  • This is the greatest Rap/Hip-Hop song ever created. Yeah, there are others with better beats and/or rhymes, but none is as real as this one.

  • You corn balls sound like John Brown on some ghetto revival shit. The only way you're going to get rap like this is have the crack epidemic ALL OVER. You want to see 2500 MURDERS? Crack smoking mothers? vaccant lots? Welfare lines around the corner? Drop out raters higher than 60%? Well you can have real rap if you have conditions like this.

  • genius, how did rap get so far off the map?

  • This song stands true then as it does now

  • rap music of the 1980s and 1990s is where its at. todays rap is no match for these originators. grandmaster flash and furious five are the godfathers of hip hop. peace out to the south bronx new york where hip hop all started. one love and respect. peace out yo.

  • how in the hell did they get all those dudes into that one police car?

  • nice song

  • did they ever sample anything for this or is it original beats?

  • i might be wrong but im pretty sure its all original

  • this was the first hip hop song to talk about the ghetto life. made in 82,this song is so far ahead of it's time it's unbelievable. the two mc's flow is incredible. an obvious improvement over rapper's delight, from sugar hill gang. those two tracks are what started hip hop. till one day, you was found hung in the cell!

  • DEEEEEEE SHIT!!!!!!!!, diz iz how hip-hop, stated, love it 4 get diz louzy azz shit 2day nottin iz original(solja boy,DJ KAled, lil wayne,t-pain,etc..) Only a gifted few R Fresh original, remember no matter wat any1 sayz diz iz HOT

  • awesome ---you actually understand all the words...it was all so original back then!

  • Can someone please confirm if THIS is the original version of this song? Im guessing it is.

  • Yah this is the original m8!

YOU CAN'T BEAT ORIGINAL CAN YA!

  • hehe, thanks:) I thought this had to be it. The version I heard yesterday was just to "clean", something wasnt right! Keep an eye out for my next video, it will be my version of a alternative music vid to this song:)

  • hey! I just uploaded that video I was talking about, a sort of music video to this song. Wanna have a looksee?

  • How all of them get into that car like that?

  • This tune/rap came out when the genre (rap) seemed to be addressing issues such as poverty; social exclusion; poor education and the lack of social mobility. Modern 'rap' worships consumerism- thats it. Rap should have followed the Flash, he was a true social commentator.

  • The rappers got rich and now its only cars and champagne all day long, lol...

  • lol they finished school...good life...im bored at school...

  • This song is sooo cool! Even me a woman who ln ylistened to rock and metal love it! I cant resist, lol:D

  • The ONE and ONLY !!!!

  • THE N'1 !

  • excellent flow... ol'skool :)

  • excellent!

  • Single rap I like ... Nowadays' rap is a piece of shit ...

  • couldn't agree more...what happened, modern 'rap' is more like aural porn instead of actual songs

  • interesting only melle mel and duke bootee rapped on this and raheim lip synced dukes raps on the video and who is the 7th person?

  • a groundbreaking song made in 82. first rap song to ever talk about inner city life. so many lines have been jacked from this song.

  • this is that real shit

  • lol wasnt it rap not hip hop

  • THE LEGGEND...

  • this was b4 when hip hop was good...love this song!

  • this is when hip hop was cool

  • bring back old time cool

  • so cool

  • Don't push me dammit!! CLASSIC!!!

  • what year was this song made?

  • 1982.

  • Damm.... real good song, I bet more than one person can relate to the lyrics, Classic..........

  • great song but damn...looks like they spent $3.00 on the video.

  • that last verse is hittn

  • haha this song iz sooooo cooool!!! true music

  • yes!!

  • You're an idiot.

  • that must make you a twatt

  • still rocks

  • This song is tight little bustas!

  • Flash has become a legend by gettin' credit for records he wasn't even on. "White Lines", "The Message", ect..., Melle Mel is responsible for all their hits. Flash played no part, other than falsely taking credit. Phony dude is even callin' his autobiography "The Message". Flash's best skill is playin' other peoples records.

  • I'd like to see this tune done with some real instruments. I'm not a fan of drum machines and preprogrammed keyboards. Blah.

  • don't push me....wow !!! great

  • The Message and what a message. This covers almost everything and should be required listening. Respect this architect of rap history. Consumate.

  • This is a masterpiece.

  • oldies and the goodies

  • cool! love this

  • Ahhh... faghag. What does that mean?

  • THIS IS REAL MUSIC NOT THE SHIT OF TODAY

  • i agree grandmaster flash was the one that set it of

  • love that shit

    oldskool mothafuckaaaa

  • I prefer these kind of Rap than hearing every American Rapper say, how great it is to drive a Ferrari to the club!

  • HAHAHA! Oh man' I forgot about this video, it rocks. Thanks.

  • old old old school. where's the sugar hill gang?
