  • I love new wave so much, but I always end up coming back to Queen. Fucking brilliant.

  • this is my favorite queen song

  • I think nobody's mentioned this, but...

    SPACIAL RELATIVITY

  • @trainchugger53 OH MY GOD YES YES THAT'S IT!!!

  • Bohemian Rhapsody is indeed an incredible song, but when it comes to their more epic piano compositions, I have to say March of the Black Queen is my favorite. My Fairy King is pretty good too.

  • i can stop loving the lyrics of this song because an amazing story of science or more importantly physics and that just makes it x3000000000000000 better

  • @1KevinsFamousChili1 Umm how is this song about science or physics?

  • @MegaGammo it's about relativistic travel which is physics because you may or may not know Brian May has a Ph.D in Astrophysics

  • @1KevinsFamousChili1 Oh thanks

  • @1KevinsFamousChili1 He just joined Astronomy magazine and he's to initially publish next issue. I don'r read it, but my dad does and he told me about it and showed me the article.

  • @EmoKittyValentine lololololololol i literally said the same thing yesterday on a different '39 video xD thanks anyway though :) But ya i read that magazine i have read his first article it was ok can't wait to see what else he does though!!

  • @1KevinsFamousChili1 I wonder if he's still writing music (Maybe "closet" songs) while writing columns

  • im in my mothers womb and she just discovered Queen, why don't more fetuses listen to Queen, gosh.

  • One of my favorite Queen songs to date, thanks for the upload.

  • I'm 20 and i just discovered Queen 3:17 ago. I don't know why other kids my age don't all listen to this.

  • @Benny100

So, is living underneath a rock uncomfortable?

  • I'm 28 and I've been listening to Queen since I was -Oh wait, that's right,no one gives a flying fuck!

  • I feel like this song would make a good movie.

  • This is by far my favorite Queen song. Shit's deep.

  • I'm 5, and i discovered 60-70s music two years ago when I was 3. I don't know why other kids my age don't appreciate this sort of music.

  • This reminds me of Led Zeppelin until the corus.

  • Roger hit some very good high notes in this one!

  • Comment removed

  • Brian and Freddie make the song sound completely different when they sing

  • One of their best songs that hardly anyone knows (unfortunately)

  • I didn't know brian could sing I LOVE IT but Istill like the live verson in 1977

  • Queen, accomplishing in one song what Rush spent a lifetime attempting

  • @TheImpossibleMan You can definitely hear the influences.

  • @TheImpossibleMan Screw you.

It is a beautiful song, though.

  • @TheImpossibleMan What's with the Rush hate, man? They're not even comparable bands. Just spread the Queen love, no need for insulting others.

  • @TheImpossibleMan How do you figure?

  • one of queens best. I could listen to it over and over again.

  • Hands down my favourite Queen track.

  • Wow...

  • Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor ,John Deacon. Queen have been a fan for a long time..they just had such a different sound so unique Amazing saw them in concert '77 and '78 brilliant it was not just 4 guys up there singing their albums live they grabbed you and took you on a musical journey. from the first cord, the first note you were swept away I saw alot of bands live and nobody did what they did Freddie was the best front man ever this is a great song..simply perfect

  • freddy was a genius

  • @Syzygy60 Very true.. but this is Brian's song.

  • @xxkadieexx Definately. Only he would write a sci-fi song about a space traveler crossing the speed of light, and have it set in a jaunty maritime mode.

  • is about space travel and suspended animation to tyravel many light years

  • I think it might be more about the relativistic effects of near speed of light travel.

  • Night at the Opera was so much more than just Bohemian Rhapsody

  • @xaramf i soooooooo agree Bohemian Rhapsody is the song every one thinks of when they hear Queen but honestly i don't really like it, of course it's good but it doesn't even make my top 25

  • @1KevinsFamousChili1 The only reason Bohemian Rhapsody is considered their best song is because its like 10 genres of music in one song. Once you get past the fact that its an artistic masterpiece it isn't really that great of a song

  • "Once you get past the fact that its an artistic masterpiece it isn't really that great of a song"

Was that sarcastic? Or poorly worded? Regardless, it's a phenomenal song. "All Dead" has to be my favorite Queen song though.

