what an amazing song .... i remember hearing this back in "93" and flipping over it . nobody even comes close to writing anthems like this , and never will . any artist would give their first born to have just one tune like this on an album ... and when ya consider that this is just one of a myriad of songs by paul that are just as good , it's mind blowing . many of his albums during this time always ended with a song like this ... an epic , anthem like , symphonic , and beautiful masterpiece.

@burbonboy he's eclectic , that's how...always trying something different , sort of like billy joel was . i agree , however , that " icon " isn't half the song " cmon people " is , but they are really 2 vastly different songs . " icon 's " is a rocker , and it's melody isn't anywhere even close as good as " people's " . " cmon people " grabs u from the first chord and never let's u go . the melody is orgasmic . it's a long song too , but it flies by it's so good ...and the score is breathtaking.

@yourtwistedable it IS unbelievably underrated and forgotten . you couldn't be more right . he has so many iconic songs and albums that some fantastic ones get lost in the shuffle. what a problem to have , huh. there's nothing like paul when he goes " anthem " though , and this song proves it . it's so funny because all the other newer artists have to just sit back in amazement and wish they could put out just ONE song like this , but nobody ever thinks to put notes and chords like this .

@tattva9932 i love watching kids these days and their faces light up with amazement when they first hear a beatles or paul song . it's so awesome to see . they're so used to hearing such bland melodies ( if there's one at all ) , rap , dance , and heavy metal music and they don't realize what they're missing . then at some point something like this comes on , and their hooked , that's it . i remember it was the same way for me in high school ...this song is such an awesome track .
