i love love love the poem he recites in the graveyard only im having trouble with one part of it "do they watch the miniature -dinesters?- of beetles and follow before their gaze" what is the word he is using, i dont recognize it and ive tried 1,000 different spellings, phonetically it sounds like din-esters, maybe its dynnesters, i must be hearing him wrong, can somebody help me?
if children are taught everything is bright and rosy, when they grow up and realize there is real evil and real horror in the world, when they have to face it,it will be unexpected and traumatising to them.
For me answer is clear and obvious. Stan Lee created hundreds of characters, yes, but many of them are bland and their personalities as well as their motives are interchangeable.
Alan Moore has manifested several independent stories with compelling characters, profound and perplexing plot lines, and awe-inspiring and astounding atmospheres of aestheticism that engage teh mind on numerous levels.
Credit Lee for Spider-man and Xmen but Alan is obviously superior in content of all criteria.
@jacobob321 eh, I don't know but thats a bit much to say Moore is SUPERIOR to Lee. I think they are just different. Stan Lee also pushed the envelope for story telling as well. For example, Marvel hated the idea of Spider-Man, and it took Stan Lee's persistance to have it made. Stan Lee also worked on many stories that were deeper than surface level, like Moore has. I think think of both of them as paradigm changers in the media of Comic Books, and both should be respected as such.
He's so right how he handles his children (I've two myself) but it is key to strike a balance. You simple can't be 100% negative or warning all the time; it will twist them as much as filling them with false security. Balance.
Everyone who speaks his/her mind off is mad to standard society. I believe we should be able to show ourselves as intense as we feel. I assume you don't have the guts to show yourself as you are at this moment of your life. Almost all of us carry a mask in public.
I think he Moore is a very brave person for showing himself as true as possible. Of course he has a big ego but he's a walking comic's god so...
I don't know the ego. I know in a previous video he talks of seeing himself as a Messiah (as we all do) but self-certainty and awareness of ones importance shouldn't be mistaken with ego. Isn't funny when someone acknowlegdes their talented yet it appears as a lack of humblness to others and they think "what a fucking egotistical bastard". You're right about everyone should speak their mind.
I dont see any sign of him being mad, maybe abit excentric, if you'd actually listen to what he's saying maybe you'd understand some of the things he's talking about.
I understand what he's saying completely, and I admit he's genius, but I just think his eccentricities can be called just that. He's not serial killer crazy, just kind screw loose whacky. Like a Dr. Seuss character.
And I think he'd admit to such, as he sort of does while interviewing himself and talking about evil ducks.
Notice when he is giving his subversive speech, a little after 4:51, he clenches his fist unconsciously . I think that speaks volumes of the man's passion.
I would really like to read more of his books, particularly the ones that are little seen here in the U.S., like those of "D.R. and Quinch" or whover they were. This man is inspiring me to read more, not just comis, but literature as well.
at 8 mins and something did he really just say "We're surrounded by a web of information."? It says this was made in 1987,

I wouldn/t call him "mad," but maybe an insane effing genius.
He actually seems quite put together.