  • @bohallor dude, it's a joke

  • @killdoser123 what the hell did i do????

  • @1KevinsFamousChili1 bohemian rhapsody should be in your top 25 :3

  • @xaramf Here, here!!!

  • for my life..still ahead..pity me ♥♥

  • this is my fav queen song. i really love queen's music.

  • Is that Brian May singing the lead vocals? Freddie didnt sing this? that's weird.

  • @Zain844 Yup. That's Brian May. He sings in a few other Queen songs, and even Roger Taylor sings a song (I'm In Love With My Car) on this album.

  • @2112rushfanforever Sounds very Bealtes/ John Lennonish

  • @Zain844 Yeah, I agree. Sounds a lot like the Beatles. Still excellent :)

  • @Zain844 Yeah, but Freddie sang it in concerts

  • Im 13 and i love this song

  • gahhh whyd i have to be born in 1996 instead of 1966 -_-

  • @imeeting Same here...

  • Also one of my favourites. Amazing in concert. None better.

  • Queen rocks, best ever i love '39 such a good song my favorite.

I always listen to it its the best!!I cant stop repeating the same thing its too good!!!!!

  • Actually it's about the non-linear character of space/time.

  • This is my favorite Queen song! What a band! I would have loved to see them play!

  • Frankly, Queen kinda lost me after "Sheer Heart Attack"-- too much campy operatic stuff. Yeah they didn't start getting "big" until this came out. I know, I know. Sorry.

Regardless, this is still a GREAT song... (as are others on this album).

  • 7 people voted for George W. Bush!

  • @Lewis1key this song is about space travle so thase 7 dislikes probably voted for obama since hes the one thats against space exploration. thats why he shut down NASA.

  • @damnyancey that is the dumbest stream of consciousness i've ever read

  • @Trogdorwillrise well then aparently you didnt read the original coment. maybe im stupid for pointing out that this song is about space travle and obama did scrap the space program. but some one who uses this song that has nothing what so ever to do with politics to take a jab at bush who has been out for allmost 3 yeras now, is just as dumb as a stump.

  • @Trogdorwillrise now that i've had time to think it over, i think i owe the stump an opology.

  • 7 people always look back, always fear, and ALWAYS cry.

  • @ilovefreddie09 definitely. Queen always had a way to play that special genre of rockra

  • opera + rock = perfection

  • Another great one from Brian!

  • this has to be one of the most underrated Queen songs out there

  • @rolliedean OMG, I was going to say the exact same thing, in much more complex terms, b/c as any1 familiar w/ my awesome youtube comments knows, I am overly loquacious&feel there are not many simple concepts or things in general about life. But you sum it up pretty good, and thusly save me over 100words, so TY for tha& TY for being a rare non-idiot on youtube, you rule!

  • @rolliedean no prophets song is definatley number one on that list

  • mainstream is for the masses, quality is for those who lick it like the ...whoa,I almost got out of control there, wouldn't be a 1st :)

  • Ahhhhhhh, real music and instruments!

  • is it eerie "for my life, still ahead, pity me" echoes brian's comments years and years later, that fred went out before he'd see his "own powers decline" - like old men (brian) inevitably do?

  • the intro and beginning verse is awesome , i feel like the rest of the song should have more continuity though, its kind of all over the place

  • An Evening With Queen 1974-1976 2DVD set, Queen Live at Earl's Court 1977 DVD available at Tommygun Video, please see our Youtube channel for video clips, link to site, and more info

  • i have this on vinyl. sadly my record player turns a bit slowly and i dont know how to fix it

  • one of the best classic rock albums EVER screw new music

  • My dad gave this album (Night at the Opera and A Day at The Races).

    Best thing ever.

I still don't understand why people my age think this is stupid.

