I believe in Heaven and hell. But I have a question for you: Do you believe in soulmates, yes or no? If so, do believe that your soulmate is currently alive? I believe if i get to go to Heaven, my soulmate will probably be there. trippinesss! haha just some food for thought. Love the accent, btw :)
I'm a Deist, which means that I believe that God is a watchmaker of sorts. I don't believe in Divine Intervention, nor the resurrection of Jesus Christ or that he was anything more than a man. I honestly don't know what I believe about the afterlife and I'm perfectly fine with that. Not knowing what awaits me after death is reassuring. It encourages me to examine life for what it is and to live it with no regrets.
Btw, my family is Protestant in case anyone questioned my religious rearing.
I'm an atheist, and most of the people I know are as well... but I do have a few religious friends. I find it funny that they think I'm going to hell for my beliefs. xD
I believe that after we die, we decompose and return to the earth. It's hard for me to believe in something for which there is no proof. To me, believing in a god is like believing in flying unicorns. Sure, they could exist, but I seriously doubt it.
First thank you for actually talking about it. I believe there is a God, I believe you will get to heaven or hell, but you have the control for that built in, every man knows immediately when they do good or bad, that twinge u get when u yell at a friend. Follow your inner voice, try not to wrong others, help when you can, do no harm and you will not only have a very nice life, but if there is an after life you will join others of a like mind. God bless.
almost EVERY religion is backed up somehow. And religion is only frowned upon bcoz people have made it that way cause there on crack. no joke, alot of athiests happen to smoke. dont get me wrong theres a lot of smokers with their head on right.
Who made you? If you work it back, only a creator answers that question. Nothing comes from nothing, therefore we cannot be made of nothing. If we are nothing, then this universe does not exist, yet here am I. Maybe nothing exists save me, and I merely gained consciousness a microsecond ago... yet I do exist, how?
As for 'hell', those men who do not seek forgiveness here or at judgement are erased by purifying fire, they do not suffer for ever; according to my 'understanding'.
Have you ever considered that nothing is something? Nothing doesn't just have to be nothing it can be a way of describing emptiness and that nothing is ACTUALLY what is percieved to be God, the Universe was created when the big bang happened which was caused by: Nothing, what was there before the Big Bang: Nothing. Nothing is God. God is Emptiness. What happens in the afterlife: Nothing. God does not exist yet it is there. What happens in the afterlife: Nothing.
Illogical. Nothing can never be something, they are opposites. Were this Universe 'nothing' it would not exist.
The Creator cannot be nothing or emptiness, because without something this universe could not exist.
I suggest you watch Sagan's video on understanding dimensions to better understand this 4-D space/time. Our Creator sees all that exists to us and exists everywhere, simultaneously.
Perhaps your afterlife is your desire, so I would at least consider and then choose wisely.
That is exactly what im saying, I believe that the creator defies logic, divinity does not obey law. In my opinion the creator is just there, it IS nothingness.
Heyo. I kinda do believe exactly that, in your vid, but I also sorta believe in god, heaven, and being reborn. But -the wierdness comes in- I don't believe in Hell or the bible.I know religion is touchy, and like you, not tryin to force, but just saying what I believe. I also think (not to be casper the friendly ghost-ish) You stay behind as a ghost if you have unresolved problems. I think that kinda IS hell. So idk if anyone read this, but just postin it anyway. :)
Hey m8...just stumbled app-on your vids after watching johnofjordan's vid response to this vid. Anyhoo...just wanted to say hi to another Aussie Vlogger!!! Hope to catch you around the place!
Your video was very well done though. The way you put your beliefs out there but did not force your opinion, and the way you accept others'. That's amazing, most people seem to have a problem with the concept of acceptance.
The other day my science teacher was well... teaching and somehow we got on the topic of evelution. So I said "Prove that its real." and she said, "easily." -silence- "We have to get going on this test...."
Im not trying to be mean but... anyone who really beleives that this world was made by a "big bang" is is brainwashed and/or retarded. There is apsulutly no evidence to back it up! OMFG! WTF!?!?!!?
Im go to a catholic school and Im not as religious as some of my friends are ( even though half my year don't go to church... ever) but I beleive once we die we goto heaven and live forever :):)
Strangely, I know it isn't very common but I agree with your view, I respect a lot of religions, not including scientology and satanism and e.t.c but I think a lot of them is to help people get motivated and 'get up in the morning'. Well thats my comment done, p.s I'm thinking of starting a vlog but not sure, does anyone think thats a good idea? I worry I wont get many views or get haters. Thats an open question btw. Thanks for reading.
i cant really make up my mind of what i think happens after death.
my thought just now is probably whats you though that we will just not exsist anymore in any way.
but i like to think that if there is an afterlife that we get re-encarnated into something else ( but forget our old life)
cause i think the concept of heaven boring, cause it would just be too good and eventually you would get bored. then what? you would need to live bored for eternity?
