  • That guy in the background is taking forever to line up his friggin' shot.

  • Good lessons. Building suspense reminded of 'Dracula'. The different letters written from different people, slowly converging to an apex of information, was great writing.

What is your opinion of Stoker's novel?

  • I feel like i'm being brainwashed. Especially around 3 min...weird.

  • nice one man! thanks!

    The avatar is creepy, but.

  • "We are nosy creatures. And we want to know CRAP about people"

  • he keeps looking at me, hes stealing my ideas. YOU WILL BE REPORTED

  • Cartoon guy thinks you're sexy.

  • so cute and insightful.... torture your readers dame it ! hahahaha .

  • Stephen King develops his characters, very very well. He immerses you in the story. Comparing him to Stephanie Myer is redundant.

  • I enjoyed the Twilight series and Host, but she is not t hat good of a writer.

She has one of the same problem King does. She drones on to long about things that do not advance the story or characters.

  • I love that:

    "Build. TENSION. TORTURE THE READER."

    Very very nice...

  • Very nice...

Watching the video now -- I didn't have time to look at it earlier so I am today.

  • You shot me...with bullets of knowledge...that pierced my writer's heart. Thank you! Thank you!

  • i effing love your bullets of knowledge, superb, not so keen on the word pierced as i associate it more with knifes than the impact force of a bullet, if you had drilled home that force with a better descriptive i would have loved it enough to enquire as to where i can read some of your stuff, still very clever and of course its all just an imao,

  • It's easy to know that you *should* avoid slow pacing, but identifying problem areas in your own writing can be difficult.

I use the AutoCrit Editing Wizard to help me find slow-paced parts of my writing (and it's awesome!). Does anyone else have any "secrets" for helping to identify pacing problems in your writing?

  • Having a trusted person read it. After they read a chapter ask them if they were bord, and if so when? What parts did they want to skip past?

  • we are nosey creaters and we want to know crap about people.

    XD LOL! So true.

  • Dialogue would be nice. :)

  • something on plot please

  • thank you your vids have helped me out. I got alot of editing to do lol.

  • thank you thank you.xx
