hmmm...not sure that i am Digging this version...never heard a female sing it...I guess pretty good...From an actor singer perspective..not bad...but lacking in intensity...and clarity ...of the changing of the voices and identities...not enough Aynkst.
@MrMattystar123 I'm actually getting fond of this version again, so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. ^_^ I deliberately kept the voices sounding as similar as possible, because I wanted to emphasize that Jekyll and Hyde are not separate people at all. :D Thanks for the input!
Hello, just wanna say that Jekyll and Hyde was what sparked my interest in Music Theatre (when I was 9) and this cover was VERY VERY AMAZING! Your voice sounded great on it, I could hear all of your vocal expression and I suppose all I can say is that I was truly blown away by this cover!
@devinddominguez Oh my, thank you so much! O.O I've been kicking myself about this cover recently because I keep finding details I don't like or things I think I could have done differently, and you just made me feel so much better. ^_^
I can no longer function. That was one of the greatest covers I have ever heard. Your voice is so beautiful! I got chills while listening to this, and I legit stopped breathing at several parts. Stopped. Breathing. Very well done! :D
Once again -- I really can't even comprehend how amazing this is. Vocally, it is spectacular. Your voice is incredible...*____* Not many girls can sing like this (or anywhere near close to this), but more importantly (and I think I said something similar in the last video) - your emotion is completely breath taking. I'm really speechless. You know that feeling you get after you've listened to something like...super, super incredibly amazing? Yeah, I've got that. Adding to my favourites. <3
@EdhelHareth THANK YOU! <3<3<3 That is such an enormous compliment coming from you! *_* I've had issues about my voice for a long time because I've always felt that it sounded too deep or just "wrong" for whatever role I was trying to sing (and I just found out that I'm actually a contralto... O.O) and to hear you say that just means the world to me right now. ;--;
Again, another amazing job with this song! I love how in that first transition from Jekyll to Hyde, it almost sounds like Jekyll gets choked as Hyde comes out, it's so eerie lol. The whole thing was chilling, your emotion was spot on and awesome, and you did a great job with portraying the two different voices :) and that last Hyde whisper? Man that's creepy! :D Amazing work!
@IndigoFireFandubs Thank you so much again, Amy! <3 The choke thing actually started out as a complete accident-- when I was first learning this song I was also getting sick at the same time, and it originally sounded like "till the day that IIIIHRKCOUGHGAG". Then I just toned it down and kept it because it fit pretty well. XD I'm so glad you like the finale! Most people tend to snarl or roar it, and I was really worried that people would think hissing it would ruin the line. :D
@laclopinette You're welcome :D and oh really? I never would've guessed it was by accident, it fit so well XD that's a pretty fortunate accident lol. I'm more impressed now :) and ah yes, well I think the hissing fits really well, it just makes it even more eerie :)
@tarastronglover Thank you so very much! <3 This is easily the most difficult thing I've ever had to perform and I wasn't at all sure whether I'd ever be able to pull it off properly-- it's pretty easy to overdo it and end up sounding and looking really silly. XD I'm so glad you like how it turned out!
By GOD!!!!!!! I'm blown away. Sadly. I've never seen this internal argument on stage or read it in a book. Still, I understand the basic concept and your performance astounded me!! AS you always do.
@1993Warbirds THANK YOU-- that means a lot! ^_^ I HIGHLY recommend this musical-- I think it's ridiculously underrated (and it actually lost a Tony to Chicago, if you can believe it! >_<) The most famous version of this song is a fantastic studio recording by Anthony Warlow, and a good idea of what it looks like live is the original stage version by Robert Cuccioli (I based my vocals off his.) You can find both on YT; the comment box isn't letting me post the links, for some reason. :(
Of course you got an A!!!! This was freaking spectacular! Emotion was spot on!!!!!!!! This is a HARD song to do anyways and you nailed it! Absolutely incredible!
@enchantedraven Oh my, THANK YOU! <3<3<3 This is the hardest song (and acting!) that I've ever had to do, and I was absolutely terrified when I performed it the first time. XD I know you love this show, and I'm just so freakin' happy you liked it! ^_^
