Some folks can play well and get focused when baked. I've ski'd, played ball, played halo, and wakeboarded baked and it's not too bad. It allows you to focus on one thing and not get distracted.

As far as reaction time, good players don't need quick reactions becuase they're not being surprised. They have a plan and dictate the game so you don't need to twitchy as much a smart.
