Diana Sands was a rare gem. She could play ANY part. So beautiful and so authentic. In every role she's more than convincing, but all the while I can tell that it was easy for her, like she was just being herself. She was fully devoted to her craft and, who knows, maybe that's why she left us so soon. The realm of Cinema wasn't designed for such raw and beautiful genius. It worked for Bette Davis, but, oh well. To this day, Ms. Sands has not received her due credit but I love her. Peace.
She was also very intelligent and extremely talented. I'm glad people remember this woman who passed away so very young. Janice Rule was another very unique and talented actress.
Both Diana Sands and Jim Croce died the same week. Diana Sands died of cancer and of course, Jim Croce was killed in that plane crash in Louisiana. Let''s not forget that Eva Gabor married her fifth (and last) husband that same week.
I loved Janice Rule my entire life. One of the most beautiful faces on earth. I'll never know why she didn't recieve a mention when she died at the oscar awards. Bastards!!! She and Ursula Andress, Camilla Sparv, Senta Berger ,Angel Tompkins and Joey Heatherton were my favorite babes of the 60s.
Diana Sands was the High Priestess of Black Broadway. She crossed over to mainstream Broadway.... She is highly missed. She died in 1973 of Cancer. Many people attended her funeral from Rosalind Cash, Clarence Williams III, Diahann Carroll and Paul Winfield.
the lady that walks in with the dark brown flipped hair is my mom's aunt! she was a famous actress back then! she had been in several movies and tv shows such as the twilight zone. she was even on the cover of LIFE magazine!
That was the great Janice Rule (1931-2003). She was an excellent actress who later left the biz to become a psychologist. One married to actor Ben Gazzara, she has a daughter, Elizabeth, with Ben who is a film editor.
Janice Rule was so beautiful. Wow.

I just watched this again and I have to say that Diana's acting, even with such trite dialogue, is amazing. There has never been another like her.

Hoping the spirit lives on. Something about her though the talent she portrayed outshown her contemporaries.