i believe the same thing your friend does.... everything has to have a purpose for me... thats just who i am...even if that purpose is to just be random...and in such...believing in heaven and hell is a most reassuring concept...
with me, it's kind of strange. sometimes, i believe the same as you do, that we rot away after we die. but other times, i have this feeling that we will be reborn. that we will have a new consciousness, a new body and all our lives we have lived before will be forgotten. but that's just me.
what you described is exactly how ive explained my beliefs to my friends! i completely agree with you, and also find nothing wrong with religion. i just personally believe, like you do, that this is it. live it up while we're here. :)
I am an atheist and so dont believe in a God or any kind of higher being nor do i believe in an afterlife but i dont find this unsettling.
While i never understand why people hold religious beliefs, i think everyone is entitled to their own opinions and not to have people try to convince them otherwise. Personally, i admire anyone who can put their faith in something so completely without needing proof. I wish i could do the same as faith can provide people with real hope and we all need hope
Life is not a dress rehearsal; Life is what you make of it; God helps those who helps themselves. To live in a first world country is to have the best of what life can offer and to squander this is a sin, in a religious and non religious sense. Everyone should try and live with virtue and honour, and in so doing would not God see this and welcome you into the Kingdom of Heaven, no matter what you believed? If not, stop waiting for something better (aka Heaven) and make a Heaven here and now
I agree with shawna about heaven and hell existing, Jesus's sacrifice and our acceptance of His sacrifice being our only way to heaven. Furthermore, I agree with her assertion that in some point and in some way, every person recieves a chance to accept Jesus as their Savior.
part of me believes the same thing as you, but another part of me believes in re-incarnation... which is odd because i grew up Christian. I don't know why, it just seems strange to me that there are some people you meet that seem so familiar, like you've met them before.
someone once told me that we go through out lives with the same group of souls, so for example; i could have been my mom's aunt in a previous life. I thought that was pretty cool. :) but for now, I'm not sure what i believe.
I'm 'agnostic' as well. But i have a bit of a different take..I believe there is an afterlife. potentially a heaven and hell. But I don't believe in using God or Christ as just a ticket to get to heaven.
You know my beliefs Rob. But yeah, i believe in an afterlife and I guess I'm much like Shawna with that the "die and there's nothing" theory frightens me.
What i wonder about is a christian's opinion on what happens to those who haven't been able to have the good news shared to them. For example, a community living on an isolated island who have never heard of Jesus. Would they go to hell?
God is God, he has his ways to reach those people... but it is terible to think that they may not ever hear the good news... but again, God has his ways to reach these kind of people, either through dreams/appearances or people who are sent (today's appostals)
i am a christian(catholic) and i do believe in the afterlife and like shawna i am actually frightened of the possibility that we are just her once and there is nothing else.. just darkeness i find it a tad depressing no offence but im not that religious a person i never ever go to church i dno.. im quite young so my belief could chenge but for the meantime.. thats my belief and i acually nearly clicked out to my subscribtions when u said religion lol thanks -lewis!
i was brought up to believe in jesus and god- heaven and hell but now im older i personnally think wen yhur dead yhur dead and that i dont think it is possible for half the stuff to happen that the bible says happend but all this is my personnal opion as i do believe that it will surely change alot in my life time
im not to sure of an after life... however i do beleive if there is we are all going up... because if jesus died for our sins... all of our sins... then.. that is a ticket into heaven aint it... but i do beleive half of what you say this might be it so we make the best of it just incase there isent anything after... but i try not to think of it a whole lot its jsut depressing
let me see if i can make this as short as possible: one point of Judaism is that this life is a preparation for the life after and we will be judged after we die and will be rewarded and punished according to our actions
thats a very summarized version but thats what i believe
Being in cath. school all my life, my beliefs have been forced on me since i was literally only a few months old. i think now, 16 years later.. that most of it..."isint for me"
afterlife isint something i see to be true.
i agree alot with most of the things you were saying. what we have is what we get sorta thing.
good video mate.. just scary for me to accept that there's nothing after death. But anyway, i live life as every day its my last coz i DON'T know what will happen.. but i do believe in god, but i don't think you have to to get to heaven, i think you just have to be a decent person. Like, does someone who is Deaf AND blind, who isn't capable of reading or listening to god's word, then do they automatically go to hell? Kinda out there example, but you get what i mean mate?
like the outtro. but to business; for a long time i would had agreed on your outlook on it, we die and our bodies rot in the ground and that's all there is. but some things changed around for me and i became considerably more religious than i thought i'd ever be. so i think it's more of what you want out of life, and you use those ideals to will an afterlife upon yourself. who says it's not exactly what you imagine that life, or lack thereof, to be?
