  • I hate war, I hate what America is doing in the middle East, but.....One CANNOT argue the Courage these men and women portray everyday, going into a foreign country for reasons that incredibly UNCLEAR BUT STILL THEY ARE WILL TO DIE FOR US....US!!!! Why!?!? Do we deserve their Sacrifice? In my opinion we do not, but still they do. SO I salute you brave men and women and please know that whatever happens you will always have our hearts.

  • What is justice? What is "America"?

Great edit to consider about the world and the America.

  • one of the best bands ever !!!!

  • I see the world getting even more f@$%ed up in the near future becuase the stupid, ignorant, or blind people in the world vastly outnumber the people who would listen to the pleas of peace activists. Also a message from the rest of the world to the US. Please please please dont elect a republican president. Trust us when we say, they're all shmucks

  • 0:55 british soldiers in training, i have a phrase that goes well with this song, Heroes dont wear capes, they wear the Colours of their flag

  • Peace is not about winning the fight. Peace is about not fighting. If humanity keeps believing they will retrieve peace when they are done fighting, then they will keep fighting.

We need to stop! We need to talk instead. We need to employ people as charity workers instead of soldiers. That way we can help each other instead of killing each other.

"Don't carry on! Just walk away! How many more sent to their graves? Is this lesson ignored?"

  • I support the troops but I'm against this war sending them to early graves

  • "the cowards reach from pedastals, with words like 'courage' and 'resolve' but what they meant was 'fuck em all, cause freedom isn't free'. they send our daughters and our sons to deserts under burning suns, a sacrificial slaughtering to fill the pockets of the weak" ENOUGH WAR. JUST BRING OUR TROOPS HOME. RON PAUL 2012!!!

  • I want to cry every time I see a flag covered casket...HOOAH, to all my fallen brothers and sisters. <3

  • Just saw them live last weekend this song was unbelievable the synchronized videos they played throughout the whole song were heavy...amazing band, and even more amazing people that give their lives for our freedom thank you and God bless.

  • @Apollo1755

What the fuck are you talking about??

This song is saying that soliders are NOT fighting for our freedoms.

This song/ band are AGAINST the U.S military and militarism.

This song is saying that our soldiers are NOT protecting us, but are protecting the interests of multi-national corporations and the politicans who benefit.

This song is saying that they're not giving their lives for our freedom.

After all, Rise Against means "rise AGAINST" and they're a PUNK band.

  • @AlmostaFlipinSkater despite all this, this is a song for the soldiers. Rise against isnt against the soldiers as much as they are the government. After all, the soldiers do not get to pick and choose the battles they fight.

  • @AlmostaFlipinSkater they are not punk THEY'RE ALTERNATIVE ROCK YOU DUMBASS

  • @riseagainstfreak0311

I can't tell if your trolling or not, but this is what I have to say:

    Seriously?

Rise formed from Joe and Dan who got off of 88 Fingers Louise, a PUNK band.

Rise grew up in the Punk scene, signed to FAT WRECK CHORDS who only signs Punk bands. Rise was influenced by Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, Descendents, Refused etc who are Punk bands.

They tour with Punk bands, they write Punk lyrics, they are Punk

Make it Stop is just one of a few exception. They're as Punk as Bad Religion

  • @AlmostaFlipinSkater whatever

  • I salute all who serve; fight; but most of all who died. A soldier's job is not to ask why but say yes sir and carry out the commands of the commander and chief who decide what is and what isn't a threat to America. You can be president or you can be a soldier. The soldier is worth more... not because you serve the country like the president but because you are willing to die for the country... If the president wanted to do so he would of become a soldier.

  • I give 100% to men who fought in war (both sides), I have no respect for men who enjoy killing because they can (both sides as well)

  • Semper Fi rest in peace brothers in arms

  • the sad truth of our world

  • Amazing

  • this video was great, thank you to all soldiers and veterans. love you men and women <3

  • As much as I want to believe in it, I just can't: Worldpeace will never be achieved by mankind. War isn't manmade. It's a largescale insitinctive battle for territory and food-, drink- and comfort-supplies, just like all animals today and in the past. Fighting for land has always been in our genes, in our minds, in our heart and soul. Even if the USA or Al Qaeda wins these wars in every way possible, satisfaction will eventually run out again, and the urge for another war comes back and sprouts.

  • Did anyone els notice that this song is at a slightly higher pitch than the song on the album????

  • There is a reason there arent any dislikes.

