While I personally care little for the modern piano on the whole: I think you are all rather wrong. Baroque music wasn't meant to be played just any way that one wished. All of the great composers had a sense of 'proper' playing and described it well. However, being that the modern piano is such a different instrument from anything available to Bach, I think it is reasonable to make modern interpretations for a modern instrument so as to adapt it--not everyone has a harpsichord.
hey! you have very nice hands! but you are doing them pretty fingers damage by applying too much pressure...in fact i can see you have the collapsed index finger situation going on. You have to simply not push so hard with the finger...sort of let the finger fall into the key.
Very good, the only very slight criticism I have is that at times the tempo varied a bit, but I know that it's hard with this piece having played it myself. Well done. :D
Baroque composers made very few notations in their music other than the notes themselves so you can't say that we should just play it as written. We have to add in articulations and dynamics so why not add in a little rubato if it sounds good. We can only guess on what the performance practices of the time were and even if we knew perfectly that doesn't mean we have to follow them exactly. The piano didn't exist in the Baroque does that mean we should never play baroque music on the piano.
The word rubato wasn't even used. So your assumption that rubato 'sounds good' is your editorial which contradicts historical editorial tradition and style.
congratulations

don't make it all the same. there are parts the right hand have to be soft and left hand have to soft. there are wrong notes as well...

I realize that. My camera equalizes the sound, so unless I exaggerate my playing or get a better camera, you probably won't notice a difference.

Rubato? With Bach! Please!
thethikboy 5 years ago
What's wrong with rubato in Bach. It sounds really nice.

Nice? Rubato is not baroque style. It sounds much better as written.
