relationship with someone by getting engaged?! Since when? Their marriage will last because they are too sheltered and scared to try to live in the normal world. Their families don't believe in divorce. They lived in separate states and only got together and talked a few times and she's the one?!

Did y'all see the engagement video? How awkward and was that? You can tell they hardly know anything about each other and had no idea how to act around each other... Yikes.

  • jessa (the one with the wavy black hair) actually doesn't seem psychotic and shes pretty hot haha

  • have they really only talked to each other?

  • Did Josh have a bachelor party?

  • yeah right!!

  • his bachelor party was that he went to disney land and saw minnie wearing that oh so sexy knee long dress.......xDXDXD

  • Did you see Jessa and Jinger wearing knee length dresses in the home school conference episode? Wonder how Michelle and Jim Bob felt about that...

  • I love this show.

  • I like how all the decisions are made by men. (If it was vice versa I wouldn't think it would be fair either)

  • I think its really cool that got married young. It seemed like a real blessing. Now, she's expecting! I'm so excited!

  • why they gaved all the kids names that star with J? I don't get it... and it's kinda creepy too me

  • They gave the kids names with J, because their first three kids (Josh, Jana and John- David) were named with J, just because they liked those names... no specific reason. When they had their fourth (Jill) they decided to name her with a J too, in case she was the last and had to be the only one with no J name.

  • I dislike how women are treated as property in this show. It's wonderful that this young couple found each other and all, but would it not make more sense to enter into a marriage after having gotten to know the person first? The conservative values in this show make me quite sick. it seems like a world where women are good for nothing but giving birth and cooking dinner. I'm not trying to offend. Everyone is entitled to make the choice as to how they lead their lives, but this saddens me.

  • It's all up to them to live by those traditions but while I don't believe in premarital sex I do think you should build up a relationship independantly before you get married. I don't think you can do that with chaperones around. And I also believe that parental consent for marriage should come from BOTH parents (including the mother) of BOTH parties (so not only the woman but also the man)

  • Right on! lol

  • While asking for her hand is oldfashioned, my fiancee did the same.

  • well its on discovery health or the freakshow channel. this show falls right between i didnt know i was pregnant and the worlds biggest man.

  • don't watch it then

  • It`s kinda young to be engaged at 20, In my opinio.

  • hell yea

  • Yeah it is really young to be engaged at 20 but I've heard of young people who have been engaged or married younger than that when I was in high school I remember young couples who were still children themselves that were married and they were still in high school

  • lol josh must watch Lost alot. "Special'

  • uhhh, its called common courtesy && common sense to ask the dad permission 2 marry the daughter. its respect. who doesn't do that? geeze.

    ///////////////////

    their "courting rules" are ridiculous.

  • my dad didnt do that

  • If Anna's father said no you work at it so that he really knows that you are the right one for their children. and after time ask again

  • what the hell is wrong with all of you, this family has everyones best interests in mind and do what is best for their children. who cares about their names and what they wear it was THEIR decision to have this many children and way of life.

  • since when do you ask a father for permission to marry his daughter? What would have happened if anna's father wouldve said no. I bet Josh never thought of that because if he would have, he would have never asked for permission to marry anna

  • its always been like that. its about respect

  • That is how it was done in the past. It is tradition.

  • Dano-you must be a dumbass. It's polite, courtious and RESPECTFUL to ASK for a daughter's hand in marriage. It goes way back to the 1800's even, or further, hell, why not? Whats the big deal? It's the nice thing to do.

  • And you must be a bitch! I was just asking a simple question you dont have to be so rude to me!

  • Dano-lmao. So, b/c someone DISagrees with you, he or she is a bitch? Sorry to disappoint. But, I'm rather open-minded-which is why I reacted the way I did to your comment. It's ignorant & you could very well LOOK IT UP before you come down on a family you really dont even care about.

  • its the girl's choice to get married and what if the dad said no would you break it off? no its the girls choice to date you

  • neon-Uh, no. Not in Duggarville. JimBob makes ALL the decisions for HIS girls, as Anna's daddy made for her in regards to dating Joshie here. Duh! They ALL admit this & approve--as sick as it is.

  • Dano didn't call you a bitch b/c you disagree with her/him. He/she called you a bitch b/c you were rude ("Dano-you must be a dumbass.")

Calling someone a dumbass is not a very open-minded thing to do. If you thought someone was ignorant and you really are open-minded, then you would have explained calmly, not rudely, why he asked her father for her hand.

  • that's exactly what i'm saying....this ain't the 1800s, it's 2009 and if anyone told me i had to ask my girlfriend's father to marry her, i would laugh so hard it wouldn't make no sense...lmao

  • I heard somewhere that Jim bob likes long hair, so that's why Michelle and all the girls wear their hair long. Same with the 'J' names - his initial is J, so all the kids are sorta named after him. They seem happy with this, but I would have a problem with my husband dictating my fashion sense. I wonder if he's the one behind the constant wearing of long skirts, too...

  • funny lol

  • personley I find the "J" names really weird. Jinger really

  • i love this show...they seem like a great family!

  • I love this show, and cannot believe all the hate they are getting. They are NOT a CULT. They have very strong Christian beleifs and prefer modesty, which is why the long skirts.

Lots of religions promote modesty. They are a beautiful family, and I hope to only have children as great as these kids are someday

  • Wasn't Josh engaged to somebody before Anna?

  • What bothers me about this show is that these young girls never get to wear pants. They would be able to get into athletic activities way more if they didn't have to wear those awful denim skirts!

  • can u add more episodes?

  • This is NOT WHAT GOD WANTS!!! This is a CULT. Why do all the boys were the same pants and shirts and why do the girls were skirts? Smells like a CULT in progress to me...

  • Yeah..and you notice they wear certain colors on certain days?

  • That's because it makes it easier to do laundry.

  • Amen to that I thought i was the only one that notice this.

  • Are you going to be able to put more up?

  • yupp

  • this is disgusting! they need to get their tubes tied like, now.

  • i agree.

  • pls keep adding more episodes! i like shows like this lol but i dont get the channel....

  • i will.... what channel? mine?

  • i dont get the channel on my tv anymore, if thats wat your asking... i can see them on youtube. thankfully:D

  • OHHH! sorrry! i thought u ment my youtube channel lol i read it wrong!

hehehe ill keep uploading for you (:

  • Asking for permission to court his daughter? What is this?!!

My God, its like feminism never even happened! I guess chivalry isn't dead.

  • thanks i love this family!!!

  • no problem (:

    i love them too!

  • this kid is creepy. He seems like he is arrogant and hiding "something". I dont like him one bit, I am going to watch more and see if I can put my finger on it

  • Thank you so much

  • no problem!
