  • Anyone notice those Xs in the background that light up and the ones one the very right don't light up except once at the beginning of the song? Technical SNAFU?

  • The first smiths song i ever heard still in love with it!!!

  • The way he puts his hand on his hip, and the angle of his arm, defies physics. This version, they are obviously lip singing. Remember that past time?

  • 10p

  • what a bliss

  • I dont have a religion, i have the smiths.

  • playback is the worst thing in the world.

  • What can be said about The Smiths that hasn't alreeady been said. I ABSOLUTELY love them; truly! Brings back sooo many lovely memories growing up in So Cal in the 80's. I've loved Moz since I first heard his voice!

  • One of the most joyful songs i think i have ever heard. How could people say The Smiths were depressing, with stuff like this ? Happy Happy Happy

  • Amo, Amo e Amo muito essa musica!!!!

Eu me lembro d uma velha amiga, que não está mais entre nois!!!!

Ela tinha 17 anos quando morreu....

Agente ficava na pracinha, perto de nossa casa cantando...

  • I love this song so much. I think he almost meant it to be out of synch.

  • they didn't believe me either after all that time. why pamper life atrocities when the leather run smooth on the passenger seat.

  • top of the pops ,,me arse ,, why not let them sing ,,,morrisey with a bad flu singing is better then miming....

  • Great, timeless song.

  • I have to hear it 100 times a day, or I get withdrawal symptoms

  • judgeing by his voice and his complection there is only one explanation he is literly an angel

  • fn adverts! i had 1 yesterday that was 6 minutes long arrgh

  • Dance, Morrissey. Dance! *-*

  • Poetry. I mean, we're all hooked up thanks to Morr's moves and Marr's beautiful style of playing, and in synthesis the attitude of this amazing band, but the lyrics are the best thing. It's more of a beatiful poem.

  • No one can move like this man. Regardless of the petty comments people want to make about his sexuality, who gives a shit? This is an extremely talented man, and I would happily follow him to the sexual netherworlds, if it would help me be a better, more creative, songwriting artist.

  • love the ♪♫♫♪, love the voice, looove the drama and definitely ♥♥♥ the haircut :-)

  • he has one of them chins u want to punch.

  • Ah yes, an ad for a useless gadget beforehand. How well it goes with this song.

  • @eloisealice qui est Glaieuls?

  • @Floodlezoot Thi is flowers...Morrissey was loving it...

  • morrissey grande

  • This is one of my favorite Smiths songs. What a heavenly voice. I become weepy and yet elated, I just love it so. Oh the angst of love. I don't care what I sound like, I must sing along.

  • 25 anos de rock alternativo

    parabéns the smiths

  • Brings back great college memories... circa 87-88, depressingly awesome!

  • I admit that sometimes I kinda miss the world without internet, you know waiting to see your favourite videos on TV, buying albums and magazines about your favorite bands and that stuff.

  • @loombaron i wish i was alive in that era! or without cell phones and so much fake mainstream (not that there wasn't in the 80's..but not as much) though, i'm extremely thankful for the internet.. being only a teenager, yet being able to listen or find out any music i like!

  • @DarkDimon09 "Depressingly awesome!" Love that coment

  • love love the smiths!! probably the best group of the world

  • im a married man with 2 young kids and by no means gay.but this guy oozes sex appeal

  • His voice is......like a combination of magic velvet and sex. Wrapped in honey.

  • @peterpanmannnn hahhahha classic

  • @peterpanmannnn This is the best comment of any vid I've ever seen here. :D

  • @peterpanmannnn put it all in a snackwell and you have a lovely non fat, disease-free,vegan, deaf-in-one-ear boy with a thorn in his side-conundrum? oops..bigmouth strikes again!

  • @peterpanmannnn You dick

  • That performance and song was only ...EPIC!!

  • I love the entire song but 2:10-end is fucking great. No one can sing this

  • I love how tortured all of Morrisey's lyrics are they aren't interpretations i feel like he's gone trough everything he sings about

  • This Glorious song has nothing to do with sexual preference to assume so is to greatly err

  • The gayness made this song. Your average straight guy couldnt shed the shackles of "manliness" that society has opposed on them, in order to exhibit the depth of emotion on display in both the song and performance. Proper flamboyant gay shit... fucking love this shit.

