Things to see in El Paso, The 1AD IRON SOLDIERS MUSEUM at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Hugh tanks and the Hind 6 Attack helicopter captured in Afghanistan and highlighted in the Movie Rambo 3. Please help us reach our goal of 1 million youtube views!! Get a preview here!!!
Dude your awesome :) you came to el paso tx, altho its pretty boring here, this has been the only video that i've seen on youtube that has el paso tx in it hahaha
I love this video! I'm going to post it to my website. There's a fairy truck driver in my novel Winnemucca, a young adult small-town fairy tale. So many times, truck drivers do things to help people on the road. Winnemucca, NV is The Emerald City of the novel:) Happy and safe travels to you.
@woodencoasterfan what i mean is a bird cannot be large as the road runner in the cartoon and that bird just must be a statue with feathers on it to make it look like a bird
LOl Louisiana/ Flordia Blueangels i got to go see hem it was awesome!!! i live in louisiana but there at flordia the museum is pretty cool ohh and mind the human kind if hes a trucker then yes hes probably been everywhere in the united states..lol good photos....!
@stefanable No, no, no, amigo. It's the other way around: You probably wasted most of your life hanging around some same areas looking at gang graffito. America is full of priceless scenes left behind from the pre-computer era...For, I've been there and I'm not an 18-wheeler like this dude.
Take a trip along I-40 in the West Coast and you'll know what I mean...The ancient Route 66!!!
Nicely done! I love the song by Hank, and have seen a few of the interesting things you have in your video. My 2 favorires: Texas Canyon and the BIG roadrunner near Las Cruces. Thanks for a cool video!
The opening and closing shot looks like it's from a truck pull-out area on I-8 in the far eastern edge of San Diego County just before the drop off into the desert. And at 1:05, just after the Roadrunner shot is the bridge on US-60 across Queen Creek just east of Superior, AZ at the beginning of the climb to Globe, AZ. I have two videos posted of the drive up this grade from inside my truck.
@espeescotty Actually, the opening &closing shots are from a rest area on I-10 in eastern Arizona in the Dragoon Mountains between Wilcox and Benson. I-8 is one of the few Interstates I have yet to drive on and San Diego as well as Boston are the only two major US cities I haven't been to.
@woodencoasterfan Oh, that's funny, I've been on that stretch of I-10 between Benson and Wilcox a few times, but I forgot there was a rest area up there. I actually thought it looked like the pass through the Dragoon Mtns., but since I didn't remember the rest area, I figured it was possibly the truck pull-out on I-8.
@woodencoasterfan As a trucker you've no doubt run some serious grades, but that 8 or 10 mile stretch of I-8 on the San Diego / Imperial County line is surely a story making grade for more than a few truckers, both up and down! It can get hairy! If you ever find youself with load for or from S.D. on I-8, keep that camera handy, as there are a few more things to add to the scrapbook along the way. On a clear day the view is awesome! Safe truckin', buddy.
@espeescotty I took a look at it from the Google Satelite view and it quite interesting. I can't wait to drive it, hopefully my first time will be when it's dry and daylight out.
@espeescotty You're correct with everything else. It's a shame more bridges aren't built like that any more. We could use more beautiful looking bridges in this country instead of all the precast uniform looking bridges that are being built now.
when i looked at the thumbnail for this video and saw the roadrunner statue, i thought it was a giraffe...hey, the thumbnails can be hard to see sometimes!
Thanks for posting, I drove trucks between 1986 - 1990, mainly interstate & mainly Melbourne to Adelaide, Sydney & Brisbane on our eastern coast, before retuning to drive trains, I used to drive part time as well as driving trains up till about 4 years ago, seeing your video makes me want to do the same with some of my photos & some short videos.
@salupaginahit You know I think I did see a scorched area not far from there. It must have been where Wiley's ACME rocket exploded while he was riding it. (haha). :)
@rad3766 Yeah, it us absolutely beautiful. Before I became a Truck Driver I just couldn't understand how people could fall in love with the western US. But now I do :)
@sketchguy2006 Not yet, I haven't seen anything of note at the rest areas and truck stops I've been to so far in Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
@groves1990 Only the first three photos were taken in Florida. The other 22 photos were taken in Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Washington State, Illinois, and Minnesota.
Just thought I'd pose this question to the rest of the trucker nation. Is it just me or are there fewer trucks on the road now than there were last winter? I've been noticing that I've been able to find parking spots at quite a few busy truck stops at 8, 9, and 10:00 at night when I'd have to get to those same truck stops before 6pm last year to find a spot.
good video...i drive truck too....I've got pics from almost every major city in the country but I think the coolest stuff I've seen behind the wheel......happened REAL quick...too fast to grab a camera....
if i was a trucker, i would look up stuff before i go somewhere and take a few hours to myself to see cool shit on the company's dime and just claim it was shitty gas bills and getting a little lost(though if you got gps, that may not work).
After the 1965 World's Fair festivities ended, the Giant Tire was relocated to a Uniroyal Tire sales office in Allen Park, Michigan, and has towered alongside I-94 near the Metro Airport ever since. Over the decades it has become an important symbol of Uniroyal's 117-year heritage and a cultural icon for the city of Detroit known the world over.
It was a ferris wheel from Coney Island New york city, its hard to believe they moved it that far and turned it into a big tire. Back when Uniroyal was advertising their royal seal tires they stuck a big fake nail in the tread of the tire. After a while they removed the big fake nail and I remember it selling on Ebay for about 10 grand.
Hey, I was just curious to know if you had any somewhat famous things from Oklahoma. There is alot of history in this state such as route 66, my hometown was Guthrie, Oklahoma and there is seriously massive amounts of things there. The worlds largest Masonic Temple is there. It takes up four whole blocks but most of it is the grass around it.
Well, the only thing from Oklahoma on this video is the Big Chief statue at the Big Cabin Travel Plaza in Big Cabin, OK it's in the northeastern part of the state right off the Will Rogers Turnpike. Most of the photos on this video were taken at rest areas or along side the interstate. Hopefully I'll get to drive my truck through your home town and snap a few photos as long as there's somewhere I can legally park my truck nearby.
I have seen Semi's parked all over the place. Actually, I have seen some parked right next to the masonic temple. The city has so much history to it as well, the first capital of Oklahoma, during the centinenial, it was voted the number one smallest town in Oklahoma.
The Fred G Remonds bridge at 1:22 between Yakima and Ellensburg WA. Nice, since Ellensburg is mentioned the song. Did you know that, since you credited Yakima with this location?
One of the last and one of the longest concrete spans built at a time when the USA was great. When real men drove real trucks and real women had real body parts.
When Kennedy was in Life Magazine and everything was aquamarine. Aquamarine...
as they say...been there seen that. I am a driver too and have over 12,000 pictures so far. Always have my camera on the dash. It is amazing what you can see driving down the road, some good and some you wish you had not seen.
Thanks :) I live in Orlando and I can't keep my truck there so I have to drop it off at our Lakeland terminal and I use that Mouse Ears power pole as a halfway mark. That way I know I'm almost home when I pass it and that's a very welcome sight for me. It's amazing what you can see from the road side, at rest areas, truck stops, and trunpike service plazas. I'm glad you liked the video :)
