I think M-1 did a great job of engineering Fedor's career and protecting him. He really fell apart recently against mid-range heavyweight competition in Werdum and Bigfoot Silva. The loss to Henderson really showed where Fedor is at now.

Lindland and Hong Man Choi come to mind. After Pride folded, it took a while for Fedor to take on any legit guys. I'd say Arlovski was his first legit fight after Pride folded and Arlovski was giving Fedor trouble. I am not saying Fedor was a fraud, I am saying M-1 did a great job of engineering Fedor's career to keep him making money without having to fight the very best guys. They deserve credit for keeping him marketable for so long.

I was told that this song was made by Dream Stage Entertainment (The company who owned PRIDE) specifically for Fedor for his US debut. This is the only time this song was ever used and since DSE was sold to ZUFFA I would imagine Dana White killed it along with the rest of PRIDE. Sad really, the best days of MMA were from 200-2007 in PRIDE. The UFC has shown they won't duplictate the quality of the fight cards so we can only hope Strikeforce takes over and continues to put out great fight cards

its interesting, on the PRIDE videos you see so many positive comments from like minded people, on UFC videos you see so much arguing and insulting.

obviously i'm making a huge stereotype, but i think there's some truth to it.

PRIDE always seemed to have a more 'mma educated' fan base. Many UFC fans dont understand the ground game or overhooks vs underhooks in greco roman wrestling

Probably because many newer MMA have no idea Pride, or any other organisation even exist, as Dana would like them to believe.

Hopefully Strikeforce will survive long enough to become a legitimate threat to the UFC monopoly.

The fans you speak of are also probably the same ones that refer to the UFC as a sport in itself. i.e 'so do you train UFC?'. Personal pet-peeve of mine lol. I agree with your comments though, on a generalised basis of course.
