  • I believe China is behind this. It doesn't matter if they admit to it or not, our current administration has no back bone to do anything about it.

Our president would simply say "we need to talk" and that would be it. He might go as far as to say "this is not nice". But I doubt he would take that firm a stand.

  • New subscriber.

American living in Europe because I couldn't get healthcare back home. Been off the grid since 1994. Cited as 100% accurate in my metals predictions this year by Endlessmountain, and I do rune readings for a place KittenKattan just talked about. I am shocked that many of my pals think war is a good idea for these cyber attacks. I say it is NOT. Five stars.

  • Love the black & white vid... makes for a dramatic look :)

  • Let's just blame it on... um... FRANCE...I mean CANADA... no...UM... AUSTRALIA yeah AUSTRALIA never gets blamed for anything it's THEIR turn...I think they can take it :O)

  • YASHRN!

  • i wonder what monetary impact it has caused.

  • A world leading producer of counterfeit currency and synthetic drugs.

Dozens of non-Korean and hundreds of South Korean abductees held

Tens of thousands of political prisoners in concentration camps

Millions of starving people with no hope

Hacking some web pages is the last reason to take military action, but if there was ever a case of a government guilty of crimes against humanity that other nations should cooperate to bring down, this has to be it.

  • unbelievable. wow. great vid man, dig the black and white and composition. artist!

  • The best way of responding to this is to find the organ of the viruses. Once this is done, create a similar way of retribution to the entity that has sent out the sententials. This must be done to the code of international law or throught a loop hole.

It seems that a electronic cold war has started and the best way is to stop it in the most peaceful way.

  • SK is responsible for this. Once they get the US involved, they know they can keep the US here with the threat of NK attacking Alaska? So now the US is on higher alert, as usual, with no intention on leaving SK, therefore the US military acts as an insurance policy for SK to keep hold of their foreign investment both internationally as well as domestically. Imagine if one day, the US Military suddenly left SK. So would all their foreign investors. Very clever SK, but you can't fool me.

  • I think there's more to it than is being reported in the media that's for sure, but what it is exactly, I do not know. That is most certainly way above my pay grade.

  • bring the hammer down..lol

    sorry I found that funny,

    just cause Im still sick.

    **Kisses**

  • if it was a country going for this crime then it would be a act of war, if it was a 12 year old in the parents basement then it would be a act of crime

  • also the royal australian defense page was attacked

  • What if it wasn't North Korea, but a group wanting the US to go to war with North Korea? Just a thought. Until all is done, it's all skepticism.

  • i dont think that would be an act of war however i do think that would be a crime against the world and if north korea did then kim jong il (however you spell it) should be punished in a matter, however the nuclear weapons testing in itself and the threats, even though they've been unable to hit the us i think that is an act of war because they are trying to attack us personally i think we should take down kim jong il before he is able to do so, even if it means destroying north korea

  • Great video Steve. I love how you created the lighting and excellent subject matter!

  • Yeah, it doesn't add up to me either. It wouldn't surprise me if it was an extremist group working totally on their own, but we'll see I guess.

I'm not sure how to answer your question but I keep thinking back on how the invention of air travel changed the way wars were fought and also created a new battlefield. This Internet bares a lot of similarity and I hate to think of the various possibilities of what may be ahead.

  • I don't think it would be wise to consider this as an act of war. Cyber attacks are actually done by a lot of people, which means this could've been done by a North Korean citizen who's got nothing to do with plans of the North Korean government and so it'd be very dangerous to consider it an act of war.

Either way, whether it was the North Korean government or not, it didn't kill anyone, so threathening with death, so to say, wouldn't be the proper thing to do.

  • Classing this as an act of war would set a very dangerous precedent.

I, for one, would be totally against any military action in this instance. It's just not justified.

Military action should always be a last resort, not the first :)

  • man you look great in black and white!

  • In our times, classic warfare (invading countries, bringing destruction, incl. human casualties, by the useage of artillery and ballistic weapons) ought to be on no war strategist's mind any more. On the other hand, the GENERAL concept of warfare should be on NO MAN'S mind any more. Cyber warfare? For nutcases; where's the end of that?!

And yet, the German Secretary of the Interior plans on spying on every Internet user here, "for safety reasons"!

Hm, sorry, got no smart answer for you..

  • Instead, the next video I'll watch right now, is WATERFALL, the new music video by South Korean guitar prodigy Sungha Jung (YouTuber jwcfree). And I know I will love it, because it is sheer beauty, clothed in sounds.

Maybe, Kim Jong Il should take a peek on that, too. Might help, to rinse and flush his brains, wash out the stupidity from it, and see what life is really about.

So: No smart answer, Steve, as I said - just some blue-eyed philosophical rant. Sorry.

And I'm off to Sungha :-)!

  • I think the mood is that IF it were the North Koreans, the cyber attacks would be more directed at Japan than at the South and the US. The US tends to have an over-inflated view of itself, spoon fed to the people by the nightly news, and the US is not even a major factor in the real "North Korean issue"--I see it as Japan primarily. Why would the North not cyber attack Japan? They see Japan as enemy Number 1, not US, NOT South Korea.

  • Maybe their just testing us like they test their Nukes.. Next time there might be a bigger bang on cyberworld! If it was found out that it really was North Korea behind it, then I would consider it an act of war, then "liberate" them :-)

  • Yes its an act of war imo but not one that necessarily mandates invasion but a defenite response measure milatary take out of thier supposed missle launch areas not excluded. This being with PROOF and UN approval as well as multi national.

    Marc in NYC

  • I suggest we all look after our own back yard and don't point the blame. Simply tighten up systems and protection on those environments is the best action.

  • +1 [comment too short]

  • Aria, yes but too the point. I hate Wars. Just look after securing and prevent antagonising, or provoking

  • wow, you said Aria=D thanks=P

  • @Jordmate

    Agreed.

The U.S. should tend to their own business, tighten up security nationally and refrain from Military action.

Perhaps the U.N. could lead an investigation of these allegations.

  • Qi...the US needs north korea as a boogyman to fund future military adventurism. So...its pretty much business as usual I think. NK = puppet regime of the US.

  • Or proxy threat against China. South Korea benefits from the US presence here. The US is also here on their own terms.