I've lived as a Christian, and I lived as a non-christian.. a non anything. What keeps me going is the hopes that my life is apart of something bigger. The possibility that God could use me for his will gives me hope. Whenever something goes wrong, I have a rock, somewhere to go. So I do believe that if you accept Christ you will go to heaven.
I believe in hell, but the concept that millions of other people who are truly devoted to their own religion would go to hell is very difficult for me to accept, however.
hmm, well said and yes I wonder about what 9according to relegion) happens to those who supposedly follow the incorrect relegion, even if they lead a good life.
Hullo, HSG... Whoa, this is a very sensitive and articulately expressed essay on your beliefs. I couldn't agree with you more, and saying that, I also feel that there is room in this big world for anyone who believes differently. Thank you for sharing your thoughts...
I truly deeply believe in god.I personally believe when we die we go to heaven. I don't think i could live like i do now thinking there was no heaven. Because i believe when we pass on that we get to be reunited with the ones we have lost in life. i couldn't go on thinking i would never see them again i just couldn't. But everyone has there on prospective on what happens when we die and that's just mine..
Deep subject. People have been killing each other over religion since the beginning. It would be nice if everybody could be tolerant of everybody else's beliefs. Unfortunately, history is full of religious leaders who had the One True Answer and who felt the need to force all those who disagree to accept it or die. As long as those leaders find followers, religious strife will continue.
all the people I know who have excepted god are boring and dull, so if heaven is full of those type of people I dont really want to go
ill be happy floating around in pugatory, I know we are here and keep coming back until we get it right Im in my last time here and not coming back. I going to go and teach God to play soccer I think that would be fun
Well I know alot of religious people who are certainly not dull. I feel that is an overly sterotypical view of religious people... But everyone is entitled to there opinions. And im sure if there is a god, then it would love to learn how to play soccer. =P
yea... quite a sensitive topic... but i believe people should start to understand and tolerance each other... stay postive all time... just be happy and peaceful... can't stand narrow minded un-flexable ideal people... hard to get along but i mean they might went though alotin life that transform them that way... Tough to say... have a nice day everyone...
but why are some ppl born blind for example.. he/she have no chance or less than others.. is it fair? it is and you my friend have to search for the answer to how is this fair.
i belive there is an after life, and if you have accepted God into your life you will go to heaven. but i'm not the one to try and make someone belive in the same thing as me, its cool if they do, but you can belive what you want to and i'll still see you no other way than what you are now.
i think you're probably right, rob. i doubt there's an afterlife. but the universe is vast and complex beyond our understanding, so i can't be sure what happens after death. i respect every person's *right* to believe what they want. i don't feel obliged to agree with the beliefs of others, but am not usually rude or dismissive about them, *unless* someone tries to force them on me, and/or use their beliefs as a basis for denying me my full rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
First off, I'd like to say, your haircut looks awesome.
Now I'd like to say that I'm Catholic and I go to mass every Sunday and I do believe in an after life. Heaven, Hell and Purgatory. I believe that if one goes to Purgatory they will always eventually go to Heaven. Purgatory is where one is forgiven for his sins before he goes to Heaven.
But anyway, I don't try to push my religion on anyone, and the way you presented your thoughts made me think. =D Thinking FTW!
i belive there is somthing but i dont belive in the christian God ....i cant see an all loving all mighty god rejecting his "childern" just cuse he/shes gay for example. I do belive we have one life that needs to be lived and made the best off. What happeneds after that???? you become food for worms
I think you will be surprised how many people feel the same way you do. Heaven and Hell are just rewards or punishments to try and keep the masses in line. We have one life to lead and when it ends so do we.
Hey Rob. I like the way you presented all this. I myself am not sure exactly what happens. I'm a Christian, but I'm not particularly religious, if you know what I mean. I agree with 19lfm12 about the anti-religious attitude. I'm fine with people believing whatever, but as long as they don't try to push their beliefs onto others. Good video. Hah and someone got a haircut.
I don't believe in a god or an afterlife, and I feel the same way about it as you do. I just wish that I had come to that belief (or lack thereof) earlier. If I had been an atheist when I was your age (I'm about 11 years older than you), I think I might have been happier.
I happen to be Christian & believe in an afterlife. But I liked the way you expressed your belief, and the courtesy towards other ppls beliefs. That tolerance seems to be lacking in both religious & non-religious ppl.
The anti-religious attidue you mentioned seems to be a reaction to zealotry of some religious ppl. Thanks:)
A quick compliment on your sensitive approach to this topic!
Observation (and NOT criticism of you/ur view): the "freeing" you note is being freed from the constraints of organized religion & enforced conformity of belief.100% understood! Now if ppl freely chose what to believe, then personal religious faith would be "personal".....and "freeing".
It is that enforced conformity which causes all the shouting between ppl:)

