Saying you hate Pantera is like saying you hate the blues. If there were no Blues there would be no Rock 'n' Roll. If there were no Rock 'n' Roll there would be no Heavy Metal. If there were no Heavy Metal there would be no Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Speed Metal, Metal Core, etc. Get over yourselves and broaden your horizons. It's very disheartening to see how close minded most Metal fans are.

I don't understand how dimebag became such a huge topic on a shadows fall video. But let me get this straight. You hate hime because he's from Texas. You hate him because he's not agressive enough. You hate him because he was part of the 80's metal scene. Nearly every band listed by people who hate Pantera wouldn't even have a platform for their music if not for Pantera.

@kalmahman48 Dime kept metal fresh in the 90's. Pantera really led the charge towards more modern metal, whereas the "essentials" you listed are all 80's thrash vets. Nothing against thrash, but that gets old. The only seriously vital ones are James and Dave. Kerry King is terrible, and Hammett is mediocre. Dime pretty much invented groove metal, spawning Machine Head, Chimaira, Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb of God, and Devildriver. Know your metal before you spew off, asshole.

@FireScythe1992 ok i agree both kerry and kirk kind of suck balls, this still doesnt change my opinion about dime bag. and you should know that its all about personal preference, and the only band you cited that i actually like is ffdp and they are about as far away from pantera as possible. i still dont give two shits that dimebag got shot on stage because(this is gonna get some thumbs down) i fucking hate redneck, slacked jawed retards who cant point to their own state on an unmarked us map!!!

@kalmahman48 Actually FFDP and Pantera are quite similar, though FFDP is way more juvenile, like you. Your opinion doesn't matter when it comes to his contributions. I hate ACDC yet obviously I know they're a huge part of rock. I don't care what your opinion is of Dime, but it's pretty dick to go on here and insult him and belittle his death. If you can honestly say that Dimebag Darrell contributed nothing to metal, then stop listening to it, because you obviously know nothing about it. :)

@FireScythe1992 holy shit man. your good(no joke), i never said he didnt contribute, i just said i hate him. and ffdp is more angry, thats why i listen to it, its music that can either piss you off or calm you down in the same way. i personally dont like pantera for their extremely high treble eq and for the fact that dime bag actually only made 3 sigs and dean just over used it.

Personally bashing someone that was shot on stage? Not cool. You can dislike him if you want, but he deserves respect at the very least. I don't like Kurt Cobain or his music. Am I happy he died? Hell no. He was a person like all of us and deserves respect.