  • The American government says that "God is on our side"... They imply they are a nation under God. Tell me, would God bless the murder of the innocents? Would God bless a war designed for a financial profit at the expense of thousand of lives lost? Would God bless a money hungry government?

  • @MrKitteh101 course not, but the uneducated and stupid will enlist because of this statement, and they will be and always have been the cannon fodder of wars.

  • @MrKitteh101 Which god? There are thousands. Certainly, the god described in the bible would bless a nation that murders innocents, he/she/it did so him/her/itself in the bible.

  • WHY DID I PAUSE AT THOSE IMAGE EWWY.

  • And this is only considering a perfect political enviroment where nothing gets leaked out (which is impossible). A country is meant to be lead, you have to put your thrust in your leader, the only thing to do when the collective doesn't agree, is be sure with whom you vote, and not just go for the black guy just because it's so original, and unconventional; My point is, stop trying to put all the blame on the leaders, your actions are as much guilty. Stop being cattle.

  • the moment you fight for your country, you make it your fight (you fight for the collective good of your country, implicitly yours), the only problem is that they don't fill you in on the details, the problem is they treat you like meat shield; But then again you all need to understand the massive disagreements between the people of the country, everyone would have something to say and object, you just can't control such riot.

  • Baxter - Burden, intro, nice one Tim!

  • google Ron Paul

  • "War...war never changes."

  • "In the end, it's better to die on your feet, than to live on your knees."

"You got it backwards. It's better to live on your feet, than to die on your knees."

I now finally understand what it means

  • The audio is high pitched….

  • cant look it twice

  • touching to say the least.

  • Thank you this is an amazing video

  • @Ypulisorv This video wouldn't be near as good if they weren't in there... Those aren't faked pictures, I'm pretty sure those are real and it's showing the truth, the truth shouldn't be cencored.

  • Are this the official video?

    I need it...

  • the songs not bout war

  • @tadanorm yes it is. if you acutally listen to the lyrics you will understand it is the goverment screwing over the military and frogetting that these people are giving everything and its not even their fight.

  • @ladyb1201 its about the collapse of america and its not just about the military service men being sqewed over its about the hole public being sqewed over.

  • @tadanorm yeah its also about the collapse of america. but when they say , "They send our daughters and our sons to deserts under burning suns, sacrificial slaughterings to fill the pockets of the weak." they are talking about the military. now i know their are other parts of the songs that tlalk about other stuff but most of it is about the military

  • 3:38 this dude is jesus handbanging in war zone that lightens up the mood

  • USA is pathetic. War exists only so your pathetic country can stay where they are as the most powerful and influential country in the world. See war exists to bring fear into all other nations that's what this song is about. USA will make up any reason to bring war. Wanting petroleum or maybe bombing there own skyscrapers to blame another country they need war to survive i don't honor these idiotic veterans with pride and patriotism cause USA sucks it's like the hunger games USA is the capital

  • @FFBprodukshuns how bout you dont talk about you know, dont dare disrespect veterans because of the government, no matter what the veterans to something you could never do and that is fight and die for their country, you may disagree with the war but never disrespect the men who fight in it

    -U.S. Soldier.

  • @skatr1234 sucks that u didnt die also?

  • @skatr1234 could not have phrased it better myself. I obviously am not a fan of war (is anyone really?) but that does not mean I don't respect the troops and thank them for everything they have done to provide this country with the luxuries we have. Any soliders who may read this, I thank you for all the sacrifices you have made on this country's behalf.

  • @skatr1234

    EWWWW U.S ;p

Nah. You're right man, there's just a fuck-tonne of disrespectful cunts out there.

  • @skatr1234 actualy rise against is anti war , i respect veterans from any country , but not many wars , the invasion of iraq , the second one was a joke

  • @skatr1234 Why do you fight?

  • @plonski749 Because we all already do, or want to.

  • @RaptorianAssasin But what is the root of your desire? A soldier does not represent his ideals or his values, the flag on his soldier speaks *for him. So why would anyone with the courage and fortitude to be a soldier lend their services to a nation run by plutocracy, kleptocracy and greed. Profit is the only incentive now, it has even overthrown power as the drug of choice for politicians, CEO's, corporations and military leaders. So why would some1 like a soldier fight 4 us?

