This song really has a lot of energy. I love it, and if you love it as well, you should probably check out front 242. The fathers of electronic body music. So good.
Great song, awful video. Considering I got my first BiGod20 record in 1988 these guys have been around long enough to meet somebody with some talent to make them a better video, I would think. It's like a bad high school project. Love dancing to this though.
Does anyone else remember getting this song for free with one of the early versions of iTunes? Back when you got a little collection of MP3s to get you started.
@DeathrockerWraith Not entirely true. In Germany there was a band named Kraftwerk that was an early pioneer of electronic music and they were a huge influence on American early techno and new wave music. Check out "Kraftwerk - The Robots" from 1977. For more fun check out this killer acoustic cover of the song by "Igor Presnyakov - The Robots ".
what the fuck?? punk and industrial?? not at all!! and industrial did not come before punk, techno did. metal and industrial go hand in hand, and industrial and techno are lesbian lovers.(industrial is the butch, techno the bitch)
@jigaboon1 I have no idea what you listen to but in terms of technical electronic ability industrial has taken a huge nose dive and some of those euopean techno artits have definitly taken the lead. That stuff sounds more like this to me than any recent industrial act.
Classic track. Moved many bodies on dancefloors around the globe. Love the extra mixes of "The Bog" on the Bigod 20 CD itself (with horror footage samples).
Well, the true meaning of this video is that you cant really write on plastic paper without a rubber pencil in the blue shoe bookcase fairy land of dreams in the toaster...
I could not have said it better myself... But seriously, who knows WTF it means? All I know is that it was great shit to dance to when I was 17 at the Blue Crystal in New Orleans...
Well, what it REALLY means is that Doogie Howser House Muzik flip flopz into the mainstream of your nightmare cuizine unless you aid the band aid chain saw wheel
Classic EBM track. Made even fatter by guest vocals by Front 242's Jean Luc DeMeyer.
This is the type of "industrial" music I like best. The electronic stuff. You can keep all the times NIN goes apeshit with a guitar, like he's throwing it down a flight of stairs.
industrial music is 'post-punk' music. basing music off of industrial society was the idea behind the music. the use of electronic instruments was anti-mainstream and non-conventional, it also perfectly represents industrial society. back in the mid 70s this was all advant garde. i guess real industrial is noise, no rythm melody and what. exposing the dark underbelly of society...
evad is correct that industrial predates punk, but I see what you might be trying to convey in at least how tight the two are to each other, that it might not be too oversimplified to say that punk is an acoustic industrial and industrial is the electro-synth punk. Regardless of which came first, they're practially two sides of the same coin.

techno was popular way b4 industrial. industrial is actually a (somewhat) more recent form of music made to be a mixture between metal and techno.
jigaboon1 3 years ago
hahahah metal? yeah right!
djphreaxshow 3 years ago
Recent? If you count the '70s recent. Throbbing Gristle was recording as early as '75. Techno wasn't around till the 80s.

Not sure how your sense of time is, but the 70s actually were pretty recent.

Industrial music predates punk since both Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle started in the early 70s