  • I think, I THINK! this is how they used to dance in the 80s

  • gay, straight, asexual, who cares? All I know is that I love the Smiths and Morrissey, despite his brilliance, is an utter dick.

  • WORSHIP THIS SONG

  • Love the Smiths? Then I´m sure you will just adore the new album from danish singer Michael Møller : A Month of Unrequite Love. Try search for :

Michael Møller Where the Wind Blows

    It´s just wonderfull!

  • i dont understand why people have to affirm their heterosexuality whenever they say they like the smiths. gay people and straight people have the same emotions.

  • said it before, beatles+queen=smiths

  • @shawndaven no way dude :P

  • Eu adooooooooooro essa música!!!!!!!!!

  • There must be a heaven. Where else could such aural beauty come from? Morrissey, if it's not too much to ask, please live forever.

  • Morrissey is a living legend !!! I'd like to add "I'm so sorry, Big mouth strikes again, Panic, Some girls are bigger than others, .... " and the list continues...

I don't know about you guys, but I've been listening Smiths/Bolshoi/Clash/etc. for more than 20 years.... And I can assure you that I'm not tired of it ! :)

  • The music sounds so diifferent from what the lyrics would imply to you. For example, you could expect the saying of will you believe me to be whispered. The song seems like it would be more montone and downbeat. Just my personal opinion.,

  • He's not gay :L he said himself that he's never been a sexual person at all

  • He hoped this perpetual debate about his sexuality would arbitrate itself in its ever-apparent absurdity; that it has for the wise few.

Point being, The Smiths and all art well-put exists outsides the imposing and dispassionate constructs of 'sexuality'... and so should you.

  • He could of made it a little less obvious he was miming :L.... he hasn't even got a microphone. But still, atleast he can actually sing live. Some "artists" today hardly sing live while recording with all the effects they use, let alone on stage X D

  • love this song !

deffo should listen to Spiders - where does this leave us now

  • i love The Smiths, carefree amazing music

  • best band ever. Try Spiders - Where Does This Leave Us Now

  • And if they don't believe us now

Will they ever believe us ?

  • wow was he gay

  • @spassy13 -

actually Morrissey has claimed he is asexual, and by earliest new wave/pre-emo standards that is standard belief about our sexuality.

  • @spassy13 Apparently he's asexual.

  • I love the Smiths! and truly detest this most obvious and shallow discussion on their sexuality... Couldnt we talk instead about their unpredictable popularity, influence and artistic success, their suburban roots, etc etc......

  • I have to hear this song a minimum of 6 times a day

  • @Inca127z I know, i have just listened to it four times in a row here! One of the best songs ever written.

  • @Inca127z are you Morrissey? heh

  • @Inca127z minimum! haha yess! same here

  • @Inca127z -

ahh, doctor's orders I can live with!!;)

  • @Inca127z hahahaahahah only 6?

  • I like that Morrissey is one of the strangest dancers, but he makes it awesome

  • I love his voice, there's nothing I can do by that

  • great song, one of the best bands ever. although, i have to say that after watching this video, there's really nothing "ambiguous" about Mozer's sexuality. lol

  • Morrisey is a modern day genius

  • The Queen Is Dead, one of the greatest albums of all-time!

  • @silvialucianunes ~ Thank you our Sweet Sylvia for this wonderful Share...

Wishing you a Beautiful Sunday & a Wonderful New Week ahead dear friend...

  • Two word s LSD

  • morrissey made a new way to sing... and hes influence was so great that he was the main idol from the singer of the best rock band from Brazil ever, called Legião Urbana - urban legion in english-... and the singer is Renato Russo.

    The smiths rules.

  • can everybody shut up about his sexuality & listen to this amazing song -__-

  • If you think Morrissey is somehow less of a man for performing songs like this you still have much to learn about bravery and expression.

  • @Clembo Why? It's great song. Remember, Johnny Marr wrote the music.

  • Morrissey is a spunk!!!! :)

  • 62 people have a thorn in there side

  • @xGoD4CoD4x That's to be expected - Morrissey and his ways aren't going to make him any fans with the close-minded.