  • @plonski749 Because in between all the suffering, sadness and despair, they feel like it's the right thing to do. They blindly focus on the idea of protecting their country, not really knowing what difference they will make when (if) it will all end. Then there are also those who fight because they lost the meaning of life and wish an 'honerable' death while serving their country. They too may not realise they're fighting for greedy bastards, but among them there're also those who just don't care.

  • @RaptorianAssasin So then why *not* overthrow their oppressors? Are the real enemies in the caves of Afghanistan or the halls of D.C.? Tell me, you're a soldier, correct? Did you (and your comrades) ever question authority, ever feel as though those in command aren't worth the effort?

If you don't mind me asking what is your opinion on 9/11? Do you think Al-Qaeda had some *help? The Middle Eastern conflict makes me feel no safer. Once again these are optional questions.

  • @plonski749 I'm not speaking as a mere pawn serving at the hands of some gluttons for gold,I'm speaking as a man who sees mankind as all living things among and before us:Egocentric creatures desperately looking for a way to feel just a little good inside and give a good meaning to their lifes. As for what you said about 9/11,I'm not sure about that 'help',though I don't exclude the possibility of a conspiracy with western countries: If it would give them profit,I see no reason why they wouldn't.

  • @RaptorianAssasin Thank you for your service and your opinion.

  • @plonski749 What about you? How do you look at people in general? Not just groups or nations, but really mankind itself? I depict humanity as a selfcentered being doing everything for their own benefit in some way. Don't you have to say something about that? You seem like an intelligent person, someone I can learn alot from. I gave my opinion, so please share yours.

  • @RaptorianAssasin People are what they are. I view man through the lense of all social sciences; anthropology, economy, history, *philosophy, pscyhology, etc. Man in small groups is harmless, another hominid capable of great and many things. But we bring out the best and the worst in ourselves within large groups. You are corrected with depicting mankind as self-centered because *instinctively, we had to be. The preservation of ourselves is the most basic of all things.

  • @RaptorianAssasin The bottom line is this: we make things. Our earlier forms were "Homo Erectus' (standing/walking man) and "Homo Habilis" (tool user). Essentially society and it's assumption that socialist-based systems would mankind lazy and worthless is incorrect. If the Gdansk shipyards and Gorbachev dont prove that I don't know what will. The point is: we're going somewhere. But the question thats yet to have been asked is "where's this all going?"

  • @plonski749 Thank you for sharing you vision and opinion. It's good to talk to people with a wide vision who know what they're talking about. I agree with you, saying that we're getting somewhere, but I don't think there will be an answer to your question. I think the 'absolute' bottomline isn't that we're getting somewhere, but that the whole point lies in the fact that we can keep moving on, until our world itself becomes to desolate to go on in.

  • @plonski749 But anyway, thank you. Like I predicted, I've learnt alot from you. And I don't know what profession you have, but just to make sure it's said: You've got good brains and insight, so don't let it go to waste. Inspire people like you inspired me. There may be no significance to our existence in the end, but until then we leave our mark on this world. Wether you dedicate your life to the future or the present: you have my blessing.

  • @skatr1234 I agree completely. Just because someone fights in the war doesn't mean they want to.

If the government told Tim McIlrath he had to fight,he would, whether he wanted to or not.

  • @skatr1234 So long as there are men willing to sacrifice their lives in the name of peace war is possible

I have respects for a soldier but also see them as a tool of the chaos in this world

  • @skatr1234 HOOAH!

  • @skatr1234 A veteran is defined as a soldier who has reached a high level of skill, a soldier who is capabile of acts above and beyond normal soldiers. In other worlds a veteran could best be described as a soldier who has many medals and performed many great acts. The American definition of veteran is pretty much ‘anyone in a war ever’ which is incorrect. Anyone: Yes you can blame the soldiers if they kill innocents and obey a corrupt government.

  • @aleronstube I agree. As far as I know, no Americans are forced to participate in the war. And even if they are ... If I was forced to be an American soldier I'd rather disobey and go to American prison than kill innocent people and receive a medal for it.

I ask: If your country tells you to kill other people, who are no less innocent than yourself, is it then worth fighting for? (hint: I'd say no!)

  • @SelvesteSand What makes you think we shoot innocent people.

A guy who carries a shovel to side of the road in the middle of the night and starts digging gets shot. We save 6 American Soldiers.

Innocent? I think not, and I'm not taking the chance.

    -Combat Medic

  • @BenjLei19 One soldier who fights for his country is no less innocent than one soldier who fights for another country. Society has told them they're doing something good, just as they've told you. But you don't. By fighting you keep the war alive.

