Put this on XP and get the XP patch for it and it will be much smoother. Vista makes games alot slower. (All games only working on vista can be made to work on XP with a patch. Takes a bit longer to get working but has better gameplay.)

Vista plays games alot slower because of all the useles junk/processes running in the background. But if you disable them all, you will be able to run the games just as fast as in the XP version.

well first of all XP cant even run DX 10 and second DONT USE DX 10 IN THIS GAME UNLESS YOU WANT THE 4XAA. its just the same detail lvl as DX9 is and dont try using ntune's override for game applications to enhance the AA quality or AF. it doesnt work...

they are getting closer to extreme hyper-realism, crysis and call of duty 4 are great examples of this, the next step up would be a virtual game with the same graphics as crysis or CoD 4, then they will be realistic and beautiful, but games will always keep looking better.

Exactly. Unlike Manhunter13's half-assed response, you dont just need a Video Card with 4.0 "shayders"...or SHADERS as its actually spelt, but you also need Vista, XP doesnt support DX10 (any DX10-ready card will still work in XP (8800 cards, etc) but they will only run on DX9)

Windows XP and DX10 arnt capatible, it has to do with XPs coding, they would need to re-write like half the OS to make DX10 fully work in it, and that would be useless. So no, technically they cant make a "DX10 patch" for XP. Vista only. Not only that, DX10 is Vistas selling point, they wont get rid of that.

You idiot. FRAPS slows down your frame rate to whatever it's recording at. He may get 500 fps in a game, but if he kicks on FRAPS it will slow it down to 30 to record.

You can't compare television and video games directly in fps,(rendered differently and displayed differently.) There have been tests that show air force pilots could distinguish a plane silhouette shown only for 1/220th of a second, but the human eye doesn't see in FPS to begin with, it sees in constant fluid motion; so labeling human vision in FPS is absurd, but saying we can't distinguish more than 30 fps is even more so.

yeah, the reason the images on TV and movies looks very smooth, is because the motion blur.

What motion blur does is give the impression of more intervening frames between the two actual frames. If you stop a movie during a high action scene with lots of movement, the scene that you will see will have a lot of blur, and any person or thing will be almost unrecognizable

When it is played at full 24 fps, things again look good and sharp. on games, thats not the case