Well, you can believe whatever you wish.
How can a creator have no logic if there be logic to the universe? How can the divinity of creation not have law, when the universe has laws?
A creator cannot equal nothing because all that can be had from nothing is only nothing.
A vacuum is not nothing, nor is the universe or the ocean or the human mind. So that who created those things cannot be nothing.

like the outtro. but to business; for a long time i would had agreed on your outlook on it, we die and our bodies rot in the ground and that's all there is. but some things changed around for me and i became considerably more religious than i thought i'd ever be. so i think it's more of what you want out of life, and you use those ideals to will an afterlife upon yourself. who says it's not exactly what you imagine that life, or lack thereof, to be?

I believe in reincarnation. Any other answer would take more than 500 characters.

Dude, I love you, but I really feel though if you're going to identify yourself as being atheist you must learn how to spell it, okay? ;)

heaven and hell

Really Interesting video!
I've lived as a Christian, and I lived as a non-christian.. a non anything. What keeps me going is the hopes that my life is apart of something bigger. The possibility that God could use me for his will gives me hope. Whenever something goes wrong, I have a rock, somewhere to go. So I do believe that if you accept Christ you will go to heaven.
colormekristen 3 years ago
I believe in hell, but the concept that millions of other people who are truly devoted to their own religion would go to hell is very difficult for me to accept, however.
colormekristen 3 years ago
Yes, I find it difficult to accept as well.

hmm, well said and yes I wonder about what 9according to relegion) happens to those who supposedly follow the incorrect relegion, even if they lead a good life.
HalfScottishGuy 3 years ago
Hullo, HSG... Whoa, this is a very sensitive and articulately expressed essay on your beliefs. I couldn't agree with you more, and saying that, I also feel that there is room in this big world for anyone who believes differently. Thank you for sharing your thoughts...

and that you for sharing yours! =)

But everyone has there on prospective on what happens when we die and that's just mine..

it can be hard for some people to believe what I believe, but it can also be very releasing.
HalfScottishGuy 3 years ago
i have a question..
why are we even like...alive really??
why are people here?
we just..screw stuff up. i mean.. really think about it. why are we actually truly here? what is the purpose of our "being" i guess.
:/
PetexWentzxisxluv 3 years ago
Deep subject. People have been killing each other over religion since the beginning. It would be nice if everybody could be tolerant of everybody else's beliefs. Unfortunately, history is full of religious leaders who had the One True Answer and who felt the need to force all those who disagree to accept it or die. As long as those leaders find followers, religious strife will continue.

