Freddie Mercury.Brian May..Roget Taylor.John Deacon..you lived up to your name...Queen. Freddie chose this name in part cause it was regal..powerful..something absolute..this is Queen.4 men each a musical genius..masters of their craft. I consider myself fortunate.to have seen them live 3 times..they were amazing.from the first cord...to the first note of Freddie's...clear. perfect voice..you were taken on a musical journey.Their music will live on..Freddie.was a gem may he RIP
An Evening With Queen 1974-1976 2DVD set, Queen Live at Earl's Court 1977 DVD available at Tommygun Video, please see our Youtube channel for video clips, link to site, and more info
Never rule out the importance of John Deacon and his booming bass!
btw i remember on Live Killers the '79 live album Freddie Mercury would lead the crowd into repeating the words and see if they can keep up with him. Awesome! He said at the end... like, "Damn you *****ers can sing louder than me!" Its on the Live killers Album.
I saw them in the 70's..they were awesome, and a hell of a light show....Thin Lizzy opened for them, here in Louisville, Ky. And it was general seating, so me and my friend got all the way to the stage, I was so close to Freddie that I saw his fingernails, which were painted black...and his fingers on the piano...aww man what a night it was!!! Queen Rocks!!!!!!!!!
Crud!! I have always held it against my HS buddies that they didn't want to see that concert tour in Detroit. Thin Lizzy and Queen are my two fave bands of the era.... And Phil Lynott and Lizzy rocked better than most then. I am so sad and sorry I never got to see these two legends in the same night.
fucking amazing! such a rock and roll feeling to this song. im a guitarist and the chord progressions and riffing in this are simply perfect. id put brian may up there with eddie van halen as the BEST guitarist ever! so original and defining. and freddie was simply put the greatest entertainer the world has ever seen, next to David lee roth! go go golittle queenie!
Once I heard this song I felt this was the most underestimated song for Queen. This is the ultimate guitar song for anyone who is serious about playing. Queen had the fire back then and should never be forgotten for there many efforts.
What does AIDS have anything to do with Queen's greatness as a band? This comment proves what I have suspected for awhile. There are certain people who love Freddie and hail him as some kind of hero because they think he was gay. If he wasn't gay, these same people would probably hate him.
I can't think of another band that was that good live. Freddie Mercury was absolutely the best front man EVER, and the whole band was just ON FIRE. If I could put that energy in a bottle and drink it, I could stay up for days at a time. The best the best the best
