  • It's quite refreshing to see a man reading cards really!

Lovely video! I look forward to see more :)

  • It's not true that anybody can read tarot cards. I think you would have to have an extraordinary amount of intuition in order to meaningfully employ the cards. Anybody can develop that kind of intuition of course, but not many people have it and wanting to learn to read tarot is not a sufficient motivation to develop that kind of intuition. I wouldn't encourage people to read some material on tarot and start advising people on their lives.

  • Tarot isn't for divination.

You should look at it the way you look at the Kabbalistic tree of life.

  • awesome, Chris! I feel the same way: anybody can read cards. I love what you said here. I take a similar approach to teaching people how to read cards.

  • Great video. It really helps. I plan on spending some time with my cards today. :)

  • when people try to memorise the cards, try memorising the largest category first, (im not sure if the largest is major or minor arcana or etc.) but then move to the next largest until you get to the smallest, that way it starts hard but gets easier quickly.

  • Well done, after years of reading cards have taken on their own meaning from the strict ones I had to lean in the begining.

  • this has been so helpful, i was worried about being able to learn tarot as i didnt think i could remember all the cards but this is helping me thank you

  • This is like playing Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters

  • bull shit

  • I found this video quite good as a few days ago I bought my first deck of Tarot cards and needed to know the basics. Thankyou for posting this video as it helped me and I will be watching your later videos.

  • Thank you!!

  • Flame + double post = fail.

  • I am siting a physically reproduceable phenomena of which is documented in "The Secret In The Bible" by Tony Bushby, and also further in "The History and Practice of Magic" by Paul Christian. A beam of light into a 'ben ben' or pyramid capstone will reproduce 'Lamed' and the shadows cast from this produce the 22 glyphs or 'letter's of light' the Taro or ROTA as in rotation or evolution, comes from, and this is well documented, and physically reproduceable.

  • You are a wonderful teacher and very interesting to watch. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the vid found it very informative : )

  • Finally a real to life video, by an actual reader from, obviously, the Craft! Good video! Bravo, I gave it an excellent rating, put it on my favs, and I hope you join my channel as a friend and watch my videos as well. Thanks.

  • what deck is this... its really pretty!!!

  • Arthurian Tarot . You can get them from me, or most other metaphysical stores. They are published by Samuel Weiser.

  • Here is how tarot is really supposed to work:

follow suit if possible, if void in the suit play a trump card. The fool may be played to any trick regardless of suit.

Kings are worth 5 points, queens 4 points, knights 3 points and the jacks are worth 2 points! Tarot is really for card games, people

  • ..isn't that how you play astrology?

  • Yes! I was going to post something similar. Cool you've listed the point values of the cards too!

  • Here's how tarot is supposed to work! follow suit, if you can't follow suit, play a trump card. the winner of the trick leads the next. The fool may be played at any trick regardless of suit!

  • Also, people should be aware... the fool is the highest card... but it CAN be taken in a trick. If someone plays down the world and the next person takes the world with the fool the third person can take the trick with the magician. This is what is called "the Emperor's Trick"!

  • Just take it on the chin and admit this is an elaborate fantasy with no real scientific value or purpose. It's entertainment, just like people who claim to be "psychic mediums", and to put it forward as anything else is sick.

  • only the using power of sprit and soul can get the way of tarot.this is my way.

  • Great video ...

  • Part 1, tarot4games there was no error on my part, Tarot reading and readers are here to stay deal with it. There is nothing you can do about it. People did Tarot readings before you were born and they will continue way after you are gone and forgotten. Plus i just received more students. So if this quote Tarot card reading didn't work people wouldn't experience first hand and continue with the fascinating study into the human psyche. It would go by the wayside just like Phrenology.

  • Quote: "...Tarot card reading didn't work people wouldn't experience first hand and continue with the fascinating study into the human psyche."

You are kidding of course! People are superstitious and poorly educated in the sciences so this nonsense survives.

  • zzytrewq as usual people of your caliber simply picked a portion of a statement and twist it into something its not. Since you tube doesn't provide space for proper comments I had to break it down into parts. So Einstein that's why part, 1,2,3.

  • ..I didn't twist anything. You are typical of Tarot readers et al that never actually describe how it works as part of your response.

  • Do you guys seriously think this sort of thing is a science?

  • Part 2 Did you know I have worked with licensed psychologist Art Rosengarten of over 25 years in private practice, where he started slowly using tarot cards instead of the Rorchach and TAT tests. By using bio-feed back his staff has proven the tarot imagery has remarkable positive calming affect on the human brain of bio-polar and severe depressed patients.

  • I didn't know that, but I sincerely doubt that's true. "Bio-polar" disorder can't really be treated with this sort of thing.

  • Tarot are beautiful cards, indeed... but wouldn't they also have a beneficial and calming effect in the context of playing a game? Many people play hands of cards in order to relax and have a good time. You don't need to bring the hocus-pocus spiritual aspect into it to reap Tarot's benefits!

  • Oooh, I have the Hallowquest deck--beautiful!

  • Wizard Master; LOL!

  • Tarot has no historical connections with astrology or Kabbalah. The Tarot deck was created for playing a trick taking card game. Descendents of the original tarot card game are still played in France, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria. Tarot is really for card games, people!

  • So...are you saying that the bible's wrong about tarot cards being dark magic?

  • The Bible doesn't mention tarot cards at all! The tarot deck was created in 15th century Italy for playing a card game. Tarot's alleged connection with the occult is based entirely on pseudo-history.

  • My friend said Tarot Cards are black magic from the Devil, Is that true?

  • No, Sam Walton of Wal-Mart invented them.

  • lol no that's not true dark they're just a form of divination I think I probably would have seen him by now then, neither's magick you'd be surprised how you can make a spell happen with just your own energy )o(

  • Part 3 I have a novel Idea for you tarot4games and tarockspieler, why don't you both take on the endeavor of facilitating a video better or equal to monte4amy's, Instead of just complaining like two misunderstood wayward teenagers with nothing better to do, or do you simply lack the focus, intelligence, imagination and creativity?

  • lol grow up "destructor" stop fighting over your keyboard

  • No, Tarot cards aren't of the devil. They were created for a really fun trick-taking card game in the 15th century and then later twisted into silly cartomancy by pseudo-mystics in the 18th century. People still can and DO play the card game, however.

  • Actually, no, you are wrong. Both tarot cards and the Ouija board are very old. However, they had different names in the times of old. I have several old references on this of physical nature. I am a metaphysical writer and a metaphysical store owner, so I do know what I am talking about.

  • Duckhugger is right! Neither tarot nor ouija are old as dirt!

There is no doubt that tarot cards were made for games not divination!

    pagat dot com slash tarot

    tarock dot net

    shogix dot net

  • Duckhugger... (sigh, typing this again) true, Tarot has its origin in gaming, that is a matter of historical record. However, because the card's origins are involved in a game does not box them into that catagory for all time. Just because someone made an object for a particular purpose does not mean that the object must be only used for its original intent. Please feel free to use the cards for the game, that's actually very cool. Just please don't try to dictate that this is their only use.

  • Y'know it's not the fact that people use the cards for fortune telling that peeves me really, it's that the people who push that use for them distort, lie about, and ignore the actual history of the Tarot. They push some deep historical genesis for the cards from ancient Egypt or the Kaballah or whatever and they skip right over the REAL history, trying to bury it behind them! Y'know, people like to play music with spoons, but those people aren't asserting an alternate history behind spoons!

  • great video, has helped me a lot, thanks
