@unitedben14 Nice i really like old minis, they can be made to look really cool and can be very fast with the right engine :D well i paid 400£ to buy it, and that was about 2 years ago hehe so the capri is looking way cooler now, its been lowered, i have done loads of body work, i painted it bought new things i could go on forever but it has probably cost about £900 by now, with isent too bad over 2 years, but i have bought loads of equipment with that money that can be used on other cars etc..
@wackosammy ye thats true i dont know much about my classic cars but im hopping to get my austin soon then i wanna do a fair bit too it deep dish rims etc ive been looking for bits already also i was wondering if you knew of any good induction kits for a mini also would you know how much a full body respray would cost thanks buddy
@unitedben14 It can be hard to tell what it would cost to get it painted, if a body shop did it it could be £200- £1500 depends what you want them to do, if its in really good condition and they dont have to repair panels etc then maybe £400+ the mini is very small too paint so i dont think it would be over £1000 hard to say..
Not so sure on induction kits for minis but my uncle had a mini with a k&n induction kit and it sounded ace, i have one on my capri too so i would recommend k&n :)
@unitedben14 i think if you were too get the 1.3 engine then im sure it would get good mpg, since its a small engine and a very light car, i would say about 40 mpg! which is great
1st of all, fuck me! £400 quid is a bargin! 2nd your house is fucking huge, dont be so tight lol, my 1st car was a capri, 2litre laser, still drive capris an dont think i'll change. but for fuck sake take it easy, dont drive like billy big bollocks, i had to rebuild my first capri twice after 2 bad write offs, majority of people would have scrapped it, it was that bad, they are very old school handling, never corner fast in the wet, dont even corner normall pace in the wet, lol, good luck.
@kenny123yeha i checked the insurance for a ford capri 1.6 laser for a new driver aged 17 and its only £3100 a year, a peugeot 205 xr is £4000 a year so its cheaper to have a rear wheel drive :D
@RamoneRadio You could always get it insured by your mum or dad, then you could be secondary driver, and i worked it out to be about 350-600! Not bad :)
i got a golden 3.0 s capri..fully original

beautiful car... getting one myself when time allows it... probably next year though....
still its a prime coupe for a student to have as its affordable if you buy one thats worth the money you pay.
if you get a £600 capri, you get £600 worth of capri. the most expensive ones are the best.
