my dad helped build this ride..the things that make you go fast in the begginning are magnets and they use north and south poles to slow down or go fast. in th begginning u usually are going around 35 mph. un fortunately my dad passed away or i would tell you more :/

Maverick Lifts with magnets, it's also a launch? How does this work? Those magnets are performing the action of moving the train an upwards of 105 feet. To move up, is to lift. Maverick does not accelerate up that hill. Anything that moves with thrust could be considered a launch, but if it's LIFTING, it's a lift.

@youmakemelaugh99 Alright, I'll clear this up. You're wrong. The LSM's propelling the train up the first incline out of the station are considered a lift. The mechanism that moves the train does not define whether it's a lift or launch, but the action if performs. The lift on Maverick moves the train at a constant speed of 25mph or so; it does not accelerate in speed throughout the track segment, as a launch would. Even though it moves faster than most other lifts, it does not make it a launch.

@megacoasterfan The safety bars are called OTS restraints (over-the-shoulder). And, the reason why this ride has those restraints is because it goes upside down, and most rides have the OTS restraints. If it were just drops, it would only consist of a lap bar.

@a10pilot13 Well, when we went there and stayed at Castaway Bay indoor water perk hotel. I remember that the tickets (if you have a family of 6) had cost up to $1,200 or more. The entire price for the hotel was way up around $3,000 or something. So, make sure that you don't bring more then 4 people.
