even when its off it shoots about every 5 seconds with a pressure plate for me

EASYER WAY

first place a dispenser

second place a lever behind it and next to it

third switch one lever on

fourth the other lever is the trigger and click it to shoot and it will every time

this is manual but it shoots

i fixed the random fire problem, leave one block with no redstone between the dipenser. eg the redstone will not be connected directly but it will be one block away. this eliminates the random fire.

@24Grox That can occur within MInecraft, you can try and google "minecraft redstone torch burn out fix" or something like that, or just reload Minecraft. I hope it helps, I had the problem before.

@MrNintoku no semi auto is when the weapon fires one round each time you pull the trigger. full auto is when you pull the trigger and the weapon continues to fire rounds until you release the trigger. before you comment something like that look up weapons and guns to find out what it really means.

@Dawcterpivot That's cool :) Just beware that this trap does use lots of arrows so you would have to have a lot of arrows to compensate the rapid firepower. INVedit should do the trick ;)
