I remember a time I had a cargo of 400M (most my assets at the time), transporting through high sec... then i jumped into low sec (wasn't paying attention), and ended up in a pirate gate camp of about 20 pirates... somehow i survived, but you do have a point about high sec also not being safe sometimes ;)

If you are going below high sec DOnt fly what you cant lose, because 90% of the time, you will lose it (If your not with a fleet).

In high sec, this rule does not apply, unless when you are at war with another corporation, or doing anything that can result in an engagement.

A badger pilot cannot fly through a pirate home system and also a border clash system between two militias and hope that flying gate to gate he will be fine! The gate camp was 20 pirates but there were around 100 pilots in local. I Ctrl - Q and hopped for the best. I survived and after logging back on I control- Q again. This meant my warp in on my 2nd log in was not back to the gate but my first safe spot.

Allowing me to warp safely to the gate and jump to high sec.

@Shadowglimt you can't alter the appearances, there are several to choose from. you alter the ships systems, you can tweak ships endlessly, there's thousands of configurations for each ship. you tweak ships for the specific job at hand, or have ships on standby that have already been configured for a specific purpose. Like maybe you have different versions of 1 ship, you trade off things like less armor for more speed, or bigger shields but less firepower are just a couple examples

A solo battle ship is what my corp's patrols call an easy kill. battle ships have a lot of hp and dps but thier mobility and accuracy are both fail. 97% of all combat I have seen in low sec and 0.0 has allways used nothing bigger than a battle cruiser. And battle cruisers are even a little bit less common than you might expect. The really great ships are the heavy assault cruisers. Though battle cruisers have better insurance.

The reason why heavy assault ships are so great is that your accuracy involves a comparison between your target's signature radius and your turret's signature resolution. For example large guns have a 400 signature res while frigates with active mwds have around a 200 sig radius. This means 50% accuracy before even factoring in accuracy loss from tracking. but medium guns have a sig res of 200 meaning tracking speed and range are the only concerns to watch.