  • @SelvesteSand They fight for God, not their country. It's a belief that killing an American will bring them to Heaven. Would you truly let that person kill you, or your family? I didn't ask for the War, but I believe in the soldiers I stand with, and by that standard I shall eliminate all who seek to bring harm to them.

I am not one for politics, I am one for Brotherhood. Ask any soldier and he'll tell you the same. We don't go to take oil home, we go to bring each other home.

  • @BenjLei19 If all you want is to bring each other home, then don't go in the first place. If America stops waging way, they will be much less hated and thus much less in danger. And to answer your question, no, if someone came to me wanting to kill me, I would fight back. But I would not seek out the fight. Waging war is seeking out the fight.

  • @FFBprodukshuns the hunger games are about Rome... literally everything in the series is influenced by Rome.

  • What purpose does that serve? Nothing's worth a man's life.

  • i really, really hate the arab in this song, him and his apocalyptic bullshit

  • I love when people post with bias views. We understand the war has had an impact on you as an individual. However, this war has a reason, regardless of underlying motives, there is a serious reason. I just want to say that there is no draft. People are going to fight of their free will. It is terrible that so many are dying but each decides their own fate. IT may sound harsh, but the truth is harsh, and that is exactly what this is.

  • This, in my opinion, should not be an anti-war song. This song, especially aided by this video, should be saying that all those anti-war and anti-military groups should shut the fuck up. They are able to express those opinions solely because our troops are out there shedding blood, sweat, and tears to keep our country safe and independent. We owe our troops and veterans more respect than we give them.

  • @007dicktator You aren't making any sense at all. I can speak freely without permission from my Superiors, I'm not in BCT.

  • @007dicktator No legal right? Umm... I pretty sure having a debate discussion with someone other than yourself is perfectly legal. It serves the purpose of freeing another nation from a terrorist organization. They asked for our help and we agreed to help them. I do think you should reread what I said, or at least maybe a book on people skills. i was in no way complaining about my service, I was pointing out that we soldiers chose our path, and stand by our duties in service.

  • It's better to die on your feet than to live on your knees !!! :)

  • @AluDHellCar Just in case: What exactly do YOU mean by that?

  • this is some graffic shit goin on but its all true!

  • wow. Incredible man, this video is perfect, thanks for putting the time into it!

  • If you live in peace and have no room for judgement in your heart, the world will fix itself in time.

  • amazing vid man, speachless

  • No war = No human personality.

It's built in, all we have to do, all we CAN do, is ride it making ourselves as comfortable as possible until we destroy ourselves.

Then the religions blame their gods, and ourselves. The atheists blame themselves and the religions for not listening.

Meanwhile the pastafarians and the entirety of /b/ look on and laugh at the light they find themselves floating towards.

  • Really nice vid! :)

  • The Iraq war was motivated by the oil industry and having it's tentacles wrapped around the US government. Currently the US has military treaties with the OPEC nations and in return they will only accept the US dollar as payment. this is how we sustain our empire, by making the rest of the world use our worthless paper money by controlling the oil they need. Saddam decided he was going to accept the Euro and all of a sudden he's a terrorist and was made an example of. Our kids die for nothing

  • Well society, people of the world. This is what America has come to. Idiots running the world wanting nothing but power, they've become corrupt, they want nothing but money and death. Why? Who knows? What are we fighting for? Absolutely nothing. We're fighting the endless war that was come to be long long ago. All saw it coming, but was it to be stopped? We send our troops in to fight this meaningless cause, and we lose hundreds every week. Tell me... Is it worth it?

  • @unabletounderstand I'm assuming you haven't met many soldiers that have actually been deployed to Afghanistan. Most of them will agree that we are fighting for a cause. We're helping their people. I'm not going to call you out personally as I'm sure you just never saw it this way, but the war is labeled "meaningless" by the media because it isn't helping this country. It's selfishness that takes away from what the soldiers are actually doing over there. We are helping a nation that wanted help.

  • @r1s1ngarmy And I'm assuming you havent met the friend and families of the thousands who have died or gone missing. Before calling the cry for recall "selfish", take a moment and put yourself in their shoes.

  • Comment removed

  • @pyr0inbound I did serve my country and continue to today. I've met the families of fallen soldiers and I've seen friends fall in combat operations. It is selfishness to determine what the soldiers are dying for to be meaningless. Who are you to decide the people that asked for our help aren't worthy of having an American soldier die for them. Why don't you take a walk in a soldier's shoes before deciding if it's worth it. It's a volunteer military, they all knew the sacrifice.

