I was 2/3 years old in '81/'82, and I mostly watched this show in reruns; so maybe the reruns used mostly the original even for the later show; cause that's the one I remember hearing the most.

i got to watch a few episodes of Gimme a Break! today- some for the first time in decades. For a moment I was back in an amazing time. It was 1985, I was a kid, and life was great.

I miss Nell Carter so much. A consummate performer, actress, comedienne, and greatly overlooked for being what she was, one of the great voices of the 2nd half of the 20th century.

I'm glad this stuff is getting posted...thanks for the tribute.
