  • no probs and its all good!

  • sorry reddog but u know the history which some of the cat's don't know..

  • what is missing now, it appears is that attitude and swagger the jsettes used to carry. u can just see it coming off of them in this video and in boots too. i hate these new school people who act like boots is so 1950s and try to be all "technique"

  • @chicagomarchingbands u so right and what is missing from the j settes now is the costumes and the elitness that set them aside from all the other schools they doing what everybody is doing they not a step ahead in the game anymore.homecoming they use 2 put on a show do something great now its just a regular dance

  • damn that first group was moving..... I see why she was captan... oh Girl was on that 50 and was working da hell out of those boots!

  • Everyone talks about the best captain...If you were older, you would know these names and be able to compare. Best captain to date was Gwanzetta Ant hony in the mid 70's. Gwan, could handle all that march and dance to date. Kathy Pinkston Worthy was a great Captain..She maybe the sponsor today, but in her day, no one could salt and pepper like her...Adrienne Armstrong was pure Fire and you just looked in "Awe" whenever she lead them. Delicia Dean, Unbelievable! Now she is VEGAS Showgirl.

  • @REDDOG525 SPEACHINGLIKE OLD SCHOOL WASSUP ROY

  • @lpage87 LOL...Not him but I'm familiar with the twirler, Roy. I'm not quite as old and I came to JSU a few years later.

  • @REDDOG525 sorry guy but you know the history an maybe some of the cat's that are leaving comment's about the younger ladies should do the same an DE-De was my fav in her time wanted her to be cap. but i was told she had no patience in teaching lol meaning she want them to get it on the first couple of tries. so thanks guy

  • I agree! Aquitta was my favorite personally. Number 1, she looks like Stacy Dash and has always brought high-energy to everything she did w/ the Jsettes. A.Butler comes in second to me.

  • the girl on the 50 in the 2nd group look like she is wearing a dapend!

  • LMAO!!!!!!!!

  • This is what I love about them...they just flow effortlessly and kills it,

  • was she in da 1st group or da 2nd group

  • the first group, she's on the 50

  • first of all her name is africhana not not damn afro an dont forget aquitta cpt 2000-2001 she was a beast also

  • funny how ur corrections were wrong quite ironic

  • i really dont care what u say her name isnt no afro or however yall want to spell it i know her personally and i marched with the 2001 squad so i know what im talkin bout thanx!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol.. u betta get me together! lol! ms I know barack obama personally!

  • Now you let have have it!!!!

  • @Eclefticsoul....If you were referring to me, 'no harm no foul!' I love the pizazz Afrachanna brought to the J-Settes during her years and she was AWESOME. Just had to mention some of the great ones that came before her.

  • Aquitta lives here in Atl...saw her a week ago...still a BLAZE

  • quitta is from the atl u will see her still lookin good doobie was here bout a week ago at lenox

  • yeah she and I and her best friend Kat were all 2 gether and they both went to McNair High and you couldnt go to sleep on them back then ! tehy were sum beasts !!!!!

  • but u know what when quitta left no j-settes still to this day cant out march her she has one of the baddest salt an pepper marches period !!! thats my girl tho she was a beast an probably still is

  • She marched the hardest, but Afrashonna marched her ass off too...In 99 we all marched and that was the best line when it comes to marching past, present, and current.

  • and her get ready super kick was unrivaled! I've NEVER seen one more powerful or better period.

  • @firestarr98 FROM 99 UNTIL NOW THEY ARE NOT SALT AN PEPPER AS YOU ALL CLAIM THEY ARE LIKE THEY WANT TO CLAW SOMEONE GO BACK TO THE EIGHT'S AN SEE HOW S-P IS MARCH AN MARCHING HARD DO MEAN NOTHING HAVE GRACE WITH IT

  • honestly yall all have 2 agree each captain brought something whether good or bad 2 the style that made us either love or hate the settes they started 2 suck when they stopped wearing boots on the field started lookin highschoolish and now they have bout 20 girls out there and not dazzlin nobody which suck u got 20 people and cant come up wit some shit they drive the crowd wild back in channa day they only used 7-9 at halftime

  • well, the boots were fine. but it's certain things now thta the j-settes can do without the boots that they can't do while dancing with the boots on. I personally like the new dance shoes, but i must admit, they did work the he!! out of them routines with the boots. boots or no boots, the j-settes use to put on a show. i don't think they need that many girls anyways. 12-16 is enough for me

  • We had one game in 99 where we used all the Settes...dont stop till you get enough...horrible..LOL....Dont put that on here...but its not the amount..its the space..we had alot of space and room to dance..cause we used them for the first game too...Boogie Wonderland

  • @kaptainkrunk YES THEY ALSO NEED TO BRING THOSE WHITE SHOE'S AN WHITE GLOVES OLD SCHOOL

  • Yeah, it is known that Afrochanna "defined" the j-sette style, but ya'll need to give Naquila her dues as she was an outstanding performer on both the field and the stands. She was always consistent and never lacked in the stands or field. Afrochanna was hell on the field, but could have picked it up in the stands. Go Naquila! You rock Jasma!

  • YES!!! I agree!! I think that Shanna perfected the j-sette style but i think that Naquila maintained it. She was a beast in the stands and i think she's SOOOOOOOO under rated. I've never gotten bored watching her. To me, maybe next to Shanna, Naquila was the best j-sette captain.

  • i like this one 2 but i like when they did it in 97 too when alisha and reshida was on the squad wit channa

  • Afro was good but i don't think that she is better than my girl Jasmine. She really rocks the house when she dance.

  • Jasma and Afrocanna should even be in the same sentence together. Afrocanna was not only a great dancer she came up with some of the best routine ever created in majorette history.

  • I meant to say Jasma and Afrocanna shouldnt even be put in the same sentences together.

  • No J-sette captain had anything on Afrachanna. This dance was simple but, hott. She didn't need 44 stunts to wow a crowd. The J-settes are the "J-SETTES" because of afrachanna, j-sette became a dancing still, not just a aquad at jsu... I like Jas, but please...

  • ALRIGHT NOW

  • Was she with the 1st set of girls, or the 2nd?

  • she is in the 1st set...i believe that is Quita on the 50 in the second.

  • I LOVE IT... So much energy!!! Great work

  • bout dayum time Afro, the so called JSETTE got some fottage online lol

  • Damn. Afro was on point. When was this?

  • that was nice...

  • Oh yes I remember this....they was sticking every move....i love it...keep it coming DYME
