@joseph85delaney IIRC; the original reason was at that time the expanded fluff said wookiees didn't put much stock into medals and the like. Once they fleshed out wookiees more, it was retconned that Chewie got one too. The other part might be... well, where were they going to pin it? Into his skin? Chewie walks around pretty much naked...

I agree, I think it was an oversight not to give Chewie a medal in the movie itself, but I don't think it was totally forgetting him.

@ArcadianGenesis The official one that was on the movie is a short version that was cut right after the ending scene. But the movie ones weren't the complete scores written by John Williams. Another orchestras could play the full scores, featuring parts that were not in the movies. This one is the classic case in point. I have the CD which this song comes from. I will search for it here and post the name for you.

@MrModenait I can't stand the idea of bullies in society myself as well, and what a lot of people learn over the years is that if you pop a bully hard enough the next time they pick on you then they won't want to come back and bother you. Just remember not to become the bully yourself and you'll do well in life. Also fighting dirty is never a bad thing when it comes to self defense. (eyes, neck, throat, groin, shin, temples. etc) Sorry I just got a little carried away haha.