  • @bonezillion Not sure how old you are but I'm 21 and this is one of my favorite albums. I always say I was born in the wrong era. Today's music is complete shit compared to what was coming out from the late 60's to late 70's. There's no quality left in mainstream music. A few good bands off the radar, but nothing like what used to be. It's a shame

  • @wccfl07 I'm 15...and I agree that mainstream music sucks. Like some of the artists have the potential to sing like old bands yet they continuously sing with auto tune and rap music. I like the Fratellis though... and they're a pretty modern band.

  • @bonezillion they think it's stupid b/c 1)They ARE stupid 2)They lack your musical maturity and will catch up w/ you later 3)They lack musical maturity and always will 4)They are about as deep as a puddle of piss left by naked mole-rat(and probably smell much the same as well) 5)They are just another worthless waste of space or 6)Any combo of#'s1 & 3-5. Just be happy you aren't any of the aforementioned&recognize 1 of the top 150 albums ever

  • @bonezillion I listened to them for the sole fact that they were named after some of my favorite Marx Bros films, glad I did.

  • @bonezillion I'm glad I'm not alone.

  • @bonezillion I know i got my whole football team to sing dragon attack on the bus.

  • @bonezillion Same here and News of the world. Im the only 12 year that knows!

  • @Ikeisbo

I'm 14 now, but I discovered great 60's-80's rock when I was 10, so I doubt your the only 12-year-old that knows.

  • @abcdefg234567890 I am 12. Ive loved Queen for 6 years my parents met at a Queen concert. I have all there cd's and some of there bootlegs!

  • One of my All-Time Favorite Queen songs ever.

  • Sci-fi folk song... just brilliant.

  • Fantastic! At last a song made for physicists!

  • Fantastic! At last a song for physicists!

  • From the style of music used, you wouldn't know that this song is talking about a future age year ending in 39.

  • @VicGeorge2K6 its about a space travler who experiances time dilation. he leaves in 39 & returns 100 years later only to have aged 1 year.

  • I love this song :D ♥

  • haha sound like mccartneys voice

    fuckin love queen

  • In the year of '39, came a ship in from the blue, the volunteers came home that day. And they brings good news of a world so newly born, though their hearts so heavily weigh. For the earth is old and grey, little darlin' we'll away, but my love this cannot be. Oh so many years ago, though I'm older but a year, your mothers eyes, from your eyes, cry to me. <3

  • This is my favorite song from this album. I was going to Michigan State University back when this album came out. My roommate Riddle and I used to play it over and over and open the windows and balst it out over the quad. Oh those were good days. peace.

  • epic

  • Oh, I'm in severe pain here! What happened to the instrumental ending after the last chorus????

  • is that Brian at 1:35?Or Roger?

  • @alexis246875 think it;s Roger

  • @alexis246875 Very obviously Roger. For Brian's falsetto, listen to Why Don't We Try Again or Earth (BV's).

  • @sebluthiers

Ahh, I've heard him do falsettos before I just didn't know if it was him or Roger but thanks

  • @alexis246875 ROGER

  • @alexis246875 for SURE its Roger look at the live versions

  • @alexis246875 Roger...

  • Best Queen song of all time :)

  • BRIAN <3

  • SUPER GRUPO!!!!

  • It's missing the final part!

  • brian may is the main singer on this track

  • Uh, this is a space opera people; nothing religious or historical at all.

  • ich liebe dieses lied

  • Absolutely beautiful song.

  • 超名曲です。

    なみだがでます

  • This is a great song.

Brian sounds a bit like Paul Mccartney here.

(Thats not a criticism, I think thats cool)

    Love Queen

  • @Roos5991 He sounds like Brian May

  • @runwayblond Yes he does :)

  • @Roos5991

The opposite of a criticism, that's very high praise. Well earned as well.

  • The best song ever!

  • I saw Queen 4 times between 74 and 76. Every show was a powerful experience. Having seen Zeppelin 9 times and the Stones, The Who, and every other band playing at that time I didn't expect a lot but they blew me away. Freddie was powerful and precise as any vocalist I've seen but he exuded sexuality in a way that's indescribable. They were truly great and his loss is a tragedy of epic proportion!

  • GREAT SONG!

