Aw man! iforgot we can listen to music on the options!... i have been online just looking for these songs XP. haha it would be much easier to just listen to a whole package on the SNES... but ..now idont have a Snes XP
I love how the whole soundtrack for this game is so simple. Its elegant in that respect as it conveys so much with very little. David Wise you are a genius! LONG LIVE DONKEY KONG COUNTRY 2!
Select a blank file, go to the third option on the start list and just keep hitting down. Eventually, you will see the sound test. Also, keep hitting down on the sound test to access the cheat input option, though you still need to know the code to activate it.
@Electricityize Not at all! I'd strongly recommend taking a listen to it, especially the GBA versions of Stilt Village, Mill Fever, Cavern Caprice, Nuts and Bolts, Water World, Waterfall and Rockface Rumble... and Enchanted River... and Pokey Pipes... and Jungle Jitter.... heck, you should just download the whole thing! :P
@ArichDKC My reply to Electricityize notwithstanding, I will try to check out the GBA versions of the tracks you referenced. I think David Wise worked on the GBA soundtrack, so I might like it.
@Electricityize To be honest, I thought DKC3 (the SNES version; I haven't played the GBA version) was inferior to 1 and 2 in both the quality of gameplay and music. It wasn't necessarily a bad game, but to me there was a noticeable drop-off in quality. I *loved* DKC and DKC2; I thought DKC3 was just okay. If I'm not mistaken, someone other than David Wise was responsible for most of the music in DKC3 (SNES version), which might explain why I found it to be kind of bland....
ihad this on my myspace profile. now i have "flight of zinger" on there now. thanks dave wise for great instrumentals. i would love to see a future soundtrack release.
arichDKC is a legend and i think i speak for all of us when i sa this... exept the guy who disliked the video...

The percussion sounds like the percussion from In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins.

Yeah, it does - I actually combined both tunes recently to see how it sounds, I like it!

omg oh yah lol!!!

I used to sing that to this tune to irritate friends who were playing the game. Glad I'm not the only person who thought it sounded similar.

Thank you so much for putting this up. And here I thought I was the only one who absolutely loved the music from DKC (both 1 and 2).

How could you be alone to like it with such nice tunes? :) It's one of my favorite tunes from this game.

@mgbp7 What about Donkey Kong Country 3? Didn't you like it?
Electricityize 2 months ago
@Electricityize I can't speak for mgbp7, but I feel DKC3's (SNES and GBA) soundtracks are both better than DKC/DKC2 are. But that's just me :)
ArichDKC 2 months ago
@ArichDKC I haven't played the GBA version, but some people say that it screwed all the DKC3's OST.

I like the bayou feel to this song! Very good beats, along with the crickets chirping!

with this instrumental quality since 1995!! how could still this genre be so underrated?? Ppl had bad taste in general...

Who made up the names for these things anyways? It just says "SWAMP".
oowp 4 years ago 2
1. The official DKC2 soundtrack CD called it "Bayou Boogie".
2. DKC2 GBA also called it Bayou Boogie.
So therefore, it's the official name.
ArichDKC 4 years ago
Ah....Alas.
oowp 4 years ago
@oowp I'm pretty sure SWAMP means you hear this music in the SWAMP section of the game...
