My dad almost exactly. Him and my mother had my brother and 3 years later separated and my mother became pregnant with me by another man that ran off. Rather than spend time with only my brother and leave me at home he adopted me and paid child support to my mom after their divorce. My father was a loser, a friend of the family Jim, took me in and is the man I consider my dad, taught me more in a few years than my father did in 13. Jim has passed on I found out today, I have my own kids now and I only hope I will be at least half of what he did not have to be. Rest in peace.

hits home cuz my sons father has nothin to do with him and the ppl i dated after i had my son only wanted one thing and when they met me and saw my son the ran. i just wanted to be loved but i met my now bf in Oct of 09 the day before my son turned 6 months old and he didnt judge me or think bad of me he accepted that i had a child and he didnt make a big deal bout not being able to go out that just sittin home was fine.we have been together 2 1/2 years and nothing has changed at all..

My "Step dad" adopted me when i was 8 years old. I respect and love him for all that he has and continues to do for me and my 4 siblings. I am about to get married, and i have a son from a previous marriage. The man i am marring stepped up and has since been the only father my son has ever known. Tayolr was too young to know her real dad only 2 .But Katie 4 ,and Lizzie 7 where very close to him .I met them a year later from a friend ,and my girlfriends brother .Katie ,and Lizzie had a hard time getting close to me or anyone because they where close to their real dad .But like Taylor know they're both tomboys saying they're coach daves little girls calling me daddy .I never want to replace their real dad but that means a lot to me .

This song really hits home for me. I was 5 years old when my dad came into our lives. He became the father figure that I was missing. He taught me how draw, ride a bike, dirt bikes, play baseball, football and more. I can remember as a child holding my dad's hand looking up at him & smiling. I wanted to be just like him. My biological sperm donor left when I was born and my sister was two. My mom remarried when I was 2 and he has been my real and only Dad since. My dad almost exactly. Him and my mother had my brother and 3 years later separated and my mother became pregnant with me by another man that ran off. Rather than spend time with only my brother and leave me at home he adopted me and paid child support to my mom after their divorce. The real kicker is that my biological father is black so it's obvious that we aren't related by blood. It was hard for him to raise a son that wasn't his. No one would have thought less of him for walking away.
