American casualties in Vietnam where around 58,000. Their wounded around 303,500, almost 6 to 1. Each war is different, the FALKLANDS WAR for instance had less artillery, air, and armour support than your 'conventional' war. It's recently be revealed that the fleet was carrying nuclear weapons, which it didn't have time to unload. I suspect that's what they were trying to cover up (and failed). I suspect they might have planned to use them in the result of a defeat, which could have proven politically devastating if that was the case.

The facts speak for themselves without help Britain would have lost the Falklands wars. Argentinian pilots were angry that their leaders surrendered, they would easily won if the war had continued. The entire British fleet would have been sunk !

The Argentine Airforce may have been able to sink ships in San Carlos water, but out in open sea they wouldnt have got past the British CAP. to have sunk the entire British fleet, yes they would have got a few more ships, but by then the Argentinian ground forces had folded!

The US actually said the falklands war was impossible to win considering just how close the Flaklands islands were to Argentina and how far away it was for Britain. There were so many factors against Britian winning this war and the British victory with no help what so ever is a millitary triumph.
The maker of this vid is obviously a biasd arshole and is from argentina himself.

Strange video. I've got no dog in this fight (not argentine or a brit) but this bit about the UK winning because of the US is nonsense. The brits won the war on their own. The truth is that the Soviet Union rushed to offer direct military aid to the argentines which the argentines acted coy about, alarming the US and the US ended up backing the UK.

This vid is just a butt hurting vid and the uploader just can't take it that the UK battered the shit out of the argies but he must understand that when you pit a pro soldier against a child that's been taken out of school and given 3 weeks training...the conclusion is inevitable. Appologies for my wack keyboard. If your going to question the deaths then you need a little evidence rather than just speculating. Most of your logic is wrong as with what I said about the death to wounded ratio. In Nam for example...many GI's died as it was in humid conditions where as in the Falklands...the conditions were cold and this is what led to the modern understanding that we have of what to do with severed limbs etc.

You do realise that Britain not only were really outnumbered, Argentina actully had supplies from the French (there misslies), the American LVTP-7 tank, the American SH-3 Sea King helicopter, the Italian OTO Melara Model 56/14 Pack Howitzer, the American and Beligium Browning Hi-Power side arm, our Sterling submachine gun and finaly the American Browning Machine Gun, Cal. .50, M2, HB... Plus, we retook the islands in a matter of months... And whats this "We shall return"????? Like hell you will

The British forces where better equipped and led than the Argentinians.
American casualties in Vietnam where around 58,000. Their wounded around 303,500, almost 6 to 1. Each war is different, the FALKLANDS WAR for instance had less artillery, air, and armour support than your 'conventional' war. Ships and soldiers don't just go missing, maybe in your country...they would be noticed here, they would be honoured.

That is the reason why the ratio is high compared to previous conflict's that were more lasting. The reality is and it is recognised by many countries is that the task force won a decisive victory against an enemy that was larger and better supported due to it's proximity to the FALKLAND island's. You lost and that is the truth, it is up to you whether you accept that or not.

The idea that the defender had an overwhelming advantage over the attacker can be refuted by looking at the causalty figures of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
The British forces didn't recieve any help besides the loan of an aircraft carrier from the US (which didn't come with a crew, so the offer was turned down).
And Argentina was being supplied with aircraft and Exocet missiles from the French, so that comment about "no help" is a lie too.
It was close war.

It's recently be revealed that the fleet was carrying nuclear weapons, which it didn't have time to unload. I suspect that's what they were trying to cover up (and failed). I suspect they might have planned to use them in the result of a defeat, which could have proven politically devastating if that was the case.

Probably - a plan to use nuclear weapons sounds more like something the British government would want to keep quiet. The US helped the UK many times prior to the war, so I don't see any reason why this would need be kept a secret.

@Guncriminal The nuclear weapons in question were low yield depth chages to destroy Soviet attack submarines(which was the RN's cold war role) there was no time to drop them of before the ships headed south. So the RN in the south Atlantic would of had no means to deploy nuclear weapons against Argentina even if the Politicians had of wanted to(which seems very unlikely to me) .

So with regard to Stinger which only brought down one Argentinian plane that help was negligable. The sidewinder helped a great deal... but then again the Exocets helped the Argentinians a great deal more! so your argument is a load of toilet!

@kurtwilkendorff - I mean that the soldiers who would have otherwise bled to death, survived, because the low temperature prevented bleeding. Of course in long-time cold itself causes casualties, but in cases of wounds it was shown that at least some wounded were saved by low temperature.

The purpose of this video is not to prove the number of british fallen by any convincing evidence, it just invites you to think that if there were no higher number of deaths, then there wouldnt had been a reasonable reason to put it into a military secrecy
