@DUBMANS Yeah like racerboy23432 said they probably placed coins, usually pennies on the ground and the train will flatten them.......I did it when i was a child, only problems is sometimes they stick to the wheel and you don't find them lol
i work in the UP yard where this train stopped in sioux city as a yard driver for the rail crews it was an awesome sight o see thanks for posting this. peace, paul
i went back the next day and got some souvineers. and drove the opearation lifesaver locomotive simulator for about an hour. they guy who was running it said see you in a few years as an engineer cause i was just that good. the only thing i kept forgetting was the bell at crossings. i throttled down before he even said to and kept my eyes out front ahead of the train. i even blew the horn approaching a coal drag that was uncoupling at a crossing to warn the crew.
that was a prety awesome day. chased the train from the caseys gas station in merril iowa where the bnsf tracks cross the highway and wouldnt you know it as soon as the challenger passed a long bnsf freight blocked the way so i had to wait. i was on the news later that night as well on i think it was ktiv. i was the guy holding the camera in the red shirt and tan and black jacket. i was wondering why they were pointing a camera at me for no reason.
Nice view of the articulation at 0:36.

The way UP positions the number boards over the classification lamps makes their steamers, especially 3985, look angry.
