Oh and please do not put sarah geronimo in the same category as Whitney. Sarah herself as a teenager imitated celine. You can hear it in her past performances. Singers do tend to grow vocally as they learn through experience.
Singing is her life, and she has a great gift. Why shouldn't she "show off her talent?' Plus, being able to imitate well is a sign of a good singer with the potential to be great. Charice has proved it with her recent performances. Watching those other videos, one can see marked improvement in her singing quality and tone. She is veering away from impersonations and allowing her own talent and uniqueness to shine.

anong masama kung kantahin niya ang kanta ng kanyang idol? and kudos to Charice kahit karaoke machine lang nagpapaubaya kumanta. ano pa ang hahanapin ninyo sa pangit na audio ng karaoke machine at ng camera. pati nga nagsasalita ngongo. let's admit it, she broke the mold of pinay performers. kahit boses palaka basta maputi maganda ok na. pakembot kembot pabuka bukaka ok na. we have great singers but very few made it here in the Philippines just because of their talent.

@princess12342468 there are no difference of voice can be distinguished by an untrained ears. hahaha. you try to put their voices in an OSCILLOSCOPE and then you can see even the slightest difference.
suppose princess that you are charice. wud wait for whatever thing you said to grow before you gonna start earning for your family?? also, no matter how hard charice pushes to sell herself she wud not stand a chance if people such as oprah and david do not believe in her talent, they know better.

i just couldn't understand how people like you can't see and appreciate this one in a lifetime talent. well, not all people liked whitney, celine, barbarra streisand, madonna, cher, sting, bon jovi, MJ, and etcetera but it doesn't give anyone a right to be mean to anybody.

@princess12342468 ---Granted, she is only a teenager who still has to find her own voice...and if you really think about it, we filipinos have a tendency to imitate.
Oh and please do not put sarah geronimo in the same category as Whitney. Sarah herself as a teenager imitated celine. You can hear it in her past performances. Singers do tend to grow vocally as they learn through experience.

Singing is her life, and she has a great gift. Why shouldn't she "show off her talent?' Plus, being able to imitate well is a sign of a good singer with the potential to be great. Charice has proved it with her recent performances. Watching those other videos, one can see marked improvement in her singing quality and tone. She is veering away from impersonations and allowing her own talent and uniqueness to shine.
Another thing--karaoke is so much fun!!! Can't sing well, but I love it!! Haha.

it's because of Charice i was introduced to Sarah :) I would look up vids of Cha and see Sarah in them.
Sarah has a great voice...and she seems to be a nice person :)
So with this being said....a lot of Filipino entertainers will benefit from Cha's success. I hope that other Filipino entertainers will find international success as well :)
