Hi my name is Ruzaini and we are the organiser of a prestigeous Royal Belum World Drum Festival, Malaysia and would like to invite your group to participate in the event from 21-26 February 2012. If you interested kindly send your email to worlddrumsfest@gmail.com. A great oppurtunity to intruduce abt your country to Malaysian. Thank you and looking forward for your early reply. Cheers
@Ellatha1 It is never too late to learn. Same goes for pitch and singing. Anyone can learn pitch and rhythm if they do the proper exercises. I do not believe anyone is "non-rhythmical" or "tone deaf". Passing these hurdles is simply a matter of the proper type of practice and training. Anyone can do it!
@demagetube Is there a way I can send you a correspondence through PM (or you to me)? Your channel is not available and I'd like to ask you some questions out of the public eye?
We underestimate what our fingers are capable of. Before I ever played the tabla (doumbek) I was already doing triplet rolls with my left ring finger, left index finger, and a right finger, and adding various accents to the right finger. I recently discovered the playing of tabla masters and acquired my first tabla. We are channeling both inner and external energies. We are a conduit for these energies as we enjoy our physical form and the drum itself is the receiver.

I love the reactions of the guys looking at the camera! While I don't play the dumbek but have played other instruments, why is everyone so critical? I would imagine there are different styles or techniques which depend on many things.
@Ellatha1 Ha! Never made a video of that, but I am making a video of me playing this with my nose hairs. Takes a lot of practice but eventually a sound comes out. The hard part is getting comfortable.
@demagetube This will sound strange but is it me or do the very best players almost look like their fingers have a life of their own and disconnected from their hands? Do you know what I mean?
It realy is unbelivable because he does an remarcabely job on shifting from the "normal" arabic rythm into "roman" rythm as it was peace of cake :) HARIKA HARIKA!!!
@Nihilist15 I am Turkish myself, and I think what you are saying is totally wrong. Stop this nonsensical hatred towards Armenians and towards ANY culture around the world. Really? You are proud to hate? I wish the best for you, I have faith you can improve and be positive, and not take so much pride in your hatred. And hey, lighten up, this is a beautiful rhythm video, congratulations to this gentleman for playing so well.
@DrumTeknique I am an armenian, and i feel the same way about the armenian youth., thank you for having open eyes. now i know history and it wont stop me from being friends with a turkish person. we will have to look over the facts together, and work out a solution. this hate toward eachother is ridiculous, there are barely any survivors left alive from the genocide so why are all these armenians and turkish people fighting still... it doesnt make sense to me
@amokaci38 Who's technic do you think this guy is using?? That of Misirli Ahmet ;). So who do you think is better?? If you dont believe me check out the videos, jus search for "Misirli Ahmet".

I just hate your politcal system, goverment and everyone who is against greece, so let's say more than 50% of turkish people.
You shouldn't hate at all you, don't you realize even hating a little bit of something is still bad. What political system or government in this world ISN'T messed up? They all are corrupt and wrong in some way. Greek gov.t, Turkish gov.t, French gov.t, Italian gov.t, and so on...Stefanos, I hope your hatred towards anything or anyone in life goes away for good. Even if it is "just" 50% of a country. I hope you shall one day be enlightened to do so. Find your passion...

Am I correct that toumperleki, doumbek and darbuka are all the same instrument? What then is a tabla?

@Ellatha1 Indian Tabla is those two drums, Arabic Tabla is also known as Doumbek, or Darbuka. The word Tabla means drum.
