That's a paradox.
And I am just NOW getting to know this group, I wish I had when Freddy was alive because his talent, the entire group's talents extend so far it is almost endless.
Bohemian Rhapsody is indeed an incredible song, but when it comes to their more epic piano compositions, I have to say March of the Black Queen is my favorite. My Fairy King is pretty good too.
i can stop loving the lyrics of this song because an amazing story of science or more importantly physics and that just makes it x3000000000000000 better

@xaramf i soooooooo agree Bohemian Rhapsody is the song every one thinks of when they hear Queen but honestly i don't really like it, of course it's good but it doesn't even make my top 25
@1KevinsFamousChili1 The only reason Bohemian Rhapsody is considered their best song is because its like 10 genres of music in one song. Once you get past the fact that its an artistic masterpiece it isn't really that great of a song
Frankly, Queen kinda lost me after "Sheer Heart Attack"-- too much campy operatic stuff. Yeah they didn't start getting "big" until this came out. I know, I know. Sorry.
Regardless, this is still a GREAT song... (as are others on this album).

@bonezillion Not sure how old you are but I'm 21 and this is one of my favorite albums. I always say I was born in the wrong era. Today's music is complete shit compared to what was coming out from the late 60's to late 70's. There's no quality left in mainstream music. A few good bands off the radar, but nothing like what used to be. It's a shame

In the year of '39, came a ship in from the blue, the volunteers came home that day. And they brings good news of a world so newly born, though their hearts so heavily weigh. For the earth is old and grey, little darlin' we'll away, but my love this cannot be. Oh so many years ago, though I'm older but a year, your mothers eyes, from your eyes, cry to me. <3
This is my favorite song from this album. I was going to Michigan State University back when this album came out. My roommate Riddle and I used to play it over and over and open the windows and balst it out over the quad. Oh those were good days. peace.
I saw Queen 4 times between 74 and 76. Every show was a powerful experience. Saw Queen with Paul Rodgers in Cardiff a couple of years back. Brian bust a string playing this and was utterly choked when the crowd continued singing. A memory I'll cherish to the grave. Top bloke.
Queen guitarist Brian May wrote this. The song is about an astronaut who travels to a distant place at near the speed of light. Because of the time dilation that takes place at these speeds, he and his crew return home 100 years later. He has aged only a year but sadly finds that his wife has long passed on and that he is about the same age as his grandchildren. Incredible song.
@Stonebr1dge ... I bought this album when it first came out in '75...until this day...35 years later, I NEVER knew what it was about!!!! Thank you so much for your insightful and knowledgable info...this was ALWAYS my favorite on the album. And, of course, Brian May is brilliant! Thank you
I love new wave so much, but I always end up coming back to Queen. Fucking brilliant.

This is my favorite song by Queen currently :)
Brian May doesn't get the recognition he deserves as a songwriter
Too many people are focused on McCartney/Lennon to understand May's genius

Thank you