  • @r1s1ngarmy I never once stated that those who cry for our help are unworthy of it. I simply said that just because some people miss their friends, fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters, it doesn't make them selfish as a rule. It simply makes them human. Nobody ever said that the soldiers' deaths are meaningless. Nobody. Maybe you should consider the collective feelings of this nation, their nation, and the world. Maybe they're all just sick of all the deaths that have happened.

  • @r1s1ngarmy EXTENSION OF PREVIOUS COMMENT: Do not be so hasty in your judgement of others. Also, think about what you're saying. Their nation, collectively, did not cry for help. What happened was: Corrupt politicians heard the cases of mistreated people from that country, then they looked to see if we could benifit from the war in any way. What really happened was the same thing that has always happened with America's wars. We saw a threat and we wanted it GONE.

  • History has proven that America thrives under the threat of being attacked or ''Destroyed''. I refuse to give up on this nation and it's people. Unlike you cowards.

  • @Biglouie2118 Congratulations, you just spewed three sentences worth of utter-nonsense.

  • @TheWigglyLobster Congratulations your naive.

  • Comment removed

  • @pyr0inbound Okay, look at this from a soldier's eyes. Saying the war is meaningless is saying the soldiers died for the nothing. In the military it is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees. none of them regret a thing in the end, and I feel sorry for the friends and families on soldiers that lay on the battlefield. It's harder for people that never served to see things this way and move on. I even have trouble with that, but it doesn't make the war meaningless.

  • @pyr0inbound EXTENSION OF PREVIOUS COMMENT: That's why I said it's selfish. the people are thinking about their friend or family member, but they're not thinking about the soldier and everything he/she died for.

  • @r1s1ngarmy I don't want to argue anymore, I just want to listen to the music. I will concede the point that the war is not meaningless, but remember that we are fight to crush an idea. You cannot kill something insubstantial. It will continue to live on long after you and I have departed this world. The best we can do is to teach others of their mistakes and hope that they learn from them. I did not come on YouTube to write a goddamn essay so just listen to the goddamn music. OK????

  • @pyr0inbound Haha I loved the ending to that. Fair enough. Thanks for the conversation. Helped pass the time while at work.

  • @pyr0inbound no we saw oil and we used 9/11 as a excuse too take it

  • @unabletounderstand Well if you think America is the only country corrupt you are sadly mistaken, (not saying you are) ah but I agree with you its time for us to pull out.

  • @unabletounderstand To say we went for nothing isn't true. We got hit, so we hit back. That's America. Sure we mess up, but we're still the free world, one of the greatest countries ever. Anyone who would disagree shouldn't be living here.

  • @Pareod375 Yeah but guess what? After long enough, we'll be under water. Sounds awesome, amirite?

  • @unabletounderstand There's always a way out.

  • @unabletounderstand I love how in this comment you basically refer to America as the world.

  • @unabletounderstand Only the dead have seen the end of war....

  • @unabletounderstand Yes, it is.

  • @unabletounderstand I agree with your comment but it is not just america!! all capatlist country's (which is basically All of them) are involved...It is the elite who control the currency and stocks, it is the elite who own around 90% of money....IT IS ALSO THE ELITE WHO PRESS FOR AND FUND WARS probably genocides and all the bullshit related to it...the elite do not send their sons and daughters to war, they let the poor and middle class die for their greed "in the name of justice" LOL...

  • @zenzero777 ......in the name of being positive i feel i should say this as well, if your all FED UP WITH the INJUSTICE, then stop supporting it, DONT BUY YOUR FOOD FROM A SUPERSTORE OR WALLMART.....support independent family run business, even its too expensive for your low income try to grow alot of ur own food and buy from large corporations as least as possible!! find out who owns all the money in our society's find out who is running and regulating our laws and "customs"!!!!!!!

  • @unabletounderstand Some people will die for there country instead of sucking there cocks all day long

  • they should show this video at recruiting offices

  • @russoct27 Hero of War should be displayed here

  • Great video man

  • to hell with war! who need's it! life would be so much batter with out war! ya just like that!

  • the truth is disturbing i almost cried in this video

  • 0:45 COD?

  • why is this high pitched?

  • Who is the guy at 2:49?

  • @klenny5688 bill O'reilly

  • @willphillify Thanks.
