...the film is awfull, the reason for this is the low budget. a film featuring some kind of classic story: skeletor with a cunning plan, playing on eternia, where many well known "masters" appear here and there would have been 1000 times better.

1015287 has a good point! You are right that it isn't the best and could have been better, alot of the popular characters were left out. But Like I said, he has a great point, the movie was done in '87! and the director was under a time limit to finish the the film, it wasn't finished in time either! Did you know that the final battle between Heman and Skeletor didn't get filmed until a few months after the rest of it was done!

Actually, I'm pretty sure those are Nazi stormtrooper style helmets, and it's pretty likely they were modeled after the Star Wars stormtrooper uniforms. Keep in mind, this movie was made in the mid 1980s when America had not yet become acquainted with samurais or Japanese culture.

Armored suits is armored suits, and there was a great deal of interest in things Japanese in those days, even before the great J-Pop renaissance of the 90's. Ever hear of a 1980 T.V. minseries called "Shogun?"

Also, Vader's helmet was itself based on a kabuto, George Lucas being a big Akira Kurosawa fan and all.

Maybe Lundgren is a better actor than Schwarzenegger. They both definitely have massive onscreen prescence but Schwarenegger has more of that special rare trait that goes a long way in life and Hollywood - charisma.
