I understand why she cried, and it was nice of peirce and amanda to say nice things but i agree with simon. Their first performance and fun and clean and the energy kept going.

Here they were a little too focused on their tricks, the dancing would stop as they set up for the next thing so it did seem cold. Good jives are fun and energetic. They're good dancer and im sure it was just because they were nervous but they should have chosen a more energetic song and not tried so many tricks.

NO, that is NOT what Simon said. This was NOT as good asa their audition, which had a lot more energy. Ben & Becky are used to ballroom competitions, where there are usually several dances leading to a final championship, rather tha one make-it-or-break-it dance.

FWIW, they were NOT in the top 3. Simon was right.

@mollymitch1 That's what I said, in essence. As for Becky's crying, perhaps she's not used to hearing direct criticism from judges. She was also fairly young (16).

Her body is painted with tan-shade body paint. I am no dancer but I think body paint is common practice in latin ballroom dancing. Anyway, it is sad and a pity but her crying ruined it for them. It shows that she knows that they actually weren't good enough. Great dancing, though. I could not do that.

Not as good as the audition. I agree with Simon. They did not make the finals. They were up against Stavros Flatley, Sheen & MD Showgroup.

I'll give Becky the benefit of her age--she's still a teenager (16-17). A few more years with successes & disappointments & she'll take criticism better. Same with Aidan, even younger.

To see a young person handling a "not as good as before" comment better, watch 2Grand's final. They flubbed a bit, but Sally held it together--& she was only 12-13.

The producers changed their music from the one they wanted, the Simon said he didn't like the music.

The producers told them to be more separate, and dance not as close together, then Simon said he thought it was cold.

He knows who he wants in the finals. Believe me.

I dont think Simon is so involved with what the producers do. I think hes removed from it so he is just a judge. However i agree that what they did for the semi's wasn't as good as their audition probably because they listened to the producers too much. If they did another true jive routine it would have been so much better. They should have refused to listen to the notes they were given. Its a shame.

@Believe11111 As someone who has been in Ballroom Dancing all my life as a dancer in medals, comptition and as a teacher Simon is right. They were not as good as their first time. If she is going to CRY at criticism then maybe she needs to get into something else as Simon was right.

They are terrific dancers!! But Simon is right, the song and choreography aren't that great. I think their audition was fabulous and the song truly expressed their passion for dance!