  • @melomane2010 I was taking the piss, you pretentious cunt. wanna be morrissey. free jobs worth cunt.

  • @xGoD4CoD4x Nope not a wannabe nor a neverwas - but you ought to put down the bottle and at least try to make some sense - oh and above all enjoy this wonderful song.

  • @melomane2010 it makes sence, you love morrissey like every other morrissey fan. you're not different. don't talk about my alcoholic addictions when morrissey has them too, you mug.

  • @melomane2010 i'm not close minded, i'm just as free as you.

  • The Smiths, more than any other UK band (not including the Irish U2) single-handedly saved the 80's from putrid irrelevance. The best lyrics ever written married to the best rhythm guitarist ever. They really saved the world, thank your gods for them because rock could have died a perverse and pathetic death at the hand of most of the 80's bands (Whitesnake, for a particularly vile example).

  • @melomane2010 lets not forget The Cure & New Order now...

  • @xquickstrykex I know you can make an argument for both of those bands, but I think that the Smiths trumps them in pure musicality - the breadth and scope and pure inventiveness - their controversial nature, the awesomeness of an inspired Morrissey - the best front-man any group has had since Freddie Mercury (RIP) - coupled with Johnny Marr's absolutely astounding musical gifts as a writer and rhythm guitar player - only the Glimmer Twins exceed what the Smiths offered.

  • @melomane2010 That's one of the smartest things I've read in a long time. I hope to God you are a writer.

  • @zaqwheat If you mean a songwriter, yes I am :)

  • @melomane2010 Add Poison please.

  • @raponte1955 Ouch, yeah that's even worse - but I was sort of focusing on UK-based bands. Just for the record, the bands that saved the 80's were, in no special order, U2, the Smiths, REM and the Pixies, although U2 has a special place for me - their music probably saved my life.

All in my opinion, of course.

  • what does he have written on his neck?

  • morrissey's so beautiful, he'll make you gay for at least 3 minutes.

  • @ManofSteel1898 Only 3 minutes? Morrissey was so visionary and so misunderstood - and a complete enigma. But on the other hand, I knew he was just like me - sort of a geek and a misfit, passionate about love and desire, well-read and literate, and not afraid to speak his mind.

  • @melomane2010 LOL

  • such a purely beautiful song. How magical to rediscover it.

  • everyday I just hang back from everyone. i'd tell her that I love her... but they'd never believe me.

  • parece bujarra

  • Classic!

  • brilliant

  • Just by listening to this song makes my day more beautiful..

  • QUÉ GRANDES LOS"SMITHS"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I listen to the smiths everyday day of my life since 25 years. I didn't miss a single day

  • fuck this advertisements !!

  • As much as I hate these, I have to say, 59 people didn't believe him. =P

  • this is just....perfect..

  • i forgot that miming was how it was done on totp

  • This was the real pop back then and not the shit now we have

  • My goodness, this is brilliant.

I love them to bloody bits <3

  • my god aueneye u r special an so rite

  • he si tatoo is so sick.

  • england, supplying the world with music since 62

  • @angusstan Agreed!... Vanity Fare-Hitchen a ride ...

  • @angusstan Truer words have never been spoken. You have awful teeth, but your reflection of the American art form of rock'n'roll is truly above and beyond what we, the inventors, could ever have aspired to.

  • @angusstan its our main export

  • @angusstan we do brighten up our sad grey dreary little island with the best sounds on the planet. Shit weather. shit food.......... I Challenge anyone to beat our music tho.....The Smiths. The Beatles. The Rolling Stones. The Who. Led Zeppelin. ACDC. Black sabbath. The cure. The Stone Roses. Joy Division. The list goes on...............

  • @angusstan I totally agree with you.

  • @angusstan Yes ... especially since we don't make anythink else ... oh and islamic terrorist don't count

  • Rock Management USA.

Representing the best of cutting edge music worldwide.

  • Morrisey is the SHIT. I'm already growing my hair out like his. lol

  • @mustang377 men could walk down the streets with his hairstyle in the 80's cause it was fashionable then. today you'd get funny looks. but to each his own.

  • @itsmister2u I've had a Mozza quiff for years! I'd never change it because of the funny looks
