  • 30GB is when you can have all features, and 15GB is most of the features in Ubuntu.

  • Why do I get stuck on the "Busybox"? after I run Ubuntu?!

  • Nice! =)

  • ubuntu is free anyway....

  • Yeah, but people sometimes don't like burning the program onto discs.

Either way, you will have to dual-boot.

  • when you said what drive, do you mean I can put it on an external drive if I buy one.

what's the smallest (in data wise) USB hard drive you can buy?

  • that's great...the file is really small...better than downloading 800 MB off the official Ubuntu website.

  • That is true.

But, when you download Wubi, and you come to the start screen, you actually get to choose how many GB is installed of the Ubuntu program.

  • Please help me. I deleted Ubuntu from my C:/ drive, but the Boot Manager is still there. How can I get it just to start Windows by itself. Please help me before Saturday (1-24-09)!

  • Hmm, well, what you should do is that you should go to Control Panel, then to Uninstall A Program, and then just uninstall Wubi, because that is the main source of the Wubi you just downloaded.

Another simple way to uninstall Wubi, is to just simply to open it up, and then you can either choose to backup the files, or not and then just click uninstall and you're fine.

  • Thanks! I will try it know! How do you like Windows 7. Because I want to get the beta to possibly replace Vista.

  • It didn't work. Anymore ideas?

  • Hmm, well if you really like Windows 7, you should really try it, it is way better than Vista.

To get it, just type it in on Google, and just click on the link that says "Welcome to Windows 7"

Then just go through the downloading steps, BUT, you need Internet Explorer because it won't work on any other browsers, I don't know why.

And for your Ubuntu problem, if you did a system restore in Vista, then when you restart your computer, click f11 as fast as you can, and do the system restore. :)

  • It still didn't work. Just so you know, I have a Gateway MT6728 with Windows Vista Home Premium.

  • Hmm, did you try System Restore?

Wait, is there dual-boot with your computer?

Like when you start-up your computer, does it show the options to either go into Ubuntu or Windows Vista?

  • Yes. I did the restore.

When I turn it on, the little line blinks in the top left for 6 seconds (longer than normal), then goes to the options. The options are:

    Microsoft Windows Vista

    ubuntu

  • Don't worry about the little line, it's just loading the boot screen.

Anyways, I think you should try this.

    Boot into Windows Vista.

Go to start, and search "Wubi"

then click on it, and it will automatically uninstall.

Then, restart your computer and I am pretty sure it will be back to normal.

  • There is no Wubi when I type it in my Start menu.

  • Hmm.

    There should be.

    Sorry man, I don't know.

What I recommend you should check out is when you type in on Google "Yahoo Answers"

Just search a question relating to your problem, and hopefully something will pop-up.

  • I have already deleted Wubi. That could be the problem. Hey, I will check out Yahoo answers... Good idea! But if it doesn't work, I will have a good excuse to get money from my dad to by a MacBook Pro!

  • Yeah, that might be the problem.

Yes, you should. Yahoo Answers helped me so much with problems.

I think they could help you.

If it doesn't work, then yeah that's a good excuse for your dad to get you money for the Macbook Pro!

    LMFAO.

  • I fixed my problem. I was watching this video on youtube (obviously) and I came to this guy called BetaFlux. I just asked him and he said to:

    1) click start

    2) right click computer and goto properties

    3) hit change settings

    4) go to the advanced tab

    5) click the settings button under the startup and recovery

    6) uncheck "Time to display list of operating systems

    now it works!

  • Windows 7 ROCKS!!! I am on it now! I never will go back to Vista!

  • Yes, I know it's great.

    :)

    Please subscribe!

  • i think they should of fixed vista b4 they make a new one. but 7 does rock

  • Yeah, that is true.

I really didn't like Vista, for me it ran smoothly, but it used up so much RAM, and memory was easy to lose.

For now, I am sticking with Windows 7.

  • well you will have to becasue it ends 1st August.

unless you illegally patch it (which I wouldn't).

    or buy the full version.

  • I know. My dad said that he would buy me the full version.

  • Is that Win7?

  • Yes, it is. :)

  • windows 7 awsome

  • Haha, yeah it's way better than Windows Vista.

  • thanks man i have been looking for somthing like this for a bit

  • No problem!

    Please subscribe. :)
