I do music videos using the Source SDK, Faceposer and GMOD... I can tell you that unless you're willing to put in many hours, it's not worth trying!

A single vocalist song can take as long as 8 hours to sync. Dual vocalists or more can take exponentially longer! Also it helps if you have Windows XP as Vista does not like the "re-extraction" process.

Example would be that my current music video project took 18 hours just to lip sync. It's a tough song but the sync is done! Now to do the vid!

I just recently did a lip sync video of Alyx Vance' voice actress Merle Dandridge singing as Alyx Vance! It was all one track lipsynced without breaking it up. Gives smooth results :)

Using the HL2 SDK you can use voice recordings automatically sync with the animation .. takes a bit of tweaking from what I hear.

Faceposer and Hammer both come with the Source Software Development Kit that Valve lets you download from Steam for free when you purchase Half Life 2. Also, I'm working on a few other similar projects which I will be posting soon and am almost done with the First Beta for this project which *should* be posted up on youtube by this weekend.