  • I love queen, and I think Justin Bieber and all suck. I want such good bands back, man! I was born almost 20 years after the cd "A Night At The Opera" was brought out, and I'm glad my father raised me with good music haha!

  • @xVlindertje you would like foxy shazam's new album, start off with their song "evil thoughts".

  • I dont get you ppl... for me this seems to be a kind of a (good) parody of an american country music. Thats all! why always try to see something deep in music when it could be just a joke? ;)

  • @BeadsHamlet whether it is or isn't is simply an opinion, yes you can contemplate what this song COULD be, but it's nothing but stupid speculation, this is an amazing song!

  • @xxxslayerxxx666 Yes it is stupid. This song is what it is - Perfect

  • This song makes me cry. Imagine going away for a year and seeing a century has passed. And then you ask an old women to cry for you out of her mother's eyes...

  • yiiiii gooood song

  • This song should be the national anthem of every country.

  • beautiful song, angels voices for freddy !!!! god bless music...

  • SPACE travel .

  • write your letters in the sand for the day I take your hand, in the land that our grandchildren knew.

    G-NIUS

  • "For my life still ahead, pity me." - Trips me out every time.

  • Fantastic harmonies that are reminiscent of this ground breaking album @1.37 absolutely Queen at their very best.

  • great queen song, especially since brian may takes front stage. harmonies recall strawbs, mamas & papas, etc, but the imagination and poetry that went into this set it apart even from those other greats.

  • ending's missing, but fantastic song

  • his voice is so sweet and relaxing ..... thank you brian, we really love you :)

  • my favorite queeen song too. Lests go to dream with the 2039 year. ) Fuck off!!!! 2012 :P)

  • my favorite queeen song too. Lests go to dream with the 2019 year. ) Fuck off!!!! 2012 :P)

  • Saw Queen with Paul Rodgers in Cardiff a couple of years back. Brian bust a string playing this and was utterly choked when the crowd continued singing. A memory I'll cherish to the grave. Top bloke.

  • The song of space travel.

  • Me encanta Queen, y todas una por una de todas sus canciones!!!!

  • you guys who prefer brian's voice over freddies got to be kidding.brian sings well...but not a match for freddie

  • one of or the best what ever been made in stereo

  • one of or the best what ever be made in stereo

  • Folk + Rock + Opera = A Night at the Opera = Queen = THE BEST ROCK BANDS OF ALL TIMES!!! QUEEN!!

  • The best song of......Queen of Bryan May!!!The band of Maria-Magdalena.....

  • This is my favorite song by Queen currently :)

Brian May doesn't get the recognition he deserves as a songwriter

Too many people are focused on McCartney/Lennon to understand May's genius

  • Was CD mastering is this from? Sounds a bit nicer than my 30th Anniversary version.

  • what a good car song... hail QUEEN !

  • You SUCK for not finishing the song!!!

  • I just love this song, i play it all the time hihi

Don't you hear my call! Just ...♥♫♥

  • Queen, you are so talented!!

  • This is my face song by them. The lyrics just drive this song all the way into epic-ville.

  • This is the one song that Brian May regrets not making a hit single

  • 5 people are asswipes

  • @queenkixass

    You're pathetic.

  • @QueenReigns1 How am I pathetic???

  • Queen jsou nej škoda že neměli koncert v česku.

  • A Night at The Opera 35 years today (11/21/1975)

  • Sing it Brian ... Sing it !!!

  • Queen guitarist Brian May wrote this. The song is about an astronaut who travels to a distant place at near the speed of light. Because of the time dilation that takes place at these speeds, he and his crew return home 100 years later. He has aged only a year but sadly finds that his wife has long passed on and that he is about the same age as his grandchildren. Incredible song.

  • @Stonebr1dge ... I bought this album when it first came out in '75...until this day...35 years later, I NEVER knew what it was about!!!! Thank you so much for your insightful and knowledgable info...this was ALWAYS my favorite on the album. And, of course, Brian May is brilliant! Thank you

  • this song is one of my favorit songs from queen

  • This is my favorite Queen song. I can listen to it over and over! Another talented band from the past!

  • the end is missing!
