After 9/11 there was a version of the song sung in tribute to a specific brigade that answered and (as myth has it) a fire fighter who was said to have sung the original song enroute to the towers. Either way, I prefer to view it as honoring to any song if to be sung in tribute to people who gave their lives for others - hardly stealing!!! Still, opinions will vary!

Yes, there were plenty of Welshmen in the regiment at the time of the battle. The filmmakers took some liberties, but otherwise the film is mostly accurate. Even if it wasn't, it's still a great movie.
