  • What, I think is really sad is that Katie had to be burned with acid ,raped and tortured to be friends with people like her and and others with birth defects when she couldn't see it before she was burned. But still a very inspiring story ^^

  • @SaphyrixKaiari what makes you so certian she didn't see it before? and if she didn't who made you the judge...every human being has to have an actualized experience before they can undertand the true pain of someone else...other wise I wonder how many children in Africa you fed today...make you homeless and I won't have to ask that question because you will be down there feeding them...no disrespect intended!

  • @lucy9359 What makes you think I'm not feeding children in Africa? And I said that because it was true. Katie Piper admitted it herself on her program..My Beautiful face..she would have never associated herself with quote ' Ugly people' and those are her words not mine..

  • @SaphyrixKaiari read the rest of my comment I said every human being has to go through the pain before they have the compassion!

  • @lucy9359 But shouldn't people have compassion anyways? Shouldn't it be instilled in us to already have it? Nothing has happened to me and I already have compassion for people who are like that who have been through pain like Katie...Don't you? Or would you have to have something terrible happen to you so would have some kind of compassion for people like you?

  • @SaphyrixKaiari ok your right you have a really good point...I apologize to you for my lack of insight! For me I am very compassionate toward the down and out because I was once down and out so I know how they feel...I there fore do reach out to the homeless or the drug adicted etc...I never came from a good home like Katie so I guess I had to develope into a compassionate human being the hard way...

  • @lucy9359 That's understandable...but see theres a difference between you and Katie..you had known no other life and Katie did had she not been burnt with the acid she would have still lived on her life the way it was..happy and 'no ugly people'

  • @SaphyrixKaiari yet I was also a model when I was in college...at any rate my husband who was brought up in a family who is wealthy and with 2 parents in the home, was never abused never had it perfect but had it good lacks compassion on most of the world as he can't relate to anyone elses dilema's in life!

  • I decided long ago fi I ever get burns to my face im just going to wear a badass greek/egyptian/halloween mask everywhere I go

  • an excuse for a freak show... this is nothing more than an actual media circus/freakshow

  • @lictor313 I have to disagree. I like shows like this because they really help the masses get an insight to how those who appear different prefer to be treated. For instance, because of this show, I will make more of an attempt to make eye contact with (and smile at) all types of people...even if I'm just passing them on the road.

My entire life, I thought disfigured people preferred not to be looked at; but that's not the case.

  • @princessamina1 do you not see the inanity of your statement? "disfigured people prefer to be looked at", you make this decision based on the opinions of 2-3 monstrously disfigured individuals comments? And why would you specifically seek to smile like a simpering idiot at every deformed person you see? and make eye contact? Isn't that insanely dishonest?

  • @lictor313 It really wasn't my intention to generalize. I was trying to show my appreciation for programs like this that give people who are often ignored a voice.

Putting myself in the shoes of a disabled/disfigured person, they must be so accustomed to people averting their eyes. It may seem ingenuous to you, but I don't see the harm in making eye contact with and smiling at strangers in passing. I really believe that simple gesture can brighten someone's entire day.

  • @princessamina1 there is because assuming something short of complete idiocy, they will know instantly that your gesture is enitrely disingenuous and meant to only make YOURSELF feel better...

stop lying, just be yourself and don't tapdance to show how "highminded" you are. Its sickening and makes you come off as a huge hypocrite

  • @lictor313 I agree, this show's the 21st century Elephant Man circus tour

  • they should have this show in america. its very touching.

  • i wish this was the intro for every show...

  • i would llove to see this program. i myself look different than other people and people say awful things to me about how i look. because i have medical problems this affect how my face grows. and it grows different than other peoople. i get scared around people a lot because of what kinds of bad things they say to me.

  • @darkmatrix

You are a very ugly person and I think you are more likely describing your personality.

I bet you're no oil painting either.

37 sados thumbed that comment up.

  • Life lessons. It's all about that, probably.

  • amazing amazing programme, Katies so charismatic and funny, love her :) Love how she's raising awareness so people understand more :)

  • When you fully grasp that your health is #1, and your appearance is merely superficial, then you fully appreciate life. Took me a while to completely get that.

  • Katie looks absoutely stunning.

  • @darkmatrix80 But thats not the point - She may well be 'superficial' but that's the person she was before she was attacked, so that is the person she will be now - she doesnt want to change who she is, she wants to be the same person she used to be, and she is. I think she's really down to earth and nice, but if thats youre opinion then there's only negativity for you, because I speak for the majority of us when I say i'm really happy for her.

  • @darkmatrix80 She's not only been though being attacked with acid, she's also a rape victim. It's hard just to recover from being raped, she's overcome all of these incidents and she's helping others believe in themselves. If you watch the programme and understand what she's about then you'll get it. There are many superficial women in this world, but NONE of them deserve to be attacked with acid or have their faces taken away from them.

  • @darkmatrix80 wtf you horrible person you ae the one that deserves to be disfigured not katie and her friends!!!

  • @darkmatrix80

Easy for you to say, twat.

  • @darkmatrix80 You seem really intelligent and deep yourself. Everyone, please pay attention to the guy hiding behind a computer screen to attack a girl who has been through hell and back. He's got life all figured out. What wisdom!! Come on now! Deep round of applause. Anyone...? Anyone...?

  • @darkmatrix80 Even though she is a stupid and superficial girl, she didn't deserve all those pains, nobody deserves to be disfigured in this way....I think that is more stupid and surely without brain the man who burnt her face than this poor girl.

  • @darkmatrix80 u suck

  • @darkmatrix80 You are a saddo who dosent know true beauty lies within, she is just trying to make people feel better about themselves, she is an amazimg woman!

  • @darkmatrix80 I really don't agree with you. She has been put through absolute hell and she is turning it around not only for her own benefit BUT to help other disfigured people through the Katie Piper Foundation. She's not fame and fortune grabbing, she wants to change the way parts of society judge skin deep and trying to make the amazing treatment she's recieved available to other victims.

That's not stupidity. That is pure strength and goodness.

  • @darkmatrix80 i would expect your comments root from jealousy? This girl was a very attractive girl-about-town who was popular until she got involved with some black ghetto trash who was dumped by her and got his mate to throw acid in her face.

Imagine someone doing that to you. I find your comments confusing, sad and nasty and that goes for the blind morons who thumbed up your inane comment

may you find sensitivity and human kindness.

  • I am really sorry, I look at people who look different from me because i am intregued. It's not because I have aby bad feeling.

  • There's no such thing as ugly, unless you are on the inside.

  • @darkmatrix80

Be quiet! Until you've gone through what Katie's been through, leave the preaching to those who actually have experience! And Katie doesn't re-inforce the discrimination- she's simply highlighting it.

  • @darkmatrix80 I think that's very unfair. The psychological effect it must have on a person to have their face literally melted away, not to mention the physical pain and years of therapy she would have had to go through, alongside the very real stigma that people with facial disfigurements DO have to face everyday means that Katie Piper is an inspiring and incredibly strong and brave woman.

  • @darkmatrix80 Wow like you know 'everything' eh? Are you a burn victim then? l guess not!

  • @darkmatrix80

did you have to work at being an asshole?

  • channel4 . well you upload this in youtube?

  • It looks a very touching series, I look forward to watching it. xx

  • heartbreaking, very well filmed. i dont treat anyone differently until they prove to be forgive my wording but assholes. everyone's the same to me. its heartbreaking that the ones in this world who are terrible people dont suffer like these folks do in my mind i think its unjust and they should trade.(if it were possible)

  • People need to realise? True beauty lies within. :)

  • @TheGregoryPartridge within a brothel yipee !
