Someone please tell me how to cluster properly. I have my beastmode comp that i use, and then i have 2 average comps with dual cores, 1 has 2 ggs of ram and the other has 1 gig. I wana use these low end comps to assist my beastmode running windows to run my minecraft server and shit. As u may or may not know minecraft servers suck the shit out or ur comps resources. I just wana run shit alittle better. I have all the tools needed to run this, i got an 8 port switch, 2 secondary comps, ect heelp
@Mult1RacialGr0up Well mate at the momment this computer doesnt load normal porn only gay porn at 44444444444444 gb not kb or mb of speed connection per microsecond !!
I hacked into this mainframe to print in the BASIC interpreter HELLO WORLD but then the computer just crashed and runned another gay video i dont really know why !
@hotstyleTECH It allows all the computers to solve problems at super fast speeds because the master node sends out work for the other computers connected to it . For example the master node has a 3.0 dual core cpu = 6 ghz , the other all have single 2 ghz cpu's 2 x 3 = 6
6 + 6 = 12 ghz
Therefore super fast , so the programs made to run on the cluster run really fast , like the weather services use clusters and super computers
@ghostmarine1000, sorry, but that's not exactly correct. although you've essentially doubled the processor power, you haven't improved it's speed. When running single-threaded applications on a single-core and dual-core processor, the program will run at the exact same speed on both systems.
Clustering is just more or less a way to exponentially increase output of a program that are designed to make use of multi-threaded processor
@ghostmarine1000 hmm 3 4GHz bulldozers would make a GREAT pc 8x4 = 24GHz per pc 24x3 = 72GHz. i think that will run things very well.... *goes into lab" mwahahahahaha
@ghostmarine1000 You don't add it together, if you have a dual core at 2.8ghz it's just to cores running at 2.8ghz its not 5.6ghz you just have more cores running the application
People say that Windows NT is the best OS to use for cluster computing because it is very stable. Windows 2k may work fine too. and also i think that windows nt uses no code to install it. so you can just download it pirated without all the genuine problems.
@HerrGubba Windows!? Are you kidding? For clusters it´s best use redhat, or openmosix. Google uses linux on their clusters, but it´s a costum linux kernel. Many data centers uses redhat, and linux it´s free and open source.
@FluteTotallyRocks It was a first attempt, Ubuntu server is now running on all of the servers in my server farm. Windows was for when i never knew anything in linux but linux is worth a lot more than windows.
@xiec Well i need to get the software sorted out that is the biggest challenge , but i plan on eventually turning it into a ftp and web server and game server.
However the main reason iam trying to perfect this is because ive looked for tutorials for 3 years and there was no really well explained ones that showed you free software , so iam doing this to help others that are interested in the same thing.
FIrstly if you know anything about super computers they don't play games at super speeds , they simply run code that i is programmed to run on parred cpus , crysis was not programmed for that.
@ghostmarine1000 Using linux, make a Port of wine that is capable of using networked CPUs and install what ever is needed to make the game run and install the game! a cheap way of getting games to work even on the best supercomputers! Oh, no monitor? Network X11! =)
@htfkid2000 i whas thinking about this for a long time, even using making virtual box and installing win on top of the cluster. but the fact is i suck at programing. did you try anything like this? :D

Short answer: You cant make a proper cluster with windows xp.
Just forget it, or write your own software to do it, thats the only way.
A cluster can move a program to a less used node, to distribute jobs efficiently,
and xp has no way, or addon to do that.
A cluster also shares data globally, so all nodes have access to the same data,
again, xp has no way to do that. (except for files, but that is not what I mean here)
Windows HPC edition can do it, but not XP.
Sorry