all the people I know who have excepted god are boring and dull, so if heaven is full of those type of people I dont really want to go
ill be happy floating around in pugatory, I know we are here and keep coming back until we get it right Im in my last time here and not coming back. I going to go and teach God to play soccer I think that would be fun
xspacie 3 years ago
Well I know alot of religious people who are certainly not dull. I feel that is an overly sterotypical view of religious people... But everyone is entitled to there opinions. And im sure if there is a god, then it would love to learn how to play soccer. =P

i belive there is an after life, and if you have accepted God into your life you will go to heaven. but i'm not the one to try and make someone belive in the same thing as me, its cool if they do, but you can belive what you want to and i'll still see you no other way than what you are now.
=D

i think you're probably right, rob. i doubt there's an afterlife. but the universe is vast and complex beyond our understanding, so i can't be sure what happens after death. i respect every person's *right* to believe what they want. i don't feel obliged to agree with the beliefs of others, but am not usually rude or dismissive about them, *unless* someone tries to force them on me, and/or use their beliefs as a basis for denying me my full rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
jeunesseperdue 3 years ago
That was very well said and basically exactly what I was going to say. =]
WaytoRandom 3 years ago
First off, I'd like to say, your haircut looks awesome.
Now I'd like to say that I'm Catholic and I go to mass every Sunday and I do believe in an after life. Heaven, Hell and Purgatory. I believe that if one goes to Purgatory they will always eventually go to Heaven. Purgatory is where one is forgiven for his sins before he goes to Heaven.
But anyway, I don't try to push my religion on anyone, and the way you presented your thoughts made me think. =D Thinking FTW!

haha thanks lauren and yes, thinking is definitely FTW

We just pass away. Our brain synapses stop firing, our body becomes immobile, and we decompose; just like any other living thing.
brownbaglady 3 years ago
i belive there is somthing but i dont belive in the christian God ....i cant see an all loving all mighty god rejecting his "childern" just cuse he/shes gay for example. I do belive we have one life that needs to be lived and made the best off. What happeneds after that???? you become food for worms
paulytheaussie 3 years ago
I believe the same thing... Live your life now.!
TrueBlueAustralian 3 years ago
I think you will be surprised how many people feel the same way you do. Heaven and Hell are just rewards or punishments to try and keep the masses in line. We have one life to lead and when it ends so do we.
loki4469 3 years ago

Thanks for sharing.

The beliefe that this is it can be a very freeing notion for people, but on the other hand it can be very depressing for some. thanks! =)
HalfScottishGuy 3 years ago
I happen to be Christian & believe in an afterlife. But I liked the way you expressed your belief, and the courtesy towards other ppls beliefs. That tolerance seems to be lacking in both religious & non-religious ppl.
The anti-religious attidue you mentioned seems to be a reaction to zealotry of some religious ppl. Thanks:)
19lfm12 3 years ago
yea I agree, people are very intolerant of others beliefs.
HalfScottishGuy 3 years ago
A quick compliment on your sensitive approach to this topic!
Observation (and NOT criticism of you/ur view): the "freeing" you note is being freed from the constraints of organized religion & enforced conformity of belief.100% understood! Now if ppl freely chose what to believe, then personal religious faith would be "personal".....and "freeing".
It is that enforced conformity which causes all the shouting between ppl:)
19lfm12 3 years ago
i feel the same way.

people believe in something or dont, its their choice. good vid
tuckerjames24 3 years ago
That was a great video.
I believe we are judged by our actions on earth
and that if we were good or if we were some what bad
but are truly sorry then god ( any god u believe in )
forgives u and u go to heaven or purgatory
but if u did something bad and was not truly sorry for what you have done
you must face the consequence of hell.
but that is only what I believe dont hate me for it.
objdnp93 3 years ago
No one is going to hate you for it, thats the purposes of this video, I want to know. =) thanks
