  • arichDKC is a legend and i think i speak for all of us when i sa this... exept the guy who disliked the video...

  • I can feel it, coming in the swamp tonight!

  • this song always made me think of that one phil collins song... dude who made this must've been a fan of him hehe

  • Aw man! iforgot we can listen to music on the options!... i have been online just looking for these songs XP. haha it would be much easier to just listen to a whole package on the SNES... but ..now idont have a Snes XP

  • @hmgxyoojlus O_o dont tell me you....oh no the HORROR who would do that :(

  • rare shoudnt have sold its soul to microsoft.

  • this song is a tribute to shadow of the beast

  • yeah the VC version still has the sound test which is pure epic win.

this is easily my favorite track.

  • I love how the whole soundtrack for this game is so simple. Its elegant in that respect as it conveys so much with very little. David Wise you are a genius! LONG LIVE DONKEY KONG COUNTRY 2!

  • Kicking some ass in a sweet swamp!

  • 90's game music DOMINATES anything in the business today and RARE used to be pure gold!!

  • How do I get to this menu in the game?

  • Select a blank file, go to the third option on the start list and just keep hitting down. Eventually, you will see the sound test. Also, keep hitting down on the sound test to access the cheat input option, though you still need to know the code to activate it.

  • Thanks alot!

  • Oh shit. I've never knew that existed before. Let's see if it's still there in the Virtual Console port.

  • This is one of the coolest tracks ever!

  • It's also one of my favorite soundtracks in the game.

  • thanks for putting this up!! you're the only one who i can find with this song up on here!! ^_^ thank you!!!

  • The percussion sounds like the percussion from In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins.

  • Yeah, it does - I actually combined both tunes recently to see how it sounds, I like it!

  • omg oh yah lol!!!

  • I used to sing that to this tune to irritate friends who were playing the game. Glad I'm not the only person who thought it sounded similar.

  • Thank you so much for putting this up. And here I thought I was the only one who absolutely loved the music from DKC (both 1 and 2).

  • How could you be alone to like it with such nice tunes? :) It's one of my favorite tunes from this game.

  • you're crazy this sound track is good!

  • @mgbp7 What about Donkey Kong Country 3? Didn't you like it?

  • @Electricityize I can't speak for mgbp7, but I feel DKC3's (SNES and GBA) soundtracks are both better than DKC/DKC2 are. But that's just me :)

  • @ArichDKC I haven't played the GBA version, but some people say that it screwed all the DKC3's OST.

  • @Electricityize Not at all! I'd strongly recommend taking a listen to it, especially the GBA versions of Stilt Village, Mill Fever, Cavern Caprice, Nuts and Bolts, Water World, Waterfall and Rockface Rumble... and Enchanted River... and Pokey Pipes... and Jungle Jitter.... heck, you should just download the whole thing! :P

  • @ArichDKC My reply to Electricityize notwithstanding, I will try to check out the GBA versions of the tracks you referenced. I think David Wise worked on the GBA soundtrack, so I might like it.

  • @Electricityize To be honest, I thought DKC3 (the SNES version; I haven't played the GBA version) was inferior to 1 and 2 in both the quality of gameplay and music. It wasn't necessarily a bad game, but to me there was a noticeable drop-off in quality. I *loved* DKC and DKC2; I thought DKC3 was just okay. If I'm not mistaken, someone other than David Wise was responsible for most of the music in DKC3 (SNES version), which might explain why I found it to be kind of bland....

  • I like the bayou feel to this song! Very good beats, along with the crickets chirping!

  • with this instrumental quality since 1995!! how could still this genre be so underrated?? Ppl had bad taste in general...

  • I think its because the music was actually way ahead of its time... but I still agree with you

  • I think video game music is better than all other genres^.^

  • me too.

  • ihad this on my myspace profile. now i have "flight of zinger" on there now. thanks dave wise for great instrumentals. i would love to see a future soundtrack release.

  • thank you so much for uploading this video

    ahh the memories

  • This song is delicious!

  • X D

  • DKC 2 has on of the best gamesoundtracks ever made!

  • Agreed. Games like this make me wonder why the general populous doesn't take game music more seriously.

  • I agree.

  • Well put, my favorite soundtrack ever. I still get these songs stuck in my head!

  • U R So Right Bout That Lol 5/5

  • U can say that again!

  • me gusta mucho ese tema

  • Who made up the names for these things anyways? It just says "SWAMP".

  • 1. The official DKC2 soundtrack CD called it "Bayou Boogie".

    2. DKC2 GBA also called it Bayou Boogie.

So therefore, it's the official name.

  • Ah....Alas.

  • @oowp I'm pretty sure SWAMP means you hear this music in the SWAMP section of the game...

  • me to

  • i also like this song.
